Alua Calvia (ex. Dreams Calvia Mallorca)

This is our second time at this hotel and it did not disappoint. Although there is only one restaurant open in the evening it is plenty big enough to accommodate everyone. Rooms are comfortable and clean, would have liked more tea bags and milk but not an issue as there is a supermarket next door. There is no rush for sunbeds in the morning and plenty of pools to choose from should you want a quite day or day of joining activities. The fitness team really are the best. They remember every guest and what country they are from , include everyone from kids to pensioners. The range of activities has something for everyone , it’s even fun if you just want to sit and watch others. Big fans of Rudy Alessia and Alejandra these guys work so hard and really made our holiday it wouldn’t be the same without them. The location is spot on, 5 mins walk to the beach and bars and restaurants with the strip being at the other end another 5 mins walk . So close enough if you want a night out but far away enough if you want some peace and quiet. The hotel was a mix of families, couples and the odd girls and boys holiday but no loud groups and everyone was very friendly and mixed well. Palma nova is 5 minutes in a cab and didn’t cost anymore than 10 euros. Would recommend Annabels for breakfast lunch or diner and we went to Bambuu one evening which was a very nice vibe We are already looking to go back again with friends for a long weekend

Lovely hotel for an affordable girls holiday! Had three lovely pool areas with plenty of sun loungers at the main pool. The gym was decent for a hotel gym. We only had breakfast included which we enjoyed. The rooms were cleaned daily and the hotel was nicely decorated. Would definitely recommend when visiting with friends or even as a family holiday. Great location close to the beach and also if planning on going out to bars/the strip!

After paying a couple of thousand euros for an all-inclusive holiday, we expected a genuine 4-star experience. Unfortunately, this hotel falls well short of that standard and is, in our opinion, a 3-star hotel at best. From the moment we arrived, we were asked if we wanted to pay extra to upgrade our room. We declined because we’d already spent a significant amount and expected the standard room to meet the advertised 4-star rating. Whether it was coincidence or not, we were left feeling that because we refused the upgrade, we were given one of the least desirable rooms. Although the room was clean and fresh towels were provided daily, the balcony overlooked a large rooftop on the neighbouring building that sat almost level with ours. It looked as though someone could easily access it from the balcony. The rooftop was covered in bottle caps, chewing gum and rubbish, hardly the view you’d hope for. More concerning was opening the balcony door one day to find a man walking across the rooftop without any warning from the hotel that this area was accessible. It was enough to make us question how secure the room actually was. To make matters worse, the outer pane of glass on the balcony door appeared to separate from the frame every time the door was closed, which is unacceptable from both a maintenance and safety perspective. The restaurant was one of the biggest disappointments. While there was plenty of food available, it was average at best. What really let the hotel down was the service. Staff often stood chatting amongst themselves or focused on guests they seemed familiar with while others were left waiting. We regularly waited 15 minutes or more just for someone to ask if we wanted drinks, and on several occasions we managed to have had our main and dessert from the buffet before our drinks. More than once, we had to get up from the table and ask staff if someone could take our order. The organisation in the restaurant was equally poor. Staff didn’t appear to know which room numbers had been assigned to which tables. One evening we were shown to a table that was already occupied by another couple, creating a very awkward situation made worse by the language barrier. We were then left sitting at the table immediately beside them. It was embarrassing and completely avoidable. The snack bar was no better. I ordered a Caesar salad and my partner ordered chicken wings. Instead, he was served fish and chips while I received a large Caesar salad. We pointed out the mistake before eating. The server seemed confused about what had actually been ordered, took both meals away, and after another 10-minute wait brought back much smaller portions. My full-sized Caesar salad returned in what looked like a cereal bowl with barely any chicken. It honestly felt like we’d been given leftovers rather than fresh meals. Again, the service was slow, disorganised and disappointing. The hotel itself is also in need of maintenance. Around the pool, tiles were loose and falling off, and the wall surrounding the upper seating area overlooking the pool desperately needs re-grouting. It looks neglected and isn’t what you’d expect from a hotel claiming to be 4-star. To be fair, housekeeping did a good job. The rooms were cleaned well, towels were fresh every day, and the hotel is around a 15-minute walk from the strip, which is convenient. Sadly, that’s where the positives end. This hotel appears to rely on its 4-star rating, but it simply doesn’t deliver a 4-star experience. Poor customer service, disorganised dining, questionable room maintenance, visible safety concerns and a lack of attention to detail meant our holiday never felt like the quality we’d paid for. We won’t be returning, and if you’re booking this hotel based on its 4-star rating, I’d strongly recommend lowering your expectations or looking elsewhere.

Main restaurant food cold and was told to heat up in microwave. Also room could have been cleaner. Most staff rude or unfriendly , no smiles or greetings
