Upon arrival, we were charged the environmental tax. Later, we discovered that the amount had been calculated incorrectly and that we needed to pay extra. However, when I went to reception the next day because my room key had stopped working, the staff immediately brought up the outstanding payment. I explained that I didn’t have my phone with me and that my boyfriend would settle it later that day. Considering the mistake was on the hotel’s side, I felt the reception staff could have handled the situation more politely. The food was extremely disappointing. The breakfast selection was poor, and after a few days I stopped bothering to get up for it. Lunch and dinner were very repetitive, with paella or overcooked meat being served almost every day. It also seemed like there wasn’t enough food available for the number of guests staying at the hotel. There were several occasions when trays were empty, and guests had to wait a long time for them to be refilled. Thankfully, salt and pepper were available on the tables because most dishes lacked flavour. The pizza served at the pool bar was one of the few food options I actually enjoyed, and I ended up eating there most days. The pool bar service was inconsistent. One older member of staff was particularly rude to me and told me I needed to wear additional clothing when ordering a drink, despite being in the pool area and wearing my swimming costume. What made this more frustrating was that she served another guest in a swimming costume immediately afterwards without any issue. It felt like different rules were being applied to different people. The same staff member also refused to provide a clean glass when ordering a new drink, which I found quite strange. The entertainment team was generally good, but one incident stood out. Guests were invited to watch a sangria-making demonstration and were led to believe they would receive a free sangria afterwards. People stood in the sun for around 40 minutes watching the demonstration, only to be told at the end that they had to pay €1 for the drink. It felt like another example of the hotel trying to charge guests for things at every opportunity. The same applied to fresh orange juice, which cost €2.50 for a small glass, while all-inclusive guests were only offered processed juices from machines. On a positive note, the hotel was generally clean. However, when we arrived, the larger pool looked dirty, and it was obvious that the sun loungers were not being cleaned regularly. I’ve stayed in three-star hotels in Gran Canaria where the loungers were cleaned every evening, so I expected better standards here. Our room also had a plumbing issue, and there was a strong unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom. We had paid extra for a better-view room, so we expected everything to be in excellent condition. While there were a few rude staff members, most of the entertainment team were fantastic. In particular, Ray and Natalia were always friendly, happy to chat, and helped make the stay more enjoyable. Overall, the hotel had some positive aspects, but the poor food quality, inconsistent service, extra charges, and maintenance issues meant it did not live up to expectations.

Lovely little resort! Ray from the entertainment staff was very fun and always happy. Beach was great and just a 2 minute walk away. Great for a short break away!
