Riu Palace Punta Cana

We had a group of 12 family and friends. The room was very nice and clean with no musty smell. We ate at all of the sitdown restaurants and enjoyed them all. My favorite was the Japanese restaurant. Overall a great stay.

Firstly alla carte restaurants; Italian restaurant was terrible. We had ravioli which were barely cooked and the lamb was tough. Steak house was mediocre. Steaks seemed like they were pan fried. Buffett was not impressive either. Same food on rotation. Usually the pasta bars are ok but this one was not. The pizza was good. All of the vegetables at the Buffett are frozen, not fresh. We found a lot of the staff did not look happy. The beach and water were full of seaweed, which was the most disappointing. I will not come back.

We are just back after 2 week stay this was our second time first time was 2016,A lot has changed ie Elite club which looking around was a waste. The rooms although have had a refurb there was a lot of mould on wall and rust on lamps but that is the humidity,but that said the food in the buffet was amazing the salad bar was great. All staff work really hard they are a credit,the beach is stunning overall we had a great time

time to refurbish! Rather poor entertainment. Personnel "expecting" gratuity. electrical outlets function only when in a good mood!

This is not a 5* hotel. The list of proplems i have with this hotel are too long to even go into however I will be making a complaint to TUI whom I booked with. Some of the standout things I was not happy with were ...... ●lack of cleanliness ie hair and multiple stains on towels and bed sheets, dirty bins and toilets, stains and grime on floors and doors , filthy shower glass, mould on walls particularly behind TV ● Food was absolutely terrible I hardly ate anything other than fruit for the whole trip whilst at the hotel and had to use Uber eats on more than a couple of occasions ●the sun beds were disgusting and in need of replacement as were the towels by the pool provided to lay on them they smelt of damp and vomit ●my TV needed replacement as did not work ●the toilet overflowed covering the whole apartment and the commu al hallway in dirty toilet water they sent one cleaner with a mop and bucket who became so overwhelmed at one point she was using the towels to try and contain it 🤢 ●there are cockroaches throughout both buildings not just on the ground floor ●entertainment was an absolute joke There were more than 15 of us on this trip almost every single one of us had our own unique poor/negative experiences On a positive note Staff were nice and hotel looks good from the outside
