Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort and Aqua Games

Let me start by saying we are really worried having read the bad reviews but be realistic look how many say excellent and good and compare them to the bads . Look at the numbers… There are vastly more goods than bads. I will start with the pizza guy only because iv read he was rude . Nothing wrong with the pizza guy at all walked over there for a pizza just now The guy was all smiles gave me a couple of slices then asked if we liked pepperoni we said yes he said wait five mins and made us a fresh whole one, He doesn’t speak English but was rabbiting away to me in Spanish I only said “hola” and some other broken Spanish it was enough for him to beam at us and be really nice. Frozen bases but total opposite of what we have read from others Maybe we caught him on a good day Day four Can’t think of anything negative so far. Oh yes the Sargasso is extreme but that’s nature can’t blame them for that in fact I saw four staff members with wheel barrows clearing an opening in the weed to make access into the sea The sargasso is wild this year It’s made it over the netting they have and swamp ed things from here to Mexico as far as I can tell, it’s blown in from the open sea If you want to avoid that go stay on the other side of the island it’s everywhere this year I think the majority of visitors here are from South America right now on the beach they are having another fun game Which they seem to do every day at 3:30 I’d say it was 90% Spanish but entertainment is in English and Spanish again can’t fault it it’s been brilliant right up till midnight. Last nights entertainment was brilliant a circus act the acrobats were amazing! Oh multiple lights out in the pool and broken Open gaps where lights used to be Some with wires out but! - they are not live TUI would do better to be a bit more honest about this The water park Great fun A bit dated but manned safely and all riders watched closely by attendants drinks at the bar but staff also coming to check do you need drink. The steps up to the tops to the slides could do with some attention you could cut yourself if you wasn’t careful by catching your feet. The rooms, we have three our bedroom is spotless the bed is massive and two 55” TVs a lovely shower room with rain head it’s niiice. Housekeeping has been in every day left us a swan today. Every day so far they have left some form of decoration made with towels and blankets We have left a $5 tip each morning yesterday with a note requesting diet cokes Came back and fridge was full of them in the evening. We were missing slippers left it on the note slippers were there when we got back. The buffet was ok last night the night before there was some lovely roast beef we have the route 66 booked tomorrow and the Japanese Sunday well se show that goes The lifts are broken after two days being here Not helping my back at all being disabled. that’s a bit of a pain But I bet if I requested a ground floor room they would probably sort it We are in block 41 Maybe I’m easy to please. It’s not Sandals or Hard Rock but for the money you can’t complain I saw the holiday going for 800pp last week before we left to come here A steal for what you get I realise there are bad reviews but I sometimes think a person has one issue then finds fault with everything. No member of staff has been rude The guy at the pool bar works flat out and I see he has had a lot of stick for seeming rude He isn’t he works flat out and he’s just super focused and under pressure I get that. If you work in hospitality you will understand what I mean Also iv read staff really push the vip breakfast They don’t I have been asked three times by three different staff but the moment I said no thanks I know what it is (and I do) that was the end of it They do not pressure you Nor do the trip reps they’ll ask but they are not pushy at all I simple said thanks but not Interested thank you and that was it Some people think “Iv paid for all inclusive so why should I tip?.” You tip because the wages are low and you reward good service and you get remembered and looked after and your experience is better I’m not talking loads and loads But a few dollars a day will take your stay so much more enjoyable. We would tip a taxi driver that does so much less so why not tip someone who is cleaning up after you bringing you drinks etc. Today at the water park I got told to go back to my lounger and the guy brought the drinks over and kept coming back to check if we wanted refills is that worth tipping for? It’s a big yes for me Finally we went to the little bank of shops and market up the road one lady Maria very pushy Comes across rude wanted 69 dollars for 3 cups lmao then wanted 5 dollars for 50p keyrings Bye luv Went up to the next shop The guy left us alone we looked around and found what we wanted He still tried to over charge but a little barter back and forth and We were all happy job done It wasn’t enjoyable though A couple of shops were pushy and made me want to turn a bit nasty and tell them in an east London way to …… so we just left and said thanks the Mrs was shaking from the stress of it which put me on even more edge and on the defensive. Oh and all the shops had the same stuff So a waste of time really it’s fridge magnets and the usual seaside stuff you make your mind up what you think it’s worth The staff I can’t fault they work hard very hard when you think about what we pay for the holidays to TUI I think tipping isn’t a killer As I write another guy I tipped at the bar has just come up and brought me a Jamesons on the rocks, he’s seen me order it earlier What’s not to like? The toilets are all clean the entertainment is great The food is good the rooms we have are good honestly I can’t fault it and iv stayed at a lot of places over the years Overall I think for a family break this place has all you need . The grandkids love it and both partners of the girls have said they love it. If the kids are happy the grandkids are happy and the girls are happy then I am happy Oh I forgot yesterday I walked past some staff I noticed were cutting coconuts down they saw I was looking at what they were doing five mine later I and a freshly cut coconut in my hand! Nice 😊 Staff are great I can’t fault easily overlook the pool lights it’s clean the food is good there is something for all tastes. Do not panic reading the bad reviews im not saying ppl may have had issues but I promise you you will be happy when you get here the staff work very hard to make your stay the best it can be I can honestly say it works Well done to them all Enjoy your holiday don’t worry about the bad reviews I really can’t say I am unhappy the worry was for nothing You’ll have a great time Oh the weather the Apple app has showed rain all week it’s been blue skies rain maybe at night I don’t know I was sleeping Silly app Well done Sirenis staff ! Bravo!

The resort is big - loved the pool and amenities. I think the staff are lovely and helpful. The activities were enjoyable for all ages, I wish we received information - activities, restaurants booking on check in - we learned as the days progressed and didn’t receive all the information initially. Could have been useful to have a guide or something in the room. There are multiple restaurants and we enjoyed exploring the different types. I think there was attention to detail to ensure all the restaurants have corresponding themes. The only thing is, the restaurant, buffet have different opening times and can be packed/ hard to get a reservation. I think the cleaning could be better - we stayed for 2 weeks and had to complain that our room wasn’t being cleaned. Once we did, they cleaned it really well but didn’t clean it the next day. We experienced that on most days it was just changing the towels, some days nothing, others they’d actually clean really nicely. The furnitures are quite dusty & just needs a good clean in general. I think they do push for you to become a vip member and don’t necessarily allow you to think about it. As someone who has stayed in another branch ( Mexico) I feel this branch is completely different. I enjoyed my stay in Mexico & thought I’d get the same here in Punta Cana however I don’t think I’d come back to this resort.

Great place, our family had a good time. Entertainment team fantastic Bom Bon especially. Also special mention to Lorenzo (mini Mike Tyson) at the beach bar

Fantastic and beautiful staff are all fantastic and Bombon especially very, very funny guy. You have everything you need and more. Entertainment very very good from day to night, pool activities and shows of a night are all brilliant funny and very entertaining
