Close to the beach, which was just over the road and then past the other hotel run by the same company (the concord). However this was the best thing about the hotel. The rooms were functional and basically clean, but showing a lot of signs of use and long over due a refurb - our bathroom door was a sliding one but had come off its rails and just been shoved open so couldn't close it, when we tried big balls of dust and fluff came out and these remained after the cleaners had been. The food was of decent quality but not very warm, there were slightly different dishes each night, but for example the paella had very little meat in it and the pepperoni pizza had barely one piece of pepperoni per slice (sometimes half depending on how it was cut), yet in the cold meats section there were massive piles of pepperoni so this seems like unneccessary penny pinching. We paid extra for a pool view room, and the room we had was technically on the pool side but faced in to the street, even if we leaned out of the balcony we still couldn't see the pool as their was a massive stage/awning thing right outside our room with loud speakers and "entertainment" every night until 11pm, great for a family with 2 small children (which the hotel knew when we booked). The charge to use the safe is pretty extortionate considering the room rate already paid. We had 3 people staying in the room, but when we arrived there were only 2 towels and the only option they could give us was to pay the 10 euros for a pool towel, which they then wanted cash for and the cash machine at the hotel charged 6 euros to get cash out. Can Picafort is lovely, and we would go again, but not to this hotel, as they are charging 4 star prices but the actual experience is a bit below par. The staff were also a bit hit or miss, some of them were friendly and tried to be helpful, but others were unhelpful and even sarcastic "what do you want me to do, magic a towel out of thin air", Um like, yes actually, you're a hotel, how do you not have clean towels available!

First impressions of the hotel was a horror show. We arrived in our family group of 3 families and the receptionist fled halfway through an already abysmal welcome to leave the poor night porter to deal with a major health and safety breach by reception. After an inordinately long time and late in the evening, our children opened the door to our apartment in the annex to a horrified family sleeping in our/their room. After making our desperate apologies to the poor family and trying to calm our own children amid a high-risk situation, we had to traipse all the way back to reception across the road to inform reception that they had made a major privacy and security breach that could have resulted in physical harm. By the time we got an empty apartment that we had already paid € thousands for, we had experienced over an hour and a half of chaos at reception and were told to come back in the morning to ensure we could stay in that apartment. The first thing my eldest child (10) did was check the lock in the room and discovered it did not lock at all, so he asked to put a chair against it. We had to come back in the morning anyway as we had paid for the gold band all-inclusive and the reception had no gold bands left. In the end, it took until late the next day before we could empty our suitcases at least. I spoke with a manager the following morning to raise our serious concerns which included the security of the apartment as we had children and she apologised. Maintenance fixed the door so it could actually lock from the inside but we checked from the outside and realised that even when double-locked, anyone with a key card/wrist card could still unlock the door and enter the room. This obviously makes the double-lock useless and dangerous and no doubt is the same lock system throughout the already insecure annex and hotel. This major security weakness remained unfixed throughout the holiday and our children kept the chair against the door at night. Otherwise, we had to ask for clean towels twice from reception and the shower gel remained empty throughout our stay and we purchased our own. I’ll focus on the positives for a moment: housekeeping, bar and restaurant staff really lovely and hardworking, amenities clean, spa very enjoyable, location close to the amazing beach in a quieter part of the town which suited our family group. The hotel was a good base for exploring the area if you get a good price point. Unfortunately, I don’t think we did get value as the hotel was geared towards squeezing out more money from visitors (although not upselling), keeping staff to a bare minimum, and cutting costs to the detriment of quality service and standards. Management was barely visible throughout the stay unless eating their lunch during busy service. For example, there was a serious room towel problem for all of the families and other guests. Safes were charged and you paid for an exchange of pool towels. Regardless of your all-inclusive band, the hotel enforces a counter/token system for pool drinks in plastic cups – you cannot get another drink unless you return the cups or hand over counters. This obviously saves staff having to go near the pool areas and saves the hotel a few €, but it does not make it convenient for customers who would return cups anyway but who have to wait in line to get the return of counters/tokens. Also, the hotel forces all customers to queue for any served drink at the hotel outside at the pool bar opening even at night. Again, this means that the hotel can reduce staffing costs as the lovely main bar is not staffed. Table service is non-existent and we couldn’t even get a wine menu to pay for nicer wine which we don’t mind doing at any all-inclusive. In my opinion, all of this is ridiculous for any hotel, never mind a 4* hotel for which customers have saved up all year and paid € thousands. There was not much food choice in comparison with other places we have visited on the island, the cuts of meat used were the less expensive variety, and choice decreased the later you arrived during service. There was no white bread or baguettes one day, and no butter another. Food was nice though but functional at times – our 3 families ate out and paid elsewhere a 1/3 of the nights even though we were all gold band all-inclusive. We did experience a major difference though at the end of the stay when another manager – we assumed from head office – visited the hotel and there was an immediate buzz about service. Management became more visible, choice of menu expanded and even the food displays in the restaurant improved significantly in the hours after. Too late for our stay unfortunately.

Our party of 12 booked this hotel 9 months prior based on excellent reviews and a fair price point. We had opted for the gold package as we like premium drinks. In the interim, it changed brand to a Globales Hotel. While we were not overly concerned at the time, we probably should have been. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a receptionist whose attitude was surprisingly rude and unwelcoming. There was no warm welcome, no smile, and no sense that she was pleased to receive guests. Instead, she came across as abrupt and uninterested, as though she simply wanted to finish her shift and go home. To make matters worse, after checking in one family from our group, she left the reception desk entirely, leaving the night porter to complete the check-in for the remaining families. Considering there were only three families to check in, this felt unprofessional and gave a very poor first impression of the hotel. Unfortunately, this wasn’t an isolated incident. Her dismissive attitude and lack of customer service continued throughout our stay, making several interactions unpleasant and falling well below what we would expect from a four-star hotel. Our room allocation was very confusing. We had specified rooms to be close together especially as there were younger teens sharing. I thought because we had booked directly with the hotel 9 months previously this request would have been honoured. It wasn’t and I was placed in a room over looking shanty town. Please see picture attached. The only saving grace was that it was a quiet part of the hotel and we were not disturbed by any noise. Beds and pillows were comfy although our room wasn’t serviced everyday and even though we had hung the request on the door . So annoying to come back from the beach to shower and no clean towels. The towel situation was also a bone of contention. We received towels that in my opinion were utterly disgusting. Stained with makeup etc. The hotel operates a pool towel policy. €10 deposit per towel and €1 to change it. We weren’t expecting this from a four star resort but we had no choice but to go along with it. I made two attempts to change our towels only to be told they had no towels. Again this is completely unacceptable in my opinion. You are also charged to hire a safe in the room. We paid €45 for 10 days. All these extra add ons after paying thousands to stay n a resort was just very annoying. The food situation is average. Breakfast was very good. I always found options and it was tasty. I never had to wait for a table. Food is definitely not the worst point in this hotel. However, the quality of meat is poor. Obviously using cheaper cuts but it was somewhat grisly. The snack bar is also very poor. As are the daily treats for the kids compared with other four star all inclusive I’ve stayed in. The bar is located outside at the pool. It was normally maned by 1 member of staff. As we were on the gold package we had access to premium drinks. It wasn’t really worth it in my opinion as the offering isn’t extensive. Gold packages normally gives you complete access to all the hotel offerings but not this one. Cocktails are from pre-made jugs. If you are a wine lover, don’t come here. Wine is on tap except for the cava which is drinkable. A special shout out to Amber, Abel, Elaina. Super staff who work very hard. We had a bad situation one evening occur when I tried to get a drink from the bar on the lounge side. An older male member of staff refused to serve me in the most abrupt and rude manner. Told me to go and queue up from the pool side. It was a very upsetting incident to be spoken to so rudely. When I said I’d complain to reception, he reneged and served me . This particular member of staff ran us out of the Lounge at 12.05 one night. I understand that the bar closes at 12 but we were quietly finishing our drinks. I felt like a child being told to go to bed. It was just wild. The entertainment for adults is good. There were some good shows during our stay. Michael Jackson and Tina turner tribute. However, charging people €12 to play bingo was excessive. There are two pools. One smaller one by the spa and a large pool that you can swim lengths. This pool is like a sauna. So hot. The hotel offers a spa. Guests can use it as often as you like. We loved it as did the younger members of our group. All in all, the hotel is in an enviable location from the beach. We took full advantage of this daily with swims and snorkelling expeditions. It’s in a nice quiet area of Can picafort. All in all it’s a very average hotel that can’t even get the basics right.
