Grupotel Playa Camp de Mar

We spent 11 days in this excellent adults only hotel. It also has a very good mix of clients of all ages. Location with lovely scenery and a gorgeous beach. The Grupotel Playa Camp de Mar is everything a 4* hotel should be. Spotless, lovely comfortable rooms with good size balcony. Food is outstanding. The food is hot, plentiful and with great variety each night. A table at the side has food from different wold cuisines every night. Breakfast is excellent. Great variety of everything you could want. Also, we could eat outside on the patio or indoors. No pushing and shoving in the dining room even though the hotel was full. The staff in this hotel are wonderful, and in all areas of the hotel they speak other languages particularly English, French and German. Pleasant, helpful and professional and always with a smile. We will mention Deniesse and Aurelia in the dining room. The bar restaurant has also got great food. Reasonably priced. Entertainment every night in the hotel bar until 11. The hotel manager is always on site and available to clients. The only thing we could fault was the usual. Clients out at 7am to put towels on the sunbeds and then not taking the beds until later in the day. Not very nice in a 4* of this calibre. There are no sunbeds on the lovely sandy beach because of the local Government rules that local should have access {they do} but not having sunbeds is a serious problem for older clientele. Overall the hotel is to be highly recommended. We will be returning.

Our first stay in this lovely friendly hotel, and it will not be our last. Such a friendly atmosphere. We booked a twin room, (two beds together making it huge) sea view and balcony and we were not disappointed. The room was immaculately clean, Dora did a fabulous job! The lifeguard is very helpful to any guests needing sunbeds/cushions etc On my birthday I had a bottle of fizz and glasses left in the room, which was a lovely surprise from the hotel :) They even had my daughters flowers she ordered from a local florist from Canada delivered to my room :) We booked half board, glad we did, the food was beautiful. The restaurant is nice and airy and tables not all cramped together. The food was so nice we only ate out once for my birthday, we usually go out a few times for dinner, but we did not want to, which is unusual, and it's probably the best food, in taste and presentation that we've ever had in a 4 star hotel. The chefs and all the staff are a credit to this hotel. A very BIG shout out to Rodrigo, who was amazing at organising the daytime activities for guests, we had a lovely last 3 days playing all the games/quiz etc we just wish he had been there the week before, as there were no daytime activities our first seven days, and we were only there 10 days, maybe it's just a seasonal thing, but it made our holiday even more memorable and special, as we love doing activities with other guests and Rodrigo made it so much fun :) Kettles and tea making facilities in the room were a blessing. Theres not much in the way of shops here, but that suited us very well, it's only a 15 min bus ride to lots of shops etc We just enjoyed the natural beauty and being out of the hustle and bustle of busy towns and built up tourist areas. We will definitely be returning next year and would highly recommend this wonderful hotel which is situated in a beautiful place.

We have been to the hotel many times over the last 20years and have always enjoyed the experience of a great location and a well run and spotless hotel. However we both thought that the evening meal is not up to the standard it has been in previous years especially the carvery area which does not seem to have the choice it did in the past. Something we feel could be easily rectified. All other aspects of the hotel were still very good

This was our 5th time visiting. We had again the most beautiful room on the 6th floor. It was immaculate, infact it looked as though we were the first people in the room it was that clean. The familiar view from the balcony is breathtaking. The table and chairs on the balcony are of the highest quality and very comfortable. Shampoo conditioner and body lotion are all supplied and are good quality. Breakfast was the best we have ever had and we are well travelled. There are fresh crepes being made on your request. Any kind of egg or omelette with vast choice of filling. Then all of the favourites, sausage, bacon... We ate in the hotel once or twice, always first class with loads of choice. We wanted this year to try the restaurants around the hotel. We were glad we did as again the food was amazing. Entertainment was brilliant, we had a magician, Tina Turner, Spanish Dancers to name but a few. Special shout out to the pool attendant who did not sit down all day. He was constantly getting beds, mats and parasols and every day at 2pm he help a lady who was unsteady on her feet to walk into the pool then sit on the edge. After 10mins he went back and helped her back to her lounger. What a star he is! Only one thing let the hotel down. Now Chris has retired no one asked if we were having a nice time. Check in was basic but no welcome back and check out was just as bland. Now we realise the great difference Chris made as she spoke to everyone, not afraid to ask how things were going an if there was anything she could do to help. I really should have marked down for this but as there were no bad experiences, I feel it would be unfair. I do hope the hotel address this as it has really made us think twice about our return trip booked for September. Feeling valued and made welcome is a huge part of someone's holiday.

We love everything about this resort and hotel all staff,food,atmosphere entertainment excellent the staff go above and beyond to make your stay special, you can easily access other resorts by bus ,drive or taxi,the views are stunning, we have been 3 times now and are planning on going each year x it was my birthday whilst there and they made it very special and im very great full x
