Iberostar Selection Jardin del Sol Suites

We have visited many times in the last 3 years on an all inclusive basis. We have returned a number of times as we loved this hotel and staff. It always felt like we were returning home and we always had the most fabulous time, staff remembering us, nothing is too much for them. HOWEVER this year we experienced a really terrible upsetting experience with the sunbeds. We saw a number of people have their personal belongings taken when they went lunch. They had been on their bed all morning, went for lunch and when they returned their beds were given to someone else. We were due to go for lunch ourselves and we asked the life guard if we were ok to go for lunch as we were AI and wouldnt be long. He replied I speak no English. I asked if a member of the mgt team was available and he pointed out the assistant mgr. She was nearby trying to sort a dispute over a parasol, with an irrate father of 2 daughter, the life guards had taken his daughters parasol after they had been swimming in the pool for 20 mins. We spoke with the mgr and said we were going for lunch and would our belongings be ok for 45 mins max. She said NO they wouldnt be ok. We had to vacate the beds, take all our belongings back to our room. Have lunch and return after abd they would find us a new bed. We asked why, she said there isn't enough beds fir guest and they have to find someone a bed that comes to the pool at say 2pm. I pointed out we had been surrounded by beds that were unoccupied most of the morning, but the hotel was choosing to police the guests thst had been using them all day but wanted to go for the lunch they had paid for. I completely support a fair system on sunbed usage and do not condone putting a towel out at 7 or 8am for it not to be used until 11 or 12 noon. But we and many other guests weren't doing this, we come on holiday for relaxation. We do not expect to vacate the beds if going for lunch, or using the paddling boards for an hour, or cooling off in the pool for half an hour. This just doesn't seem fair when there was towels on beds for 3 or 4hrs with no consequences. Everything else about this hotel is wonderful but no sure we would return now because of this new rule. This experience was really disappointing and felt very unsupported by the mgt, the new sunbed system doesn't apprear to be fair when it's not consistently applied to all guests. Its really not the guests fault if they no longer have enough sunbeds.

Just had another lovely stay with my daughter. All staff are outstanding, so friendly. Room spotless, amazing views. The only negative this year is the sun bed hoggers. Most beds gone by 8 am. They are reserved and then they disappear for breakfast. It seems a given that some people want the same bed in the same spot every single day, quite sad really. We were up early on our last day, and when I looked out at 6.30am, the majority had towels on. This really does need addressing, as it just isn’t fair.

Enjoyed another long stay at our favourite holiday hotel. Fantastic views, extremely friendly staff, great facilities, and good food. We will definitely return to our 'happy place' - special thanks to Isabel for looking after us so well.

This year was our 5th stay Iberostar Jardin. We've returned each year because we know what we will get - which is great service from friendly staff, consistent and warm weather, generally quiet (due to the absence of children!) and meeting others whilst having a dip in the pool or some drinks. There are many positives I could talk about however there are some things that have changed over the years. The standard of food in the main restaurant is reasonable however the variety and quality has slipped considerably in recent times. There are far too many fish dishes and a poor selection of meat based dishes, meat cuts for grilling are cheap and tough as leather, meat in stews was full of gristle and pretty much inedible. There are some dishes that nobody ever eats, day in day out! The 'theme' nights have been dumbed down lately - previously there was a notice at the front desk with the night's theme but now there is nothing and even the staff don't know what the nightly theme is. The sunbeds in the swim up suites are dreadful and so uncomfortable. They require extra slats underneath - other guests have complained about this but nothing has changed! The hotel itself is looking very tired and is in need of a spruce up. Prices have risen 45% since our first stay in 2021. Regrettably we have decided this will be our last holiday at the resort however overall we have always had an enjoyable and relaxing time.

First time to this hotel, we went all incl Star Prestige Plus, but the other part of the hotel was lesser albeit all the amenities were in that part. Loved all that this brought but the sun terrace was awful, being on a slope - felt like you were going to slide down it. Fabulous views over the bay. Restaurant was excellent as was the food. However all incl isn’t strictly correct. You had to pay to eat in the bar areas (apart from snacks) and the Japanese restaurant. Staff were excellent apart from a female lifeguard who was very aggressive (more on that in a minute). There were lots of activities if you wished to join in, both in the sea, in the pool and in the animation area. The main Sun terrace by the pool - not all sunbeds were out. Iberostar brand has a policy of removing towels after 45 minutes if not used - this is advertised on some parasols. I get this if people are just putting towels out for when they return from shopping or a trip BUT if, as we and lots of others did, all your beach stuff is on or near your sunbed, then it is obvious that you are on site in the hotel. Dud this stop towels and personal belongings being removed? No! Lifeguard (mentioned earlier) was aggressively policing this - there were lots of unhappy people. I asked if this 45 mins was applied to the mealtime periods and was told it was! I was also told that I would have to find another sunbed and all PERSONAL belongings would be removed. No one should be touching other people’s stuff. Consequently, my husband and I had our meals separately so that we weren’t kicked off our sunbeds - which we only left to eat or swim! Hence my 3 star rating due to the above. This spoilt our holiday which is a shame as a really great location with good staff and good food.
