Our favourite stay in the Seychelles! Raffles was one of our stops during our honeymoon in the Seychelles and, after staying in four different hotels across the islands, it ended up being our favourite! They really made our stay memorable from beginning to end. Our villa was amazing; the view was stunning! The villa itself and the facilities around the resort were very well maintained, clean and felt modern. The food was also one of the highlights. Breakfast had plenty of freshly made dishes that were served at the table, in addition to the buffet. One thing I loved was having coconut milk available for coffee, tea and other drinks (honestly the best coconut milk I’ve ever had), such a small detail but something I really appreciated. We really enjoyed the Mediterranean and local dishes from the main restaurant, and we especially loved the Creole night with the local food and music. I should also mention the Sushi Room, as it was honestly some of the best sushi we have ever had. There were also plenty of activities available at the resort. We enjoyed having equipment available at the beach for water activities. We also enjoyed the outdoor yoga session with Tarun, which was a great experience with an amazing view. We also did the Couples Bliss Massage at the spa in one of the open treatment rooms which had a great view, and it was one of the best massages we’ve ever had. Unfortunately we didn’t keep note of the names of the two ladies who treated us because we thought we would return for another massage, but they were both lovely and definitely deserve a mention. The only feedback we would give is that we would have loved to have more shared spa facilities, such as a sauna, steam room or jacuzzi, where couples could relax together instead of having separate facilities for men and women only as it is implemented now. The concierge team helped us organise several activities before and during our stay. However, this was probably the one department where we felt there was the most room for improvement. We often had to contact them ourselves to ask for pickup times and meeting points for the activities they had booked for us. On one occasion, the pickup time for our diving lesson was much earlier than we expected in the morning (the place was really near the hotel), so we ended up not being able to have a proper breakfast or enjoy it. We also think it would really help if guests received all the activity details in advance like pick up time and location written by email or a message instead of the guests having to ask all the time before each activity. In general, we think the experience could be improved by providing a general WhatsApp contact for the concierge and the main hotel departments upon check-in. During our stay, we received a few WhatsApp numbers for specific staff members. Apart from Margaret, who was always available, we didn’t always receive a reply from the others, sometimes because they were off duty or unavailable. Having one WhatsApp number per department would make communication much easier, as there would always be someone available to respond. It would also allow guests to ask quick questions, book spa treatments and ask for information, change restaurant reservations or confirm activity details without having to visit reception, send emails that may delay the process or return to the room to call each department. We also met so many people working there who really made a difference to our stay. Margaret at reception was the first person we met, and she immediately made us feel welcome. She was so helpful from the beginning until the end of our stay and honestly made a real difference to our experience. Ricky, one of the buggy drivers, was another person we will remember. We were always happy whenever he came to pick us up because we really connected with him. He gave us great recommendations both inside and outside the resort, including where to go snorkeling and many other places to visit. We would also like to thank Frank and Melton from the beach team, Mélia and Morey from the main restaurant, Natalie the nurse, Roy who looked after us during our private beach dinner, and Biju, who made sure our villa was comfortable every evening. Even the people we haven’t mentioned were incredibly kind. All of the buggy drivers were always polite, helpful and quick to arrive whenever we called, and in general every member of staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Overall, we had an unforgettable honeymoon there. We really hope to visit again in the near future.
