Arrived July 3rd 2026 for 14 nights, so still here as I write We travelled as a party of 6, 4 adults and 2 children, eagerly looking forward to the quality of the hotel, entertainment, location, entertainment, and the gastronomic experience. Unfortunately, as in the title of the review the little things all add up. We checked in at reception fairly quickly and were told our cases would be taken to our room, and then the "fun" started. We were given fairly vague directions to our block. No map or buggy was offered. After becoming lost we finally found our rooms, no big deal, all part of the fun. Despite travelling together we were given rooms in separate blocks, no big deal, as one was a family room the other a double. The layout of our building resembled doors of which all resembled a prison block. All soul-less white (or once white) doors. Ours was dirty, stained, and needed repainted. We got in and looked around. The room was fairly spacious with plenty of storage. Bathroom basics, toilet, sink, bath with no plug?, and a shower. Found the coffee machine, safe, and the mini bar, 6 bottles of various soft drinks, 2 cans of beer, drank these but no snacks. No glasses were provided for drinks, no spoons for stirring coffee.... But okay, no big deal. The family room was much more spacious, or so we thought. 2 separate rooms, both with 2 double beds for adults and children, same mini bar and coffee making facilities, same lack of glasses, but they had spoons. 4 people in it but only 2 chairs on the balcony meaning the family couldn't sit together. The children's room had a sofa, but by choosing to put the beds in had made this unusable and couldn't be sat on giving a cluttered appearance. Back to our room. We discovered the toilet seat was loose, again no big deal, I popped along to reception to report this expecting a quick repair... unfortunately 4 days in it's still not been addressed. Our mini bar, beer, has never been restocked. We have had to ask for clean towels, we have no glasses and have resorted to stirring our coffee with a pen. Pool and beach bars continually running out of soft drinks and mixers. Some guests using the snack bars eating in the pools and leaving cups and plates lying around the edges The a la carte restaurants have been a major let down so far. The food truck is rubbish, quality is poor, tables dirty and crawling with flies. Coffee shop is good , Sports bar has restricted offerings, no snacks or food available due to the football. Tepenyaki restaurant was poor, egg fried rice burnt. Can't get booked into the Gourmand, Steak house a complete disaster. No T- bone steaks available as the chef was finished for the day, no onion rings as advertised were offered, we had to remind the staff to bring them. Soup was cold, steaks when we did get them were not as ordered, no vegetables available, when I said this to the waiter his response was, you got a steak.....We walked out. So far and we still have 9 days to go, it's been very poor. We paid over £12,000 to travel here and so far it's not even close to expectations. But the potential is there. Grounds are large and well maintained, the water park is alright, snack bars and buffet restaurants are okay, beach is cleared of seaweed in the morning, can't blame the hotel for the tide bringing it back in. But what made us come here, the so called "finer things" simply aren't Have we been unlucky? Possibly. Will it get better? Maybe. What's the chance of our mini bar being restocked? Unlikely. Will our toilet seat ever get fixed? Unlikely. Can I get a spoon for my coffee? Borrowed one from the buffet restaurant...tick.. But the lack of response to the little things make me think not.... Room 1401....if you get offered it try for a change. Oh, when you visit the concierge to book your restaurants don't be tempted by the "a la carte" breakfast. Its a scam for the privilege holiday club. All-in all I've readdressed this review to a one out of five...

My family and I visited this resort from June 19 for 14 nights. Firstly this was sold as a 5 star accommodation. I'm going to start with the positives. When you arrive at the hotel you have a beautiful drive up to the entrance of the hotel. The whole resort is huge and the landscaping is just beautiful. In the morning you awake to the sound of nature, it really is calming. The pool area is really big too loads of seating and the beach would be perfect too (I'll come to that later) the sea was really warm too so we enjoyed the daily swims in the sea. The rooms are spacious and you have a balcony (ours overlooked the gardens) powerful shower too, which believe me when you end up taking 3 showers a day, you'll appreciate. Upon arrival we were greeted politely by staff. Unfortunately 1 couple received a free upgrade and the other 2 rooms were not. We were miffed by this but we carried on. Our room (the upgraded room) although slighter bigger wasn't too different from the other rooms (we asked about the cost to upgrade the rooms, first is was $1500 then the special price of $1000) trust me when I say it was not worth either of those prices. We had leaking air conditioning unit and had to throw down towels to soak up the water. When we complained they just turned out that section of the ac. Problem solved. The room was not cleaned properly there was marks everywhere, dead Mosquitos on the walls, we found a cockroach too. We complained to our TUI rep and guest services. Nothing really happened. The other rooms 1 had a huge leak and had to be moved at 2am (in response for the inconvenience he got some strawberries) the other room wasn't cleaned properly either and had similar issues. The food... there are 2 buffet restaurants but only 1 opens for lunch and dinner and 1 only at breakfast so you can imagine the carnage. The food was average. The salad selection and fruit and Desserts were great but hot food was lack lustre at best. Most of it was Luke warm or cold and lacked seasoning. The resort in general lacked organisation, there were plenty of staff but half of them stood around doing nothing. No sense of urgency. We did meet some wonderful staff who were great and a credit to the hotel. Joely in particular was amazing. Out of the 7 supposed a la carte restaurants this is what you actually get. Italian - served the same starters salads and fruits as the buffet. The pizza was good lasagne was a small portion but tasty everything else lack lustre. The ac hadn't worked for a while so in 33 degree weather we all sweated buckets. Brazilian- only food we actually enjoyed this was good. Although you had to keep asking for the food to come round. They never fill the restaurant to full capacity either. Route 66- don't bother food was awful we got served raw burgers. We couldn't go to the steakhouse as its only available Sundays and was booked. The Mediterranean was just the pool restaurant turned into a another restaurant-pointless. In general the food was really disappointing, everyone in our party got Diarrhoea. Location is pretty secluded you're stuck in the hotel as there is nothing really to do outside of the hotel. We did book a couple of excursions. If you go to the concierge services be prepared to be upsold at every occasion it's really annoying. There was a case of foot and mouth disease at the hotel so we never used the pool or aqua park. When you see the little kids running around with rashes it really puts you off, we just used the beach and swam in the sea. Unfortunately the beach was covered in seaweed. There was tons of it. The hotel did on occasion try to clean it up but its a natural phonemenon there is nothing that can be done about it. By the 2nd week it started to get better though. The bar staff at the main bar by the lobby/restaurants are extremely biased if there is Spanish speaking guests they interact with them better which is understandable as its there native language. However we were not treated well. Half the time we were ignored, they hid bottles from us. Kept going to the back to pour drinks and wouldn't pour them in front of you. We asked for smirnoff vodka and the guy poured in front of us we tasted it and it didnt taste of anything other than orange. So we asked for more then he used a different bottle of smirnoff and then we knew they were messing about with the drinks. They were either putting cheap alcohol into branded bottles or watering down the drinks. It left a bad taste in our mouth (no pun intended) we did complain to the manager Leudy who said he had a word with the bar staff, but I don't think that changed anything. Overall I wouldn't come back to this hotel and honestly I'm not sure if I'd come back to DR either. We tried to make the most of it but this was a disappointing holiday for us all.

Outdated room, smells of sewer in washroom. Bed sheets had stains. Food need to be better too salty and juices were too sweet. Not as advertised as 5 star renovated. We stayed at a family suite. Broken sofa bed and took so many attempts to get bed sheets and moved to different room. Pools water did not look clean and entertainment was so late for families with young children.
