AluaSun Continental Park

Well maintained hotel, very helpful staff, great location for families with small children, comfortable beds. Do not forget to bring along some mosquito repelent for the nights as the hotel is near to the national park with lots of water areas and swamps..! Also ask for the room facing the mountains, you will get much less direct sunlight into the room, less noise from the pool and common areas and you will have a perfect view on the sunset skies :)

Upon arrival, the reception area stinks of sewers. Checked in no problem. Rooms on the small side especially if you have children with you. No kettle in the room, does have fridge and hairdryer. Tiny balconies. The pool doesn’t have nowhere near enough sun-beds and id hate to see it in the summer holidays! The pool itself was absolutely freezing, i know they are cold as we are hot/burning, but this pool didn’t get any warmer the longer you stayed in it. I went in once and that was enough. Foods hit and miss, breakfast bacon was always burned. Im a very fussy eater but i managed to always find something. Cant comment on the entertainment as we went out every evening. Oh and the pool bar don’t allow you to fill your own bottles.

Room was fine. Bed was comfy. No issues with the bathroom or shower. Reception often had a foul smell. Food selection and quality not as expected and was disappointing. Checking in and out was good. Pool area could do with more sun loungers. The stair area is quite cavernous so it was very noisy when people came up from the entertainment at night. Probably wouldn’t stay there again.

I want to start by say location of this hotel was great, Beach is absolutely stunning and the main reason for us booking, This hotel is couple of minutes walk from beach which was great with regards to hotel here are my views Positives / Bedrooms modern and clean Bathroom clean modern Balcony fits two chairs and table we had a view of pool and sea Beds and pillows comfortable however it is two singles pushed together so mind the gap Air con very good Reception staff pleasant Lift access good No rush for subbed as nobody puts towels down till gone 10am Negatives / Food is probably the worst I’ve had at any hotel I was thankful were only half board so ate out whenever we could minimal meat on offer that wasn’t really edible it was pure fat and skin, Breakfast I ate yogurt each morning as the hot options where not great and always cold, one morning I stood at the omelette station in typical English fashion waiting patiently in the eye line of chef only to be completely ignored for a good 10 mins while she continued to flip fried eggs, We didn’t travel with kids but we saw very few food options for kids accept very cheap pizza There is not enough staff at the food hall No fresh water available with meals all drinks are out of machines No fresh water in room fridge on arrival which I’ve never not had water in fridge at any hotel I’ve stayed in Staff in food hall look miserable all the time Not many English guests mainly German and Spanish lots of over 60s Corridors smell of drains whenever you come out the lift Entertainment basic usual karaoke and Spanish dancers please beware of safety as evening entertainment is right next to pool we saw a few toddlers wonder dangerously close to pool Safe in our room didn’t work and balcony door doesn’t lock However the worst part of our stay came at checkout we had a late flight and were offered towels to shower room in the basement next to gym as we walked down the stairs the stench was horrific pure filthy drain smell I opened the door to the shower cubicle and there must have been 50 flys/ mosquitoes in the actual shower it was like something out of a horror film I went to reception and did inform then I was unable to shower and why receptionist was very apologetic and looked mortified but I suspect they are aware something is not right down in that area All in all this hotel is not 4* lots of obvious cost cutting could be a lot better if they sorted food out and the drain issue is a matter of urgency would I recommend this hotel sadly not however Playa de Muro is lovely

Everything was so good , I really recommend this hotel, the food is delicious and the staff is friendly and helpful. Everything is clean . The beach is just 2 minutes walks from the hotel. I definitely I will go back.
