Iberostar Selection Albufera Playa

Staff are very welcoming and kind. Xi Min was very helpful. Room is lovely however some stains lurking about. Wouldn’t recommend pool view as it’s normally where the families with little children book and it’s very noisy. Walls were very thin and I could hear full conversations even if they weren’t loud. Draft in the room. Wasn’t pleasant in the evening as quite cold. Balcony door wouldn’t fully shut. Air con wasn’t very good and you couldn’t feel any cold air if not for the draft. Gave us Razor and Toothbrush free of charge as we forgot. Drainage system in the shower was very bad, water would overflow if you took a shower longer than 3 minutes. Water all over the floor. Wouldn’t recommend hairdryer they provide for people with hair longer than a bob. It took 30 minutes to dry my hair. Bring your own hairdryer. Bed was solid and hurt my back, however it’s due to preferences of me preferring soft mattresses. In my opinion, there weren’t enough plug sockets. 1 in bathroom, 2 in main room. And they didn’t provide enough energy to charge our devices fast enough. Food is repetitive if you stay longer than a week. It’s on a weekly schedule and most of the time wasn’t very nice so I opted for the same options. Sometimes the meat was raw or slightly undercooked or completely overcooked and dry. I loved the Chocolate fountain though. Entertainment really made our holiday. It was brilliant. Shout out to Adrian as without him, it would be extremely boring. Wouldn’t recommend going in low season if you want a pool. Indoor heated pool sucks and wasn’t hot at all, I think they never turned it on everytime we went. The hot tub was disgusting. Wasn’t cleaned at all. Sand at the bottom. We went as soon as it opens and was still sand there. Obviously outdoor pool was frostbite worthy. The public toilets around the hotel were clean. Beach was average. On the warm days, they gave ice cream out by poolside that wasn’t served at the ice cream bar next door. The cups were dirty. They weren’t cleaned and were probably swilled to discard of the previous liquid. Utterly disgusting. If you have young children I would recommend the sister hotel next door as there are more things to do there e.g Splashpark, Park with zip line and trampoline, ice cream bar and a slide. Hotel was beautiful and staff were very friendly and we built good relationships with them all! Area wasn’t the best and we had to take the bus as nothing was really walking friendly. However bus are on time and short to nearby towns.

I have just got back from a 3 night stay at Albufera Playa with my mum and 4 year old. I booked the short break last minute, through Jet2, for an absolute bargain. The hotel is beautiful, stylish and so chic. Everything is spotless and the decor is stunning. The staff were exceptional and nothing was too much for them. They couldn't do enough for you. They were all so polite and friendly. We had an issue with our aircon and after speaking with staff and the manager, Carlos, the issue was resolved. As we were only there for a 3 night break, there wasn't any restaurant availability on the app but after speaking with Carlos, he arranged two reservations for us. Although to be honest, we actually preferred the buffet restaurant. I don't normally enjoy a buffet but the food was exceptional and there was so much to choose from. The pool and beach facilities were beautiful and so clean. The garden areas were stunning too and everything was cleaned and maintained to such a high standard. We spent most mornings at the beach, which you can walk to within minutes. You have to pay for the sunbeds. Two sunbeds and 1 umbrella were 21 euros. The man collecting the payment only accepts cash but there is a cash machine in the hotel. He came round everyday around 12pm so you can always go and use them and leave/arrive after that time! You can get pool towels and exchange for fresh ones whenever you like. We had transfer included in our Jet2 booking. Even though the hotel is only round 50 minutes away from the hotel, the transfer took over 2hrs. We got the transfer on the way to the hotel but on the way back we cancelled our transfer and opted to get a taxi. This was a much better option and I would 100% recommend getting a private transfer. I think Jet2 offer private transfer when booking but it was around £360 which seemed excessive. The hotel kindly booked our return trip to the airport, using Mallorcab (Uber equivalent) and the taxi was only 84 euros. It was worth every penny and I will 100% use Mallorcab again when I return to Mallorca in a few weeks. You can download the app and book instant taxis or book in advance. The rooms were beautiful and clean and we didn't get disturbed by any noice from the entertainment. The hotel shares all the facilities with the next door hotel, Iberostar Albufera Park. When I was booking, I wasn't sure which hotel to book but as Playa was cheaper, I opted for that. I am so glad too. Although both hotels are beautiful, I much preferred the atmosphere and calmness to Playa. Park is fantastic for kids and you can go there as and when you please but for me personally, I preferred the much more chilled atmosphere at Playa. Overall, id 100% recommend the hotel. It has everything you need and more. Its stylish and beautiful and the staff are all exceptional. The only thing I would do differently is book a private transfer so you dont waste so much time on a coach.

Absolutley stunning hotel with wonderful staff. Alba makes the best cocktails in star prestige, she is very attentive and makes guests feel extra special. Totally recommended for your next luxury mini break!

Last minute booking, really good service. Star Prestige terrace is well looked after by Alba and nice and peaceful. Rooms all clean and modern. Such friendly staff everywhere.

We are having a great time!! Staff are so lovely, Sergio, Loly, Raphael Tolo Tom they really goes an extra mille to make sure guests are having a nice time! The girl at the ski rooftop very kind to us too, checking on us if we need anything etc Loly are so thoughtful, my daughter was not well and she keep asking me how she is everyday she really cares we remember her and her brother Sergio from previous visits i wish i remember everyone's name it does makes such a diference when staff works with a smile in their face This is our 4th time here and deffo coming back!! The-only down thing is outdoor pools are not heated, at least one would be nice as we always coming on April Easter hol and it is a it chilli and would prefer to be outdoors harder than at the indoor pool! Xx
