Iberostar Waves Malaga Playa

I have stayed here a few times now. Once, twenty years ago, when it was called the Ferrox, I think. Absolutely still fantastic. Firstly, a really interesting building in its own way. Built in a Moorish property design. The rooms have great views. Housekeeping is absolutely extraordinary. Constant public areas are constantly being serviced. Nothing shows any wear and tear. Maintenance really quick if needed. Spotless (yes, really). Facilities are fantastic. The main pool is amazing. The restaurant is lovely. Constant "live" cooking and refreshments by the kitchen staff of the buffet. The food was really varied. I love the fact that about half a dozen main, cooked food "meats" were available to order at the buffet. Not dozens of warm Bain Marie's of questionable quality. The huge selection of cold starters and sweets was just fabulous. Breakfast was equally a great experience. I loved the wonderful lady, who cooked omelettes to order. A highlight. Lovely soul. Met, greeted, and shown to a table by welcoming staff was very pleasant. I will be back next year if possible. The Beach is a one-minute walk away through a key card gate. Absolutely lovely beach on its own. So many activities to join in if you want as well. Absolutely recommend. The hotel punches way above its VFM weight. THANK YOU.

Hello we stayed at Iberostar wave Malaga for 1 week. Overall it was a good hotel with amenities and clean. But the let down was the staff reception no welcome just focus on upselling upgrade. The waiting staff are rude ( I was surprised as there were good reviews about service) Cleaning of room was very good. The spa is a gimmick myself and partner had manicure and pedicure the service is very poor and overpriced. Also hotel is in the middle of nowhere. Would I return? Not to this location.. But Iberostar has good hotels.. Regards MMT

The hotel is great and the staff are friendly and welcoming.. the food is excellent and the drinks very good , upgraded to all inclusive that included a lot off nice touches like ice creams and coffees and cocktails and hot dogs etc for snacks in the afternoon. Loads of sunbeds and massive pool..unfortunately we will not be returning but nothing to do with the hotel as I have said it’s brilliant.. . The problem was we knew it wasn’t adults only but booked out of season thinking not many kids . We never realised other countries like France etc have different school holidays. The parents of these children just left them to run riot in the restaurant (playing ball and screaming and shouting) and just left them running around the entertainment room annoying everyone while they sat outside having drinks.. we never let our kids out our sight when they were young and couldn’t understand these people doing this.. the only way we would go back if it changed to adults only areas at night in bar and restaurant..

I visited with my daughter for 3 nights to attend a family wedding nearby. The Hotel was exceptional and we only wished we could have stayed longer. Check in was easy and although our room wasn't quite ready a complimentary drink voucher, and a quick message when it was ready caused no issues. Each member of the reception team that we met then remembered our room number/name for the next time - great customer service and thank you Ana and Fernando. Our room was spacious and the bathroom wonderful. Meals were also very good with plenty of choice of food, with plenty of fresh fruit and salads. We noticed a good children's meal section and availability of plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. The filtered water stations located around the Hotel were great for topping up your water bottle, or using the jugs provided in youg room. The Spa looked amazing but unfortunately we didn't have time to use it, but we did swim and do aquafit in the large outdoor pool which was very clean. All the Hotel interior and outside areas were clean and tidy. All the staff friendly. We chose this Hotel really based on its location and availability for the dates we needed, but would definitely return for a longer stay. Overall lovely Hotel, great beach front location and plenty of activities going on. The local market takes place next to the Hotel on a Monday and that was well eoth a visit.

Have been coming to torrox for many years and decided to try the hotel instead of an apartment. Must say was very impressed. The hotel is very clean,the staff are very friendly and helpful. The buffet restaurant has plenty of choice,even for the picky eaters in our party. Will definitely come back again and recommend it to family and friends. Excellent setting right on the beach front and near to the amenities.
