Our Royal Holiday Butler - Javier - was a great support in making our dinner reservations and managing all of the changes that come with a big group holiday (16 people). He was responsive, accommodating and very helpful! Thanks Javier!! Other standouts were Jerry from the Family Concierge office and the staff at the family buffet! The kids activities were great and the staff were very engaging with the kids. The rest of the resort staff were mixed - some were fantastic, while others couldn't be bothered. The resort itself was decent! The AC for the entire resort was broken when we arrived until well into the next day. Fortunately, it was fixed by the end of day two! Some families had it very very rough, but we were on the bottom floor and spared the worst of the heat.

I stayed at the Grand Bavarro Princess Hotel in Punta Cana in January 2026 for about one week. I expected a safe stay in a clean und maintained area including the beach front, as the hotel pretended in its appearance to meet this expectations. In fact the beach area of the hotel turned out to be a potentially life threatening zone as as a result of at least gross negligence I stepped with my bare foot on a big rusty nail which injured me so that I had to go to the hospital for medical treatment. My holiday experience was totally destroyed as I not only had the feel the extreme pain which was caused by the rusty nail. I also had to fear to get a serious polio infection which paralyses my body as a result of the step on the rusty nail. Moreover I had to pay more than $ 700 Dollars for medical treatment. Instead of at least apologizing and compensating for the medical costs and the missed holiday fun it took the legal intervention of a lawyer to get – after weeks - at least the costs for the medical treatment refunded. Further compensation was denied and communication refused. With regard to this behavior of the hotel management dealing with the consequences of their negligence I have to conclude that they will handle also a mayor incident with that kind of ignorance. I critize not only that the negligence of not cleaning the beach properly caused a potential severe injury which indicates a violating of the Art. 320 of the Codige Penal of the Dominican Republic. With regard to the amount of rust on the nail it was laying there for a very long time. This results in the qualifikation of gross negligence. Even much more worse was the bad and ignoring handling with my claims. In case their would an accident in the hotel area it seems there also would be no fair compensation but much of ignorance by the hotel management. This is more than highly concerning as the gross negligence with claening the beach indicates that also other areas of the hotel could be very dangerous to use. If some maybe severe accident happens to you you will probably have to fear that the hotel management will show heavy resistance in compensating you and will also not manage your claims properly. It is up to you if to take that risks…..
