Iberostar Selection Jardin del Sol Suites

This was our 3rd visit to the hotel and as always the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the food was as excellent as we remembered. The room was spacious and very clean and the views are spectacular. We had hesitated about returning to the hotel due to the Sunbed reserving issue we encountered on previous visits as neither of us wanted to get up 8am to put towels out to reserve Sunbeds. Unfortunately we found this to still be an issue so we were glad we booked a room with the Balinese bed, Hot Tub and a double Sunbed in the “Non Prestige” part of the hotel. The only disappointment we had is we decided to upgrade if possible on arrival and the person who booked us in was not really that interested in sorting it Apparently the hotel was full and we would have to wait a day. Nobody contacted us on our second day but to be honest at this point we had unpacked and were happy with the room we had been allocated and when we return we would probably choose the same type of room again but with the larger balcony which a few of the rooms have which was the upgrade we were hoping to sort on arrival

This was our second stay at the Iberostar Selection Jardin del Sol. The view of Santa Ponsa Bay and the boats at anchor is still as beautiful. We saw some exceptional boats moored there. We had chosen a Junior Star Prestige Suite with half-board for 10 nights. The suite on the 6th floor was well-located and clean. We slept well under the ceiling fan, with or without air conditioning. The staff were very polite and friendly throughout the hotel. Very few employees speak French, but we always managed to communicate in English or German, which are the most commonly spoken languages in this beautiful hotel. The only technical problem we encountered was two days after our arrival, when our air conditioner was working but leaking in two different places. After a second reminder, the repair was carried out during our dinner, and then we had to wait for the floor to be cleaned. There were no further problems after that. We found the meals to be sufficiently varied to suit our tastes, whether it was breakfast or dinner, with the option of eating indoors or outdoors. The dress code for dinner, which was clearly displayed, was generally respected by everyone except for a few men. The hotel is not responsible for the lack of manners of some guests, whether at the restaurant or by the pool... You don’t go to this hotel for the evening entertainment, which is very light and only appeals to a few people. Thank you for your welcome and kindness.

This was our 4th visit to this hotel so we know what to expect. Check in was quick & efficient arrived at midday and our room wasn’t ready until 15:00. No problem we were provided with towels to use at the swimming pool and secure room to store cases. Now the room on 6th floor unfortunately wasn’t up to the usual high standards. Shower head was loose from the wall, water temperature intermittent, aircon in bedroom very noisy, ants all over the sink area, and a wooden board was at the front door covering a repair to floor. We contacted reception at 9am in the morning and the receptionist came down to the room to see everything. She immediately got maintenance to sort shower & aircon. Then Oscar came and I showed him shower was still loose and temperature intermittent. He seen we weren’t happy with our room and moved us up to 8th floor. This room was what we expected from this hotel spotless & everything perfect. We also received a spa voucher, bottle of bubbly, chocolates & strawberries as well as a shawl and toilet bag from the maids due to the issues we had. Once we moved rooms everything was perfect, the view, the pool is so peaceful and the friendly staff. We will return again next year.

We stayed at the Iberostar Selection Jardín del Sol Suites from 22nd to 27th July to celebrate my son's 30th birthday. This wasn't our first visit – we've stayed here many times over the years because we absolutely love this hotel, and once again it exceeded all of our expectations. We always upgrade to Star Prestige, and for us it is worth every penny. The exclusive infinity pool area alone makes the upgrade worthwhile. A very special thank you to Denis and Dani at the Star Prestige top pool bar. They were both incredibly efficient, friendly and genuinely kind. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they went above and beyond to provide exceptional service throughout our stay. They really are a credit to the hotel. Our check-in was handled by Valentine, who is currently a trainee. Honestly, it's hard to believe she is still training. She was professional, confident, welcoming and incredibly helpful. She made us feel valued from the moment we arrived. We also want to thank Adama and Charlotte on Reception, who were equally friendly, approachable and always happy to help with anything we needed. The hotel's location is perfect. It's only around a five-minute walk to the shops, bars and restaurants, and we love the beautiful coastal walk into the beach and centre of Santa Ponsa. The hotel itself is absolutely spotless. A huge thank you to the entire Housekeeping Team. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to get anyone's name, but they all deserve recognition. Our suite was cleaned beautifully every day with fresh towels, and each evening they even returned to ask if we needed any additional towels. Their attention to detail and hard work really do make a difference, and the whole hotel is immaculately maintained. As it was my son's 30th birthday, we brought some decorations with us. Tania in the restaurant went above and beyond by decorating our breakfast table beautifully for the morning of his birthday. It looked absolutely wonderful and made the occasion feel even more special. No request was ever too much trouble, so thank you so much, Tania. We also received another lovely welcome from Katrina and Fernando in the restaurant. As returning guests, it's always so nice to see familiar faces who remember you and consistently provide such warm, friendly service. On the evening of my son's birthday, we dined in the Teppanyaki Restaurant, and Dima made the whole evening unforgettable. She decorated the area beautifully, ensured our drinks were always topped up, cleared plates promptly and looked after us so well throughout the evening. Her attention to detail and genuine enthusiasm helped make such an important celebration incredibly special. This hotel consistently delivers exceptional service, and it's the staff who make it truly outstanding. Every member of the team works incredibly hard, and it shows. Thank you to everyone for helping us celebrate such a special milestone. We already can't wait to return.

I’ll start with the positives so I don’t come off as a Karen. Mallorca is beautiful. The view from all parts of the property was immaculate. The town that the hotel is in a vibrant and exciting, and there are even more fun cities 20-30 minutes away. This resort is not in the middle of nowhere like a lot of island resorts. The servers and bartenders are exceedingly friendly. The common areas are visually appealing. The pools are very nice. The snorkeling/cliff jumping excursion was excellent, although it was through a 3rd party so I can’t really give Iberostar credit for that. Now for the cons. As my title shows, there are A LOT of additional fees here which I think are unnecessary. The bars have a handful of cocktails they will make for free. Everything else is an additional cost. There is 1 restaurant in the entire resort and it costs extra. Every other meal is a buffet, albeit an upscale one. Want snorkeling gear? 30 euros. This place is way too expensive to be nickeling and diming their guests like this. Their receptionists are not effective. Our dinner reservations got cancelled and we had to reschedule them. Our spa treatments got cancelled and they wouldn’t call down for us so we had to go down there ourselves. Our espresso machine was broken and they took days to replace it. We got the penthouse with a roof deck and the room setup is weird with the shower in the middle of the room right by the front door. Zero privacy. The room was smaller than expected. One of the rooms we booked for some other people in our party was infested with ants. We took these concerns to a manager and he could not have been less helpful. He offered us nothing. There is nothing to do at the resort so we wound up going out virtually every night; an unexpected expense. My idea of a good resort is one where you never leave during the whole vacation. There is only good AC in the room, everywhere else on the property it is nonexistent or sporadic. Overall I would not stay in an Iberostar resort again based on this experience.
