Just arrived home today after a pleasant 8 nights stay. Can't fault the hotel but it could certainly do with a lick of paint in the corridors where the bedrooms are. The carpet has seen better days too. Our room was quite big. We were lucky enough to get a pool and sea view. We were on the second floor so didn't need to use a lift. Wi fi is excellent as is the night time entertainment. We weren't expecting any with it being January. All the staff are lovely and smiley. The guys in charge of entertainment were very funny and we enjoyed playing games during the day with other guests, Spanish and English alike. Yesterday in the final of a game it was a Brit and a Spaniard. The winner got to keep the Rock of Gibraltar and the Brit who won (my husband) 😂saved us from a national catastrophe 😂. TV in our room had 7 English channels with two being for kids. Cleaner came in to clean every day with fresh towels. There was always tables available in the restaurant. Not sure if the same applies later in the season but there was an extra part that they probably use when it's busy. There was usually something you could find to eat but it was invariably cold, apart from the soup. A microwave was available but it's a pain having to do that all the time. There's quite a steep road up to the hotel so I wouldn't recommend if you have mobility issues. To sum up, we really enjoyed our time but wouldn't go again because of the cold food issue.

MedPlaya hotel Bali - Friendly welcome by Stuart on reception. Even had a phone call check in once in our room to make sure all was ok and whether the travel cot had arrived (it hadn’t) nice room great ocean views. Management swapped our room due to ‘ants’ in allocated room but failed to tell us that until we arrived at the original allocated room and the key didn’t work so we had to go back to reception to say the keys didn’t work! However, Travel cot delivered within minutes of arrival to the correct room after management rang to check. Nice touch ! The decor is tired and is looking messy, cracked tiles and musty smelling corridors the hotel is in need of a serious renovation! Even the ‘kids club’ play equipment was dirty. One piece of advice…. Do not have the ice It makes you poorly. Branded spirits served as all inclusive - great! Only Ready Salted crisps on offer for all inclusive behind the bar if you want anything else it’s €2+ which is absolutely ridiculous! Also No bottled water on all inclusive!!!!! You have to pay contactless via the vending machines or €10 for a refillable flask bottle the staff told us…. Highly disappointing since water should be mandatory on all inclusive! You have to have a ticket to exchange for your drinks and when you take your glasses back to the bar you get your tickets back ….. why when you have bands on for all inclusive? Even the staff thought it pointless when we asked them once you get to know them. Trying to be sustainable clearly isn’t working! Most staff members smiley and happy and always have a hello - except from 1 staff member who never had a smile and always seemed as if us English were an inconvenience. One staff member really took to our little one she was great with her - didn’t catch her name but thank you ! Our little one loved you ! Room keys stop working intermittently leading to us needing to go back to reception multiple times to have it reset as contactless key cards for rooms. One downside and being very picky (but honest) is the dirty wall behind the bar in the indoor entertainment areas Paradise Bar - black mould on the wall could pose a potential problem later on. Entertainment starts late 21:00-22:15 and is done in 45 mins then karaoke/music afterwards.. a little disappointing. Good thing is we couldn’t hear it from our room. The entertainment team .. yes we were in Spain on holiday but they spoke Spanish the entire time during shows/bingo etc despite there being a very good number of English in the hotel and them being able to speak good English but didn’t which to us is ignorant because English is a universal language especially as us and many other English tried very hard to speak Spanish ! Entertainment team as a whole is non existent except from bingo nights or ‘show nights’ when we only saw 1 member of the team pretty much all holiday. The kids splash pool was open at the start of our holiday and then closed on Tuesday and left locked so the only really nice day of weather when our little one wanted to use the pool we couldn’t… disappointing. The bathroom … you can barely sit in the bath let alone move in it due to the odd shape?…. The tiling and grouting needs doing again as it’s not finished and looks ugly. The shower handrail is wobbly and a danger to use. Breakfast - plenty of choice but not really for us. It was a lovely holiday but there were disappointments for us staying here. I can’t imagine it at high season as it is right now.

Comfortable bedrooms, cleanliness could not be faulted , and the hotel apart from being up a steep hill is very well located . Food wise there is much room for improvement .

The food is great and all the staff are fab and very friendly as I previously stated all the entertainment team are fab, Rai, Pablo, Anna and Jay. The med playa players are fantastic dancers Karen, Anna Paula, Vanessa the singers are Alvero and Antonio. There were a couple of girls singers too. I would recommend this hotel. The bar staff are lovely too. The cleaners do a great job the place is spotless this is third time at this hotel.

Hotel’s been recently renovated and common areas looks much better. Staff at the reception was lovely. Rooms are basic but good enough. We were there during the school holidays and sadly there was no kids entertainment at all which was a shame.
