Aparthotel Marinas de Nerja

Our experience with this hotel was all around fantastic, it was our first holiday abroad with our baby, he really enjoyed kids club which is a little area for children to play under parent supervision. Most days we got a short 10 min taxi into Nerja town which only cost around 7-10€ which we found good. Nerja town itself is absolutely breathtaking we adored it. The staff all seemed very friendly and one of the hotel workers I think his name was Leo or Leon was brilliant with our 1 year old and he was very friendly and smiley everytime we saw/spoke to him and he took the time to play table tennis with us. The food was great and loads of variety however the dining room is quite busy but that’s expected at such a large hotel. Our room was lovely and very spacious and clean with a great sea view and they provided a comfortable travel cot for our baby. The only thing that we were shocked at and somewhat annoyed with is we payed for an all inclusive holiday to which on our final day they cut our wristbands off at 12 in the afternoon meaning we had to go all day untill 7pm when our transfer picked us up with no food with a baby. Luckily we had some money left over to eat out but if we hadn’t of had any money left we’d of gone hungry all day and our son wouldn’t of been able to eat at such a young age it’s crucial to have 3 meals a day. We found it really bad they did that which leads on to the fact I read a review from 2024 which said the same about the wristbands being cut off and the hotel replied saying they’d look into it but it seems 2 years on they’re still doing it! We would stay here again overall , nerja is the main attraction to this hotel.

We stayed here for a couple of nights half board and enjoyed the location. Check in was slow and bureaucratic probably took 25 minutes... with information overload! Parking was easy outside and sat nav spot on ! The room we had was classed as a studio with a mini kitchen which we didn't use, not sure how you would use it in such a small space without any table / chairs to eat at,it felt unnecessary as the board basis we booked meant our meals were catered for. We noticed that they're not providing any cleaning products in the kitchen even though it had lots of pots, and pans and a big sink.... The bathroom was a bit dated with a shower over the bath and some black mould under the rim of the basin. We didn't get our room cleaned after we went out and when we returned housekeeping knocked on the door quite late in the afternoon, so after taking showers we declined....it was rather late! The pool area is spacious lots of loungers available and right on the beach. The path to the left leads straight to the town an easy 20 minutes. The dining room was noisy, chaotic and unmanaged at dinner times. There isn't any adult only area and there were many small children making a mess dropping food and spilling food. It wasn't pleasant and it wasn't managed. The quality of the food was okay but without any where pleasant to sit it was spoiled. No drinks not even water was included with our dinner and it felt mean. So messy and mean the dinners were not enjoyable. Breakfast was okay because we went early @7.30 to try and avoid messy eaters.... impossible! We wouldn't stay again even though we enjoyed the location because of the poor dining management,it really was bad. Staff in the dining room didn't help they just pushed a trolley around clearing tables it looked like a canteen full of highchairs!

Out stay in Ona Marinas de Nerja was amazing. We have stayed in many Spanish hotels before, but the food in the hotel was certainly the best we ever had. For breakfast they have everything you can imagine, a variety of hot and cold dishes, lots of fruit, plenty of bread choice, even strawberries and avocado. Dinner was even better - different choices every evening, there was a lot of seafood and even shrimps at 2 of our 3 dinners we had in the hotel. Lots of vegetables to choose from and many many different sweets. The pool bar is also great and the view from the balcony is spectacular. They offer a small, but functional gym. I only wish the guests had complimentary one spa entry. It costs 14€/45 min, so we didn't use it. Everything was perfect, our apartment was huge, it also had the kitchen, but we didn't use it. Only one small recommendation - the salt and pepper could be on the tables. Instead you have to take small packages. But it's just a minor observation.

Superb location right on the beach although not as close to Nerja as expected. Lack of information regarding local buses and any nearby bars/restaurants ( this should also be in Travel agents info pack). There is only one lounge which is not big enough if the hotel is busy. The only other seating area was in reception which is rather cold and soul-less...nowhere cosy to sit and read or chat. Spacious apartment although the main bedroom was a bit of a squeeze to the other side of the bed! Well serviced by the maids but the layer of dust on bedside lights was a surprise and remained throughout our stay. Would have been nice to have some proper pillows and some cushions for the sofa. Plenty of crockery but no bowls for soup or dessert. The food was plentiful and very varied. Meats and fish were usually cooked well and were warm. However the chefs really need lessons in cooking vegetables...they were undercooked and cold every time - had to use the microwave all the time. As for breakfast...the choice was fabulous but their 'grilled' eggs were like rubber Frisbees and the staff did not seem to like being asked for an egg with a runny yolk.😄. We were there for the Christmas gala dinner (that we weren't informed was at lunchtime). This was absolutely superb...very well organised, beautiful food of excellent fine dining standard and the staff were fantastic - they all deserve a big bonus for their service. The entertainment girl had boundless energy and enthusiasm...she is a 'keeper' and deserves praise. All in all a great holiday in a beautiful place and yes, we would go again.

Just arrived back from my stay at marinas de nerja. Hotel brilliant, clean,room and facilities great,staff very friendly and extremely helpful. Value for money. We had half board,food was amazing, soo much to choose from at breakfast and dinner,excellent quality. Area great,30 minute walk into nerja or taxi very cheap. Great experiences with tui .would 100% recommend staying here and will definitely be visiting again. Rwilson.
