Iberostar Selection Albufera Playa

Our second stay here within the last year and we have loved every minute of it. The buffet restaurants are brilliant, so much choice for kids and vegetarians. Sergio from the restaurant was so welcoming and a fantastic friend to our six year old son. The pools are all amazing and lots to do around the resort with our son. Sofia at the bar is lovely, always very smiley and made the best mojitos! All the staff are so polite and friendly, made us really welcome and nothing was too much for them. The hotel itself and the grounds and spotless, I cannot fault the cleanliness. We had a great holiday and will be back next year!

We went here for the October Half term with Jet 2. Palma airport was very slow going through passport control and the. New checks were not in place. The airport staff were not organised as far as the transfers were concerned. Eventually we found out that we had to book in one desk to be directed to another where we were then told what bus to get on. Alas, no driver at the coach he had to be chased up by the Jet 2 Reps. when he did arrive he did not put one case under the vehicle himself we had to do our own! When we got to the hotel agin we had to get our own cases from under the coach. So a very disappointing beginning to our time in Majorca. On the way back we had a young female driver who lifted everyone’s cases in and out so not all lazy staff The hotel was recently renovated it was nice and clean. The staff were friendly. Restaurant food was good but be ready to have to queue for a table. There are a number of food cooking stations and the quality is good but it does on occasions create another queue. Rooms all have balcony’s however be aware young children could fall through the gaps. There are warning signs on the sliding doors saying that young children should be supervised. My 2 year old granddaughter definitely was not safe on it! Children’s pool is well laid out but the water is cold. Around 50% of all sun beds are out of the sun for at least 50% of the day. Other pools are clean but in October COLD with reasonable sun beds. Beach is child friendly although quite thin. Sun beds cost additional euros if you want them. Some table service available and tables are quickly cleared. Bars are very well run no restrictions on number of drinks etc. The sky bar is a good addition and the pool suitable for young children.

Beautiful hotel, some steps from the beach. Good buffet restaurants with plenty of options for everybody. The staff was amazing, firendly and helpful! The pool areas were great, though the water was a bit cold and it got crowded in the sunny spots. Lovely beach where you could bring your drinks from the hotel. Great rooms, comfortable beds, and a good-sized bathroom. I liked that you got your room key on a wristband, so you never had to think about bringing a card. I would definetely go back, so would our kids. We tried both the greek and spanish restaurants, the Greek one was the best! The only negative things were that the rooms were poorly soundproofed, and the padel court could have been in better shape.

Firstly, it’s a beautiful hotel. Modern, designed well, nice decor and the most gorgeous landscaping. The staff were all foirly friendly, very helpful, but could’ve been a bit nicer! Cleaning staff were top notch - couldn’t do more for you even if you didn’t want a full room clean. (This was offered daily - never experienced that before!) For an all inclusive, the food was great, varied selection through the week - we stayed 9 nights and it was an immediate repeat of the week before. But the food was always fresh and plenty to choose from. Well thought out for kids being able to fend for them selves. Great selection of drinks too. Couldn’t want for more in terms of food and drink. Pools were cold, but it is October! Very clean and fairly well maintained areas. Plenty of sunbeds on offer although they do allow sunbed hogging by laying your towel down - sometimes these beds were ‘reserved’ and never even used! Nicely situated on the beach, beach is public so sunbeds are very over priced and the beach itself was filthy. To say playa de muro is sold because of its spectacular beach - it needs some attention and care. Plastic, rubbish and cigarette butts everywhere. Location is very remote, nearest town is a good 15 mins and €15 each way. Small supermarket near by. Ting a ling road train outside. Our 2 negatives- It's super noisy. At all times. Thin walls and gaps in doors, so you hear people coming home late and children crying. We had a toddler and when she cried I was anxious others would hear. The Spanish restaurant had live music most nights and we were placed in the room directly above. So that was awful with trying to get a 2 year old to sleep as it went on last 9.30! You could also hear the music from the main stage which went on till 10.30. The other negative was the complete lack of things to do for anyone aged under 4. They can’t partake in kids club, there’s no play areas other than a small hidden park and a slide in reception. A slide surrounded by concrete flooring and not monitored. Other guests allowing their bigger children to bomb about throwing themselves and large items down the slide, regardless of anyone else trying to use it. The kids disco was at 5.15 - so peak getting ready for dinner time. That ended at 6 and then there was nothing until 8. The 8pm entertainment was usually a quiz - no interest for small children and then the main event didn’t start until 9pm.

We stayed here for an unexpected vacation in October 2025. Due to various specifics, we needed to have somewhere that was entirely all inclusive. Our journey from the airport to the hotel used a shuttle company the Hotel works with, the process was quite straightforward, booking online and paying part in card and part in cash. In hindsight, it probably would’ve been just as cheap to take a taxi, but the minibus was perfectly good and the drivers were friendly and helpful both on the outbound and inbound. The hotel itself is one of two Iberostar properties that share some facilities and access to the beach. Allegedly this was the quieter of the two, with a less family oriented vibe, but to be frank in this kind of place, and this kind of location you are going to be surrounded by families and small children. I say this as someone who is in a couple with no children. Our room was very pleasant, with an excellent bed, and a good balcony where we could see the sea. In fact the room was of very good standard. Obviously in this kind of hotel the food can make or break it. We were absolutely Delighted with the quality of the food and the variety of the food here. With significant dietary requirements, given the variety there was never ever a problem. Staff were extremely helpful, and what could’ve been a challenge was in fact one of the highlights of a holiday. So on food alone, this Hotel scores very very highly. The access to the beach was fantastic, it takes about two minutes to go from the main complex to the Sandy Beach; the beach is flat for about 800 m so you can be walking out into the sea and never be out of your depth; we really enjoyed being able to swim in clear water, and even managed to snorkel a little bit and see some fish including a beautiful ray. The swimming pools were extremely clean, very well managed - as was everything ; in fact I would say that we were very very happily surprised with the entire week we spent there. Great staff and great hotel. Perhaps the only thing that I could comment on is the fact that the indoor pool has very limited hours, and has no hours where it is adults only. That would really have been appreciated at the end of the day, after 6 pm for example when the indoor pool closed, to be able to have some quiet time. But I do realise that I’m not necessarily the target market for this hotel.
