Hipotels Gran Playa de Palma

We spend a wonderful week in this hotel brand the HIPOTELS, this time in Palma ( previous one is hipotel palace Calla Millor ) Location : 15 mn taxi from PMI PALMA airport and cost around 20 euros for the ride. Taxis are easily avalaible at airport, 10 mn waiting time. First impression: very welcoming Checking was hassled free, starting with a refreshing drink served with smile All explanation were provided re the facilities, provided maps to navigate around the area and tips. And lastly, graciously inform us that as returning guests, we were upgraded to a suite on the 4th floor which is huge with an 180 degrés sea view and large balcony overlooking the outdoor swimming pool The bathroom is tastefully designed, enough lights, separate area for bathtub, shower and toilet, which is an important criteria for a lengthy stay. The hotel premises are impressive, modern yet with warm touch of home welcoming feeling and deserve its 5stars label. F&B : breakfast and diners (buffet style ) are served in the main restaurant located on ground floor. Each guest party is assigned to the same table reserved for the whole stay (very cool ) thus allowing guest to order beverage to be served for the next day meals if not yet finished. The foods are of high quality and surely none of the best hotel buffet we tried : catering for any food allergy.. live cooking stations served on demand the best juicy tenderloins, salmon tuna, swordfishes cooked any way you prefer. Cold cuts ( ibérico ham, smoked salmon, cured anchovies, cured ham etc..) are equally savoury. And desserts are as delicious as they are good looking That is one of the reasons we came back to hipotels after trying as well the Cala Milor hotel. The highlights are the gala diner, with an array of local products (local cheese, iberico cured meats, wine etc…) All the staff are very welcoming and attentive and ensure that none items are missing from buffet The spa area is very beautiful, with an small indoor pool, a wonderful sauna with direct view to the sea and hamman and a plunge cold pool (10 degrés) for the hit/cold « contrast therapy » cure . Very cool concept. Outside pool is huge (even if the hotel is at fulll capacity) but transats are taken at peak time Beach area outside of the hotel is disappointing (no fault with the hotel) , not very large stretch of sands and largely overcrowded and noisy and dirty Staff : the hotel staff are very welcoming and attentive. All in all, a very nice stay and highly recommend this hotel brand (both hipotel hippocampus palace at Cala Millor and Palma palace) as it is difficult to be disappointed by the quality of services and the food

Wonderful hotel. Just 10 minutes away from the airport. We did not have any problem finding a free parking space in front of the hotel. The staff exceptional. Room and bathroom were very clean. Food was very good. Friendly waiters and chefs.

This is an excellent, well run hotel and we had a great stay, as retired couple for a week in September. We had a 6th-floor junior suite with sea view, a large room with a big bathroom with bath and separate shower, both excellent. The sea view was lovely but distant, over the pools and across rooftops: the hotel is not on the seafront, so there is a walk of a few hundred metres to the beach. Unfortunately, although the narrow beach and promenade themselves are quite impressive, this (the whole s'Arenal end of Playa de Palma) is not the nicest resort for 5-star guests, being lined with German snack bars, tattoo parlours and cheap tourist shops. No authentic Spain to be had here, or within strolling distance. Though there is a very regular and easy to use bus service into Palma city, taking around 1/2 hour. The airport is close by, but the hotel is not under the flightpath. The hotel atmosphere is classy and spacious but a bit clinical. Everything was nice but not super-luxurious. Cleanliness was outstanding, including the large pool. the pool area is neat and not crowded. The outstanding feature of the hotel was the buffet food at breakfast and dinner. Probably the best we have had at any holiday hotel, with huge choice and delightful presentation. Many items could be cooked on request at the counter - for example 4/5 different fish to grill for dinner. Overall we were delighted by the hotel and would highly recommend it. Not so much the area in which it is located.

We stayed in the hotel as five adults and two babies. The hotel itself, rooms and staff are lovely. We stayed bed and breakfast so couldn’t comment on the evening food. Breakfast was okay but I’m not sure what Brussels sprouts, carrots and popcorn chicken were doing on there. Food at the pool bar was just okay. Nothing special and not really what you’d call 5*. Service around the pool was hit and miss and often depended how close you were situated to the bar. We sat near the kids pool most days (opposite side to the bar) so it was often difficult to get a waiters attention. The rooftop bar was lovely and drinks served were nice. There were only two lifts which was often a nightmare around mealtimes as trying to get in there with a pram was hard work. We’d often have to call them several times before getting one that had space. This was a bit chaotic when one broke. Now the occupancy of the hotel was mainly German people, who I will add were all friendly and chatty. The area surrounding the hotel was described to us as a German Benidorm. Very lively and lots of drunk people. There’s also a super club next door. Going down to the front which was only a short walk away was slightly intimidating the later it got, especially with us having the two babies in prams. My partner and brother in law stayed out one night for a few drinks and one of them almost had his watch stolen. We hired a car and travelled to Cala D’or, Soller and Palma, all beautiful. Really torn writing this review as the hotel itself was so nice but we wouldn’t return due to the area. Had we known what the area was like we wouldn’t have stayed in the first place.

We stayed from Sept 7 till 14 2025 room 534 this was our first visit to this hotel The room was large enough for the 2 of us the food was excellent throughout the stay the staff were all brilliant and the beds were comfortable The hotel and the surroundings area are 99% german occupancy also there are a LOT of bars and nightclubs in the surrounding area with a lot of drunk youngsters wandering around on the sea front If we had know this prior to booking we would have stayed in a quieter area ! No mention when we booked about this with tui !!!!!
