Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort and Aqua Games

We went in may for 2 weeks, and it’s the first holiday we have ever been on that couldn’t end soon enough! After paying near 7k for it as well! We were all sick from the food and no doubt the cleanliness of the pools! Food was a joke unless you got in the place just as it opens (that’s all places to eat) they never refill any of the basic foods. Beach bar was closed the whole time we were there. Also don’t eat from beach sack bar as your sharing everything we the birds. The staff make no effort to cover food or wave them off of the food! My little one is a fussy eater and pasta is her go to. They heated the pasta up in a frying pan with oil rather than water. So she wouldn’t eat it as it was crispy! Then her go to would be chips but again they never filled that back up for half hr! We found 3 really good staff out of the whole place and that’s a shame as it should be the other way around! You just felt like you were putting them out asking for a drink at the bars. They would rather sit on the phones or talk to other staff and act like you weren’t there. Entertainment team avoided us as we were English which I worked out on the second week as none of them spoke good English. Sea weed hit the second week which the hotel did send a tractor out to clear but sea was a right off for the second week. I know they can’t help that. Ala cart were the worse thing about the place. Not offered full menus not all open or other restaurants. Only good part of the hotel was the coffee shop just again staff let it down. We’re tippers at every meal and bar service but that didn’t even put a smile on there face. Another note don’t book with first choice as your all under the tui banner until something goes wrong then your not and not given the same customer service. Again not hotels fault. They did check in on us though out the weeks as we made a number of complaints to the tui rep. They were asking everyday what they can improve on and even sent soup up to the room one evening as 2 of us hadn’t eaten for nearly 2 days. Room was nice family room didn’t have tv for 4 days or a working plug socket. again had to complain to rep to get it sorted as reception said they would send someone everyday for 4 days. On site shops are a rip off £70 for 2 sun creams. $15 for a bag of crisps $18 for spay deodorant. There is a couple of shops to the left a short walk along the beach but be prepared to be hassled and they argue with each other over which shop you should go in first! But crisps were $5 there. Overall wouldn’t recommend at all

My wife and I just returned from the Grand Sirenis and all that I can say is for all those who have posted terrible reviews, you must not have stayed at the same place. Overall our experience there was pleasant and enjoyable. I'm not saying it was perfect but no place is. We had one of the romance rooms and it was clean and comfortable. It had a hot tub but we didn't use it, not because we couldn't but we simply didn't need to. We did enjoy numerous a--la-cartes and all were nice. The Japanese was the most entertaining. With regards to the buffets, we never had any issues, there was always something tasty. I simply cannot understand how people can say they were bad. You are in the DR, not a Michelin star restaurant. If you are that picky of an eater, then an all inclusive isn't for you (Unless you want to pay $$$ for somewhere else). Just saying. Yes, not all staff were overly friendly, so what? I've been to many places in Canada and you will always get unhappy staff. Get over it and don't paint everyone with the same brush. Its not fair to all the ones who work their butts off and still make your day. I know I met a few. Both Lorenzo 'Mini Mike Tyson' and Axel 'Punta Canada' put a smile on my face every time I went to the bar by the pool (not the actual pool bar). There was one lady who worked in the buffet area who was the best however I'm ashamed to say I cant remember her name. The point is that there was staff who were incredible. I will put a couple negative comments but they are MINOR. To be honest, I did not like the fact that the excursion personnel constantly toured the pool area waving their signs and soliciting. Don't get me wrong, they were NEVER pushy but for me, if I want to do an excursion, I will come to you. Please don't bother me daily while I just want to relax. Did it ruin our experience, absolutely not. I go with the flow. They always smiled and moved on. I know they have a job to do but in my opinion, this isn't the way to do it. Second, I'm afraid the beach wasn't what I had hoped but that's not the fault of the resort. They have no control over the seaweed and the state of the ocean. My wife is not a strong swimmer so because of the rougher water, she could not enjoy it, which was sad because the sand was soft and amazing. Therefore, we stayed at the pool and that's fine. We adapted! I will leave it there. To sum up everything, I would recommend this property if I was asked for a recommendation but like every other resort, there are caveats. It's a large resort and caters more to a family atmosphere, which is why it was always very busy. Its not for everyone but I simply cannot agree with anyone who says to avoid it. That's not the case at all. I know people have been commenting on its 5 star claim an yes, I have to concede that's not accurate (definitely 4 star) but its still a great place to go and I strongly believe you will enjoy it. We recently stayed at Grand Sirenis Punta Cana and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing overall, which is why I’ve given it 2 stars. The biggest issue was our room. The photos online appear to showcase the “premium” rooms, which did not reflect the reality of what we were given. Our room was in very poor condition – extremely damp, musty and mouldy, and generally finished to a poor standard with little attention to detail. The shower/bath also wouldn’t drain properly, meaning you were left standing in dirty water while showering. When we raised these concerns with reception, we genuinely felt like an inconvenience. The staff member we spoke to seemed offended that we had complained and explained that their policy was to attempt repairs before considering moving or upgrading guests. A maintenance worker was sent out, but the reception staff member was blunt and couldn’t tell us when the issue would be checked or resolved, simply stating that we could come back later if we wanted. We left feeling completely unheard. The staff experience was mixed. Some employees were absolutely lovely and helpful, while others came across as miserable and quite rude. One particular member of staff near the pool snack bar was repeatedly unfriendly throughout our stay. Whether this was down to a language barrier, I’m not sure, but it did impact the experience. The cocktails were generally poor – overly sweet and not particularly enjoyable. However, on several evenings there was a cocktail stand available to standard guests, and these drinks were significantly better. The staff member working there was excellent too. The buffet was average at best. There were some good options, but also a lot that fell short. My biggest concern was that items such as fruit, yoghurt and cold meats at breakfast were often left unrefrigerated and exposed, sometimes with flies around them. In addition, getting seated and being offered drinks was very inconsistent. On several occasions, we ended up helping ourselves because no one came to take an order. On a positive note, the à la carte restaurants were actually very good and offered a much nicer dining experience than the buffet. The bed was one of the biggest and most comfortable we’ve ever had in a hotel, and we slept extremely well throughout the holiday. The air conditioning also worked perfectly. A special mention should go to the gardeners, who clearly work incredibly hard. The resort grounds looked fantastic and were very well maintained thanks to their efforts. The coffee and ice cream shop was a nice addition, although it was located quite far away from the main pool area, so we only really used it in the evenings. Overall, there were some positives, but they weren’t enough to outweigh the issues we experienced with the room, customer service and buffet. Unfortunately, this isn’t a resort we would choose to return to.

IGNORE ALL BAD REVIEWS!! I am not sure what planet some of the people are on who have written reviews for this place but they are definitely staying in a different hotel to us! We're currently at the resort we have come here for my birthday and after reading the ridiculous reviews on here I have had really bad anxiety about coming. The rooms are lovely and clean,the staff are all very friendly and are always happy to help! The food is the best all inclusive food I have had and trust me I am a person who likes the finer things in life. Everyone says how bad the Route 66 American diner is , this is rubbish! The food is excellent! I have been to America many time's and the burgers here are better than most. I am very impressed with the cocktails at the Plaza bar too ! Best all inclusive drinks i have ever had. Please listen to my review don't let the delusional bad ones put you off!

Well how do I start in all my years travelling i have never experienced as shocking service as this hotel provides the dining service this hotel dishes for guests is dire if hotel management thinks this is acceptable it baffles me were they studied and trained to enter hotel management buffett restauraunt is abysmal over run food cold meat not cooked properly tables not set wiped down cutlery not being set (BASICS OF CUSTOMER SERVICE) some staff extremely rude ques into buffett are as long as immigration at airport at times seems acceptable practice to let guests que when a closed restauraunt opposite is not utilised to take pressure off buffett pool opposite main pool is deep ive never seen lifeguard on duty yet as all round pool with swim bar totally unsafe practice accident waiting to happen are room was acceptable however mini bar not being replenished bar service ok at times gardens good gym is ok I would never use sirenis brand hotels again and am glad I'm back home 5 star rating a joke my advice avoid
