Nice hotel but could do with some updating in the rooms. If you are looking for something more quiet, this isnt for you, however they have lots of activities and it is always busy.

Great trip to RIU Palace Punta Cana. Everything was great - Food, pool, beach, drink service was quick, etc. Only improvement I would suggest is the evening activities were a little lacking. Only saw 1 show for the entire week and it was a Vegas Show, which was great, otherwise very limited shows with basically duet singing and Kahoot. I enjoy the shows in the evening and they were lacking.

I arrived at the Riu Palace Punta Cana on December 18, 2025, early in the evening. The staff was welcoming, and my initial room was on the ground floor with a fairly average view. The next day I requested a change and was moved to a second-floor room with an elevated panoramic view over the palm tree tops and surrounding grounds (room 2020). It was a big improvement considering the cost of the trip. The room itself was spacious and arranged on two levels, which is nicer than what you typically find at an all-inclusive resort. The décor was traditional. The layout worked very well: a king-size bed and wall-mounted flat-screen TV on the upper level, with a seating area on the lower level near the balcony. The room was comfortable, though not quite as refreshed as during my previous stay several years ago. Housekeeping was excellent. The room was always made up quickly after I left for the day, and the minibar was consistently restocked with soft drinks, beer, and other refreshments. The restaurants were very good overall. The standout à-la-carte option was the Japanese restaurant. The main buffet was especially enjoyable for breakfast, where staff often had a table ready and orange juice already on the way. Service throughout the resort was professional and friendly. My favorite meals were the breakfasts and the dinners at the Japanese restaurant. The beach in front of the resort was beautiful, lined with palm trees that provide plenty of shade and create a stunning setting. Beach chairs were always available regardless of the time of day, though some were placed fairly close together. There were also plenty of chairs around the pools. Since the main pool is located right next to the beach, it was convenient to take a pool chair and walk over to the ocean for swims or beach walks. Service on both the beach and around the pools was excellent and very quick, which made everything more enjoyable. The water was clear and turquoise with little to no seaweed. The waves were generally moderate, making it easy to swim farther from shore. The resort itself has beautiful pools and a pleasant bar near the main pool where the service was consistently friendly. The hotel’s architecture has a Spanish influence, and the grounds are exceptionally well maintained. It’s a wonderful setting for walking around the property or heading to the pools or beach. There were many activities available on the resort grounds, along with evening RIU parties outside the main areas. Nightly entertainment followed a set schedule: a children’s show, followed by live music and singing, and then the main show at 9:30 p.m. Guests came from across North and South America, as well as some from England. The trip went by quickly, but I came home with many great photos. With sunny, warm weather every day, it was both fun and relaxing. Once again, the staff was excellent.
