Hotel Rysy

The hotel is branded as a 5-star facility, but in reality it is far from that standard. At best, it is a solid 3-star hotel, and if one is being generous, possibly a low 4-star. The location is excellent, which is the hotel’s strongest point. The common facilities are acceptable but nothing exceptional or close to what one would expect from a 5-star property. The room itself was just OK, but again, not at a 5-star level. The pillows were clearly worn, the bed sheets looked tired and used, and overall the room did not feel properly clean. We also found a sock from a previous guest under the bed, which is unacceptable at any level, let alone a hotel claiming five stars. Breakfast was disappointing and definitely not 5-star quality—more in line with a mid-range 3-star hotel. That said, the restaurant staff were polite and friendly, which is appreciated. Similarly, at reception we were greeted by a very kind and welcoming lady, which was a positive note. In summary: great location, average facilities, below-par cleanliness, and a price that does not match the standard offered. For this cost, I would choose another hotel that actually meets true 5-star expectations, or at least comes close to them.

A most enjoyable 3 night stay here, and just a short walk from the main shopping street. A comfortable room, good breakfasts and the bonus of a jacuzzi and sauna on the top floor, free during the day. Very helpful reception staff too. Recommended.

‏An excellent and quiet hotel for families. The location is very excellent, close to the center. The staff are very helpful, especially the employee Anita. She helped me a lot, even with some of the mistakes I made when booking. She helped me and provided me with the best solutions. I will visit again and recommend it.

If you look at hotel Rysy's webpage, you'd expect a mountian resort, not a hotel in a semi residential area. It is still a 40+ minute bus ride to the Tatra Mountains. They uses creative and good photography. The hotel is nice. I paid for breakfast with my booking but had to pay again at the hotel, and it was $20 USD per person, which is a bit crazy for Poland. They have a nice amount of selection for breakfast food. The floors in the bathroom are heated which is nice.

We found this hotel online and we chose it due to the competitive room rate. Only when we checked in we discovered that the hotel charges an extra 20% for parking (80 zloty, while other parking lots in Zakopane only charge 20 zloty). Also, while service at the restaurant was good and breakfast was excellent, the front desk service was often unfriendly.
