Coral Strand Smart Choice Hotel

Our stay at Coral Strand Smart Choice Hotel in Mahé was truly one of the highlights of our Seychelles vacation. We visited to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations in every way. The location of the hotel is simply outstanding. Being right on Beau Vallon Beach, we woke up every morning to breathtaking ocean views and stunning sunsets. The beach is clean, safe, and perfect for swimming or simply relaxing. It is also conveniently located near restaurants, shops, and water activities, making it an excellent base for exploring Mahé. What made our stay truly exceptional, however, was the outstanding hospitality of the staff—especially Chamara at the Front Desk. He went far beyond what anyone would normally expect. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us with genuine warmth and professionalism, making us feel like valued guests rather than just another booking. Since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, Chamara personally arranged a beautiful room decoration, which was a wonderful surprise. The room looked elegant and festive, making our special day even more memorable. He also presented us with a thoughtful anniversary gift, a gesture that touched us deeply and showed how much the hotel values its guests. Chamara’s kindness didn’t stop there. He also helped arrange a photographer for us, ensuring we could capture beautiful memories of our anniversary in Seychelles. The photographs turned out amazing, and we will cherish them for years to come. Throughout our stay, he was always available with a smile, offering recommendations, helping with our requests, and ensuring everything was perfect. Hospitality like this is rare and deserves special recognition. Another aspect we greatly appreciated was the breakfast. Being vegetarians, we had specific dietary requirements, and the hotel went out of its way to accommodate us. The breakfast team arranged vegetarian dishes specially for us based on our requests, which made us feel genuinely cared for. Every morning, we looked forward to the delicious breakfast knowing our preferences had been remembered. The room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained, with excellent housekeeping throughout our stay. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was relaxed and welcoming, making it easy to unwind and enjoy the beauty of Seychelles. A heartfelt thank you to the entire Coral Strand team for making our anniversary so special, and an even bigger thank you to Chamara. His professionalism, kindness, attention to detail, and genuine desire to make guests happy transformed our holiday into an unforgettable experience. Employees like him are a tremendous asset to the hotel and are the reason guests return. We highly recommend Coral Strand Smart Choice Hotel to anyone visiting Mahé. Although this hotel is ideally located along a stunning beach, lovely for swimming, and in a beautiful area, it gets a 1-star from me for the following deal-breaking reason: On 1 of our 2 nights, the hotel hosted a very noisy wedding in the buffet hall. The loud base of the music was overbearing, in spite of putting on white noise. Sleep was impossible. Upon complaining at about 11pm, along with other hotel guests, we were told the music would continue until at least 2am and nothing could be done about it. Staff refused to contact the general manager at such a late hour. When paying so much for a room, the assumption is that I can sleep in that room. Absolute deal-breaker, and frustrating to say the least, since we had an early morning flight to catch the next day. Besides the late loud music, the hotel rooms are quite small, the buffet disappointing, the hotel itself quite old, and the elevator was broken on our only full day at the hotel. Would definitely not recommend and won't be returning.

The hotel is in a beautiful location on the most gorgeous beach. The staff are very friendly, helpful and always cleaning ..the hotel is exceptionally clean but still under refurb if the main communal areas The breakfast was extensive but I have to say we ate out most evenings as the choice was very repetitive and there is so many lovely local places to explore

Beautiful room, lots of amenities. Beach access, big pool, very, yes very friendly and helpful staff. Free parking, fast WiFi. Breakfast is good, whereby the breakfast room itself looks rather cold and uncomfortable . Only negative thing is that in June 2026 renovation was still in progress with the lobby looking rather improvised.

We were in front of one of the most beatiful beaches in Mahè. The atmosphere was extremely friendly and welcoming. The room was nice with very comfortable bed and pillows. The bathroom was new and well working. Good cleaness. All the staff was amazing and available. The hotel is close to restaurants and small shops for buying souvenirs and local goods.
