Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine

Absolutely amazing holiday, excellent facilities from the room to the pools and restaurants. The staff are so attentive and friendly from the general manager to the waiters and the housekeeping teams, nothing is too much trouble for any of them. We have stayed here 4 times now and cannot wait to return. Would thoroughly recommend it to everyone.

Never been to DR before so all new to us check in was good and quick Carlos at desk was very helpful great surprise with our room very big with large balcony overlooking pool with no palm trees obstructing view as most rooms had them so very happy with that , nice big bathroom with whirlpool bath and large shower,food in buffet restaurant was decent always something to have couldn't knock it ,al a carte restraunts where we eat were good ,definitely recommend normad,. The 3 pools where large no issues with sunloungers entertainment team where always on the go , and work hard all day and night ,very loud at times , and if you know BOB you know iiiiiiiii and my friends from CANADA I must of heard this 3 thousand times lol been from England your mixing with alot of South Americans, Canadians Americans, etc but the ones I met and talked to where lovely people so this was a big plus . You get staff bringing drinks to you poolside and what we found out was the more people tipped the better drinks and glasses they recievied ,I don't go away to spend all my money on a service I have already paid for although I do tip generously ot still wasnt really enough , you could see some staff sticking to certain areas of the pool ,obviously where they were getting larger tips, so I done plenty of trips to the bar ,I only found one bar lad who seemed geniune that was sandros he was spot on , where the others give you the impression they didn't want you there especially kamika the small girl who only smiled at me on my last day lol I wonder why that was , maybe expecting a tip on me leaving ,didn't happen ,i do go by first impressions with people , but overall I couldn't knock the staff they do work hard all day , the pool area is always clean the pools are warm ,but they definitely have an issue with pipework corrosion, we googled it because our swimwear was turning green lol plus the wife's hair had a nice tinge of green in it after been in pool ,we just binned the ruined swim wear but the wife came home with me 🤣 we couldn't fault the place all in all and wouldn't write off a return , the night entertainment was hit and miss the retro night is definitely the best , we actually seen it twice and if you like a pool foam party theres plenty of them lol ,we prefare more laid back holidays these days but we had a great time and met some great people . There's one thing I'd say about the domincan, if you want to sell stuff to holiday makers stop trying to rip everyone off the prices in them shops at hotel are shocking 40 dollers for a cooler cup 6 dollers for a small toothpaste and the price of the cigars in a country where they originate from is beyond shocking take note you will sell more .

I have just arrived home after a 2 week stay. I travelled with my mom, and from the very first moment until the last we had a fabulous vacation. Check in was great- we arrived right around 3pm, and the staff at the check in counter (unfortunately we did not get their names) were welcoming and friendly. They were able to accommodate our request for rooms close to each other, and we ended up directly next door to one another in rooms looking over the pool area. We also received quick and very friendly service at checkout, where Marco ended our stay with more of the positive energy we had experienced the whole time while at the resort. I have travelled to the Dominican about 50 times, staying in about 30 different resorts. The service at aquamarine was far above anywhere I have been. The hosts at the buffet were so sweet, and we had amazing service at breakfast by Jose, and lunch with Raimer. Our water glasses were always filled within 30 seconds, and our drinks orders taken right away and brought while we filled our plates. There were so many food options and we liked everything we tried. We didn’t use the buffet at dinner as there are so many à la carte options that we were able to use. We had delicious meals and great service at all of them! We enjoyed cocktails in the lobby every evening before dinner, and then again after dinner while sitting outside in the terrace area for the live music, dancing, and shows. Luis, Andy, and the rest of the bartenders there knew our drink order after the second night and always made them with a smile. The entertainment team was friendly, energetic, and fun. We enjoyed getting to know Jose, Luis, Robert, and Vianely. Isaac, the entertainment supervisor, was also fun, super friendly, and great to get to talk to. Dancing with all of them to the live music in the evenings was so much fun. Another special shoutout goes to Adolfo, one of the drink servers around the main pool. We were always served our drinks just to our liking and with a smile. And speaking of the pool, the guys cleaning the pools thoroughly every single morning were great and also greeted us with a friendly ‘hola’ every morning. The property as a whole is large, but once we learned our way around the different resorts it was quick and easy to get where we wanted to go. The trolleys were also always close by if you prefer to catch a ride. Guest services in the main lobby were helpful and friendly, and through them I was able to organize a birthday cake for my mom at our dinner reservation on the evening of her birthday. It was sad to have to leave, but we both agree that we will definitely be back again. Great job to every employee, we didn’t run into anybody who wasn’t happy and helpful. We are thoroughly impressed, you should be proud of the team of employees you have there. Thanks all for a great holiday

Just returned from 10 days at Aquamarine, our first trip to the DR. Resort is massive but always trolleys running to take you where you need to go. Alternatively it is walkable which we often chose to do. Buffet for breakfast & lunch is very samey but had different options each evening that we went. We tried a few of the a la cartes, MEAT and Portofino being stand outs. We spent a lot of evenings at the Ambar Sports Bar which was great. Only downside was the amount we were bitten when we sat outside here. The pool bar staff were excellent and extremely attentive. Special shout out to Yorkie and Liciana who made our pool days so enjoyable. The entertainment team here also do a great job of getting everyone involved. Robert was always friendly and doing the rounds around the pool. Only downside to our trip was on the last night we returned to the room to find a huge leak coming from upstairs. It took multiple calls to the concierge and a trip to guest services before maintenance came out 90 minutes after we first reported it. By this time the bathroom was entirely flooded and we had to move rooms at 1am. Appreciate these things happen but waiting 90 minutes when we have reported a severe leak was incredibly frustrating.

After 6 days we decided we wouldn’t return to this hotel again
