Benalma Hotel Costa del Sol

Great location, beautiful sea view. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Food and beverages excellent. Staff very friendly and overall service was great. Overall Value for money.

Very nice hotel, spotlessly clean. The rooms are thoroughly cleaned daily. All rooms appear to have a sea view, on booking we upgraded to a Grand room which was on the 10th floor with stunning panoramic views of the sea. We stayed all inclusive, plenty to choose from whether it’s fruit, salad, meat, vegetarian dishes you are after and plenty desserts; I never seen any shortages throughout the buffet even when arriving that bit later for evening meal. Staff are very accommodating and friendly, they go out their way to please. I had no trouble sleeping as the rooms were very comfortable and no noise was heard to disturb. The pool is a bit of a walk but all on flat ground once you leave the back gate of the hotel. The hotel itself is a taxi/bus ride from Benalmádena, there is a small supermarket close by though if you are looking for drink/snacks for your room. All in all, a pleasant stay, maybe a little overpriced but isn’t everything these days. Would I return? Not sure due to the location as we like our night time strolls ; if you are looking for a clean and comfortable hotel for a quiet break this is ideal.

I had the pleasure of staying here with friends last week. It was the most beautiful clean hotel, with attentive staff and amazing food, spacious rooms, stunning views and beautiful beach. Before our arrival I was in communication with Carolina who was so helpful and friendly and went above and beyond. We are all looking forward to returning again soon. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The first thing to say is how very friendly, cheerful, helpful and professional the staff were from reception to the bars, restaurants, cleaning and maintenance (except one person and I told management about her so I won't go further). The hotel is contemporary, pleasant, very clean and well maintained. We had great sea views from our 11th floor "grand" room, the wifi worked well as did the lifts. We were disappointed with the food in the Sea View Buffet Restaurant or 'canteen'; there was a good selection but, especially at breakfast, the cooked items were luke warm at best; the lunch offering was almost the same as at dinner. The hotel seems to be popular with groups of male golfers and 'hen parties' so the level of noise could be rather high. Because we were booked for more than a week we were allowed one 'free' booking in the Bthai restaurant and one in the Bonita Beach restaurant. The food in the Bonita Beach was fine but very disappointing in the Bthai. Of two starters and two mains only my wife's starter was good; spring rolls which I can do at home, straight from the pack and into the air fryer for a few minutes. I don't think that my 'Thai chicken red curry' had ever seen any garlic, ginger or chilli and my wife's 10Euro supplement prawn dish was a bowl of soggy vegetables and pasta with 5 very small prawns. We complained about the food, didn't eat much of it and didn't pay the supplement. We found it strange having to walk out of the hotel grounds and along a path (either way) and in through a security gate to access either of the two pools; even more strange that the pool bars stopped serving at 5pm and the pool areas closed at 6pm. The result was having guests from the pools sitting in the lobby bar in swim wear having a drink. Having said how great the staff were it is unfair to single out individuals but these are the names that we remember; Daniel, Darlin, Elysia, Leo, Magda, Patricia and Roberto; we won't be returning.
