Riu Palace Punta Cana

Resort was great, clean, great service and great food. Only warning it is a party resort even though it is family friendly, which was what we were looking for, but with that being said be expected for the resort to be loud until 3A!

I appreciate everybody there. Everybody was so welcome and everything so I was great to have everybody there. Everybody treated me very well, but I need to learn more Spanish, but I learned a lot from those people. Thank you.

We arrived from the UK for 11 nights on 22nd April 2026. Two things we would recommend….. booking VIP service st Punta Cana airport for arrival and departure and private taxi to take you to the resort. Check-in was efficient, rooms clean and tidy (cleaned daily), beverages in room replenished daily, it helps to leave a couple of dollars. Restaurants brilliant and the fact you don’t have to book is a bonus, lots of variety both at lunchtime and in the evening. Hotel staff are amazing, the pool ‘waiters’ are efficient as are the waiters at breakfast and at the evening meal. Two slight negatives, guests vaping in the reception area and not being challenged and if you are unlucky enough to be given a room over looking the central concourse you will be subject to noise from the entertainment in the evening.

Just home after 11 nights- lovely corner room with huge bed! Slight whiff in bathroom, rooms cleaned daily, fresh towels and bar replenished- left us left towel/flower sculptures. Hotel grounds very well maintained- staff on whole lovely and great choice of food and drinks. Loved the coffee shop, Lounge bar, Italian and Steakhouse restaurants. Beach and bar service very very good

room.....very dated with a horrible view of a service road and a drainage ditch for overrunning water. AC worked well, room was clean and had plenty of hot water. check in was ok. went smoothly, but the employees are not friendly at all. beach.....excellent drinks and bars.........very poor. drinks were terrible. bartenders were very unfriendly and didn't know how to make several of the drinks on their own menus. cheap brands of liquor. very disappointed. compared to other Riu palaces we have been to, this was a real let down. we tipped for EVERY drink and were treated very poorly, clearly, they did not appreciate our American business and made no secret about it. one of the waiters called us "the WHITE family". acted as though they were doing us a favor by waiting on us. we will never return with that kind of attitude. food.......very good to excellent. other than sometimes not being hot enough, the buffet food was outstanding and we really enjoyed it. all in all, a good solid 3 stars. the place is in need of many much needed repairs and upkeep. this is a very middle of the road resort and I don't recommend if you are used to other Riu Palaces.
