The ocean view pictures you see online will not be the view that you get if you only pay $800/night. Do not upgrade! Please see the photo I have attached from our balcony of our RESORT KING - OCEAN VIEW JUNIOR SUITE for $803/night. If you zoom in really far, you can see a sliver of the ocean. We travel a lot and this "Ocean view" is a joke. You cannot see the beach sand at all and the ocean is a sliver view. We complained about it every day and each day they told me to come back tomorrow to check. We did this every day and at the end they just said sorry. I contacted the resort online afterward and they said this: "we have confirmed that the room and the conditions provided correspond to what was purchased at the time of booking." Please look up pictures on the Lopesan website for ocean view and compare to my picture. I really do not recommend you pay up for the ocean view, because you will get whatever they give you, like it or not. Will you risk it? Also keep in mind the water park is 1500 ft (450 m) or 0.3 miles from your room and will be 2000 ft (600 m) or 0.4 miles from the beach. So for example, to go to the beach, then the water park and back to the room will be 0.75 miles (1.2 km) of total walking. Imagine that with 2 kids in the heat. Or it will be 0.6 miles from your room to the park and back (no beach or buffet). And the food options at the water park are the worst for the entire resort. There is a single restaurant close by, but the food takes a long time to cook (about 25 min) and you cannot take it out or order takeout. So after you do that once, you end up having to walk all the way back to the resort to get food. At that point you are over a mile of walking. Please don't take my word for it though. Look up the resort on google maps and zoom in on the hotel with the beach you can see to the right and the water park far to the left. Add up the feet/miles yourself. You cannot drive, it's all in the resort. There is only ONE towel station in the entire resort and they do run out of towels. They will always tell you they will get more in 15 min, but that is a guess at best. The water park does NOT have towels. If you don't know that and show up with no towels, you will now add almost a mile walk from the park to the beach to the park. The room insides were decent, but the toilets were gross. My 4 year old daughter even said "ewww dirty" when we walked in. The seats have a matte finish that just does not seem clean or sanitary (why not gloss?) There are bathroom brushes for every toilet. You will eventually find out why there are brushes and I'll leave it to your imagination. And the brush in your room will not be a new one. They have the same toilets for the entire resort. The pool was clean but had a green tint. Someone messed up and used the wrong surface for a pool I guess. I do think your kids will enjoy the water park once you are there. It's really quite fun. You don't need an "ocean view" for that.

We had a wonderful trip with our family of five- 2 adults and 3 teenagers. We booked a couple of the Unique rooms and we were so glad we did! Having the Unique buffet, bar, beach club and pool was wonderful. Our butler Ronald, was so attentive. He made every reservation for us and even moved two nights around for us. He checked in every day and made our stay that much better! Our check out was so smooth and easy thanks to him as well!
