Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine

Great hotel and very clean. The check in process was a little slow but besides that it was a great time. My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves. Would stay at Aquamarine again because there were no kids which was great.

Excellent stay at this hotel. Second time visiting as a family with adult children. Excellent and friendly staff are a highlight of this hotel from Marco at reception to Juan, the happiest pool bar staff member ever, and not to forget Vianellis and Andy from the Entertainment team. Food- excellent. Great choice of Al a carte restaurants but book early to avoid missing out. We booked via the app before leaving the UK. Buffet is good with plenty of choice. Cleanliness- the grounds are lovely and very well kept. Rooms- despite being a bit dated, they are clean and well kept. All good. Pool- plenty of sunbeds and no need to reserve. We did have issues with swim wear turning green. Probably due to a mixture of suncream and cleaning chemicals. Entertainment- great team members who circulate daily and chat to the guests. Activities range from crazy games, to aqua Zumba, bingo and drink tasting. It can get repetitive but that’s due to entertaining the clients who seem to come for a few days rather than those staying for a week or a fortnight. This is the same on an evening. Decent selection of shows but could do with a bit more of a variety especially for clients who stay for two weeks as some shows and activities are repetitive every few days, again due to the turnaround of people who holiday for a few days instead of longer. Since we last visited, the addition of new restaurants and the sports bar have been well received. The Ambar is the other adult only selection on the complex and is more modern. Nicer to look at and the rooms are definitely more luxurious, but we still really enjoyed staying at the slightly older Aquamarine hotel. The Punta Cana is currently being updated and will be great when it’s completed. Beach- not a deep beach and quite tricky to walk along due to the unevenness and the drop down to the sea. The saw grass is also an issue, but staff do their best to keep on top of it. Still nice to spend a few hours at though. Overall, we had a brilliant holiday and would definitely return for a third team.

Everything rooms, food, bar, pools, beach and hospitality etc was A+. We book the Aquamarine and also had access to three other Bahia facilities, may be more but we didn't have the time to discover all. The place is huge with access to 14 restaurant. Beach shore line, as far as you can see.

We had a great week at BP Grand Aquamarine. The vibe was great, the sun was shining and the buffet and a la carts were great. Highly recommend Nomad and Limbo for the quality of food and drinks. Il Capriccio was also fantastic and the outdoor patio seating is really a special touch. The gym facilities are well equipped and very clean, not to mention air conditioned, which was nice. It was quiet so there were no issues finding loungers or shade at the pool, without the 7 am wake up and reserve. The entertainment staff were great, shout out to Gabriel and team, they got people involved without being pushy. Always had smiles on their faces and ready to have a chat, play a game or dance for us. We had a small issue with the room we originally got and within 5 minutes of letting them know, we were given a new room. The seaweed/sargassum is very bad at this time, but it's nature and they clearly were trying to stay on top of things as best they could. Swimming was still doable you just had to walk on the seaweed to get to the shore. They have made some really nice upgrades around the resort as a whole (our 5th trip to the property) and it shows. My biggest complaint is about the loyalty program, which constantly seems to be changing. This was our 8th trip to a Bahia Principe hotel and we have started the loyalty over from scratch.

We stayed at the Bahia Principe in June 2026 for a special celebration. The overall experience was mixed with positives and dissatisfaction. Positives: Personnel overall are friendly and customer-focused; the gardens are beautiful and well kept. However, we were dissatisfied on the following: rooms are incredibly outdated, rusted bathrooms and 5 of our rooms had AC issues; the music in the pools and bars is low quality and you can barely appreciate it; the nightclub is NOT included in your stay and incredibly expensive; the food quality is OK but not to the standards of an All-inclusive; when the buffet is closed, on multiple occasions the snack bar/grill area by the pools only offered chips and salsa/no personnel available for support; check in process is complex, they should consider an express check in line; and lastly the entertainment around the pool needs more structure and pool hours should be extended. It gets pretty boring to be around at times.
