Grand Bavaro Princess

The personnel was not very attentive, the guests were too loud, every night the same kind of entertainment, buffet every day the same, the trains did not come frequent enough, but the suites are excellent !

Beautiful hotel, loving the abundance of peacocks and their peachicks roaming around which I wasn’t expecting but was a lovely surprise. It’s tranquil here, feels very spacious but I would consider it a short walk to the beach from the front lobby (front to back of the resort) less than a 10 min pretty walk. The Gardner’s do an amazing job keeping everything spotless as there is a lot of maintenance to undertake in these beautiful surroundings. The staff are all wonderful, friendly and make you feel welcome. Apartments are well laid out and lovely. Gorgeous beach, honestly I have nothing to complain about even in a minor way, this place is paradise!

We are staying in the Platinum section at Grand Bávaro Princess. On Thursday, we dined at SOHO Restaurant and were served fish that was completely raw and frozen in the middle. Serving undercooked seafood is a severe health risk. We reported it immediately, but Guest Services only offered a late checkout to resolve it. It is now Sunday, we check out tomorrow, and management has completely ignored this serious safety issue all weekend. Avoid SOHO Restaurant.

We stayed here in June as regular guests (not platinum) GROUNDS Huge, but immaculate. The gardeners and staff work hard to keep this place beautiful. The various ducks and peafowl are a delightful touch. Walking from one end to the other was no issue, but they do have trains if so. FOOD Average. Buffet is repetitive and appears to cater to Spanish cuisine. Getting bacon felt like winning the lottery. However the food selection is plentiful and you won’t go hungry. À la cartes were hit or miss quality wise. SERVICE Pretty standard for the most part. Never waited long at the bars even when crowded. Buffet servers could use a bit of work. Many times they were slow with the drink orders and you’d be nearly finished eating by the time your drinks arrived. ENTERTAINMENT Main pool entertainment did a great job! They were always present and keeping guests happy. Evening entertainment was lacking. No theatre shows, just a different themed dance party every night. Variety is key. ROOM (building 10) Here’s where my review may turn a little nasty, and also the reason I will not be back at this resort. Air conditioner was working, but it was not very strong. Pretty much just enough to take the edge off the heat. Everything in the room from our clothes to the bedsheets felt damp. The worst factor however was the bugs. Constantly fighting mosquitoes, drain flies, and cockroaches. I understand we’re in the roaches’ environment, but the hotel needs to mitigate these away from the rooms. No one wants to worry about taking an infestation home. We did our due diligence by making sure doors were sealed at all times. Please do better.
