After massive good experiences in Sol Meliá Don Marco in Torremolinos and Sol Meliá Lanzarote… time to try a new one in Marbella and … even better than before. From the receptionist charm and professionalism ( Lucia ) in the check in till her friendliness again in the check out. The resort has everything you can wish with the right distances among facilities, enough sun beds and umbrellas in the pool, not massive crowded or packed. The room was massive, sea view and close to the rest of facilities, third floor on an easy stairs access if you wish to try some fitness. Good variety on the menus either breakfast, lunch or dinner; starters, salads, first, meat, deserts, etc. The meal timings are very good balance so no need to be on rush to get on time in the restaurant. The four bars are very good placed close to the pool, evenings show or snacks area and they serve very fast, no queues. The resort is easy UBER distance to Estepona, Puerto Banus and Marbella, public bus Services available too walking by 10 minutes to the bus stop. Summarising, a place to go and repeat where everything is settled to offer a great holidays to the guests and very professional, kind, efficient and lovely staff.
We were a group of 12 golfers staying for 7 days. The hotel is in an excellent location for golf, Marbella and Puerto Banus. All of the staff were excellent especially the bar staff and reception 👏 👍. I would like to say a massive thank you to the reception staff and manager who helped get us transport to the Airport ( Malaga) when our bus failed to pick us up on Departure Day. My apologies for not having names but it was a bit of a panic at the time. So many thanks everyone who made it such a great golfing week 😎👍
Wow just got back from Sol Marbella and what a great time we had! I went with my two boys and they had a great time! The room was great and the staff were great with the boys especially Isabel and Pablo!! If there wasn’t anything in the buffet they didn’t like they made sure the chef made something for them!! The only downside was the pool was still very cold as it’s not heated but the boys still made the most of it!
Lovely hotel, Lovely Staff, Lovely food Loved the pool
The hotel room was big with an amazing view onto the Costa and Gibraltar in the distance. Beds felt uncomfortable and bedsheets were too thin for February with no warmer duvet inbetween which we then requested. State of repair was such that cement pieces fell out of the top balcony doors and onto the floor on a particular windy night and a piece of roofing landed on our balcony. To be fair the entire area had been battered with rain, storm and bad weather for weeks. The bathroom was huge and had a walk-in shower and had all the soaps in dispensers. Air con was working fine. The hotel has huge grounds and must be even nicer in the Summer months. There were football grounds, a small gym and a very small pool considering the size of the hotel. The beach is just outside the hotel and you can go for long beach walks. The food variety has been great but the quality wasn’t fantastic. It was edible but steaks were like shoe soles and baked eggs were just thrown onto a pile without love by the chef who freshly prepared them. Vegetables were often overcooked. There was plenty of salad and fresh vegetables though. Coffees were the usual abysmal hotel coffee machine style. Try Espresso and add milk separately. Some of the children in our group hardly ate any food whilst other kids in our group ate mountains of food. There is an Aldi in walking distance and McD is not too far to drive for such cases. The snack bar for all inclusive guests provided some alternatives with burgers and hot dogs. The hotel is clean. There is onsite parking which makes sense as outside parking gets full quickly, even in winter. What was most notable, however, was the distinct lack of friendliness throughout the hotel, and I speak the lingo. It is a shame as it created a sense of seriousness. Staff were helpful but I rarely saw a smile on staff’s faces. Asking for a coffee or water at the bar felt like I had asked them for a massive favour they were not ready to oblige. It might have been a a temporary blip caused by bad news or bad management.
