BQ Apolo

I had a fabulous stay at the BQ Apolo. It’s a lovely modern hotel within a stones throw of the beach. Rooms are light and airy, super comfortable bed and well equipped bathroom with toiletries. Full length mirror, fridge and tv. Large dining room where a gorgeous and varied buffet breakfast is served. Eggs cooked to order too. I enjoyed the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with fresh artisan crusty bread. I spotted the bottles of cava in an ice bucket and thought, why not, I’m on holiday. Coffee was really good from the machine, just help yourself. I used the bar in the evenings for a nightime cappuccino as there are no facilities in your room to make a hot drink. Would have been good to have a kettle though. Would recommend this hotel which is close to Palma, I walked along the promenade into Palma a few times, it’s a good hour and a half. Alternatively you can get the bus from the top of the road instead for 2/3 euros. Ca’n pastilla had a lovely quiet feel with plenty of tapas cafes/restaurants locally to enjoy a glass of sangria and some snacks. I can highly recommend the restaurant Fins Tapas and Cocktails. I went on my last night and the food was superb.

Excellent hotel, good location. Quick check-in. Friendly and efficient staff. Clean and bright room with good sized balcony. WiFi and air conditioning were good. Downsides were charging for use of the safe in a 4 star hotel and the fridge not being cold enough. Be aware that this resort is very near Palma airport, so there is some aircraft noise but it didn't bother us too much.
