Hideaway at Royalton Punta Cana

10 DAYS IN PARADISE Excellent service from: Gusavo - Butler / Oscar and Raulin - Beach bar / Villar: Prime / Baron: Dorado breakfast / Culinary Experience / Willson: Towel Person at Hideaway / Jose Luis: Diamond Club beach bar/ Bernard: Entertainment / We gave away over 150 chocolate bars to these wonderful hard-working individuals. They made our vacation wonderful. They work hard so you can relax and play hard. We have been to Dominican Republic 15 times. Beautiful people. They so are not mean to you; they work for tips. If you don't tip, i would be mean to you, also. I did not have a bad moment on this resort. The Diamond Club beach does have to be redesigned. The cabana beds block all other diamond club / prime members from the beautiful ocean view. Cabanas need to be off on the side by themselves. Those mentioned above and the crew downstairs in building 2 are AWESOME.. MUCH LOVE FROM PITTSBURGH, PA..

I had a nice stay at this property, but there were a few issues (not deal-breakers, but issues nonetheless). First, the rooms we booked were very spacious, and I had a ground-floor room that allowed me to walk right out to the adults-only pool. The beach was also very nice, but we spent the bulk of our time at the pool. Shout-out to the entertainment team for the water aerobics classes that had me mostly giggling and not aerobicizing :). The other staff were equally friendly and helpful. There were a few issues with flooding on the ground floor when it rained, and a few more bugs than we were comfortable with inside the hotel rooms, but it was otherwise clean. I don't know if I would necessarily rebook here for a return trip, but it wasn't a bad stay.

5/5 Stars – Miguel the tennis pro is the best! Big shoutout to Miguel, the resort’s tennis pro! He hooked us up with a lesson at an amazing price and was a total pleasure to work with. He’s super friendly, professional, and very accommodating. You can tell right away that he has a lot of teaching experience because his tips actually stuck with me. Definitely a highlight of the trip!

Our stay at Hideaway Royalton Punta Cana was one of the most frustrating vacation experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, there was constant miscommunication and poor service. Check-in was disorganized and stressful. Even after our rooms were ready, it took over TWO HOURS for our luggage to be delivered. After traveling all day, this was completely unacceptable. The food throughout the resort was also extremely disappointing. The quality was poor, meals were inconsistent, and it did not meet the expectations of a resort at this price point. The worst experience happened during check-out. I was suddenly told I had an outstanding balance of $4,400 — despite already being charged over $5,400 at check-in. After questioning the charges, the balance somehow changed to $1,500, which was also incorrect. I then had to prove that I had already prepaid for a private dinner four days before arrival. After spending another 30 minutes arguing and reviewing charges, they finally removed the incorrect fees and reflected only the actual charges. No guest should have to spend the end of their vacation fighting incorrect billing charges and dealing with this level of confusion. Overall, the experience was stressful, poorly managed, and far from relaxing. I will not be returning to Hideaway Royalton Punta Cana and would not recommend it based on our experience.
