Iberostar Waves Bahia de Palma

We stayed here for 8 days in August, half board. This hotel was a mixed bag, so I'll lay out the main pros / cons as we saw them: Pros: - Food was excellent for both breakfast and dinner, lots of variety on every night we ate there - Staff were attentive, courteous and friendly - Nightly entertainment was frequent and reasonably varied - Sky bar was a nice touch, great place to watch the sunset Cons: - Room was one of the smallest we've stayed in, and awkwardly shaped - difficult to fit a week's worth of belongings/clothing in. Air con was also practically non-existent beyond around 11pm, inevitably resulting in poor sleep throughout the week - Low number of sun loungers around the pool given the capacity of the hotel. Unless you're up at the crack of dawn battling Germans, no sun lounger for you! - Bar drinks were *particularly* expensive, the tab we racked up here was almost 2x our typical tab - having consumed less than we usually do! - Outdoor pool was fairly small and very shallow - odd choice for an adults only hotel To summarise, we were a little disappointed with the hotel overall, given the glowing reviews it seems to get; it is no exaggeration to say that the excellent food carried the hotel on its back - lots of improvement could be made in other areas.

Stayed for four night in July in a side sea view double. Excellent location from the airport we got a bus to the hotel. Check in was smooth, welcome drink and cool cloth and we waited in lounge area for room to be ready. Stayed on a HB basis and breakfast and evening meals were great lots of choice. Shout out to Assu in the restaurant made a great omelette at breakfast and was on the grill station in the evening. They had theme food nights with welcome drinks. Cocktails were nice especially the Pina Colada. I have knocked one star off for the pool area policy. We were sunbathing by the lifeguard/towel station and informed the young man out of courtesy that me and my daughter were going for lunch to which he pointed at his watch and said if you are not back in 45 minutes your towels will be removed. The hotel restaurant t is not open for lunch and no food is available to order so you have to eat at the adjoining seafront bar or walk out to the other seafront restaurants. This made us feel like we had to rush our lunch. When we returned I noticed a couple on the opposite side of the pool had been gone for sometime (an hour) so I said the the pool attendant why haven’t you removed their things and he said “well I can’t see everyone”. The pool was a great temperature and the roof top pool was nice but too warm and always busy as not very big. Would have liked a quiz or bingo as a daytime activity. The female singer in the evening was very good. Housekeeping also did a good job. Can recommend Palma cathedral and a trip to Sóller on the old fashioned wooden train from Palma.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Chrysoula and all the wonderful staff at the Iberostar Bahia de Palma for making my recent (second) stay with my partner so enjoyable. The hotel is in a fantastic location and is spotlessly clean with many amenities close by. I would especially like to mention Gagan and Mercedes, who every time they saw me spoke to me by my first name which I feel added a nice personal touch. I am sure we will back again next year.

We visited as a couple for a short getaway and the hotel were beyond generous with us! The hotel offered great value for money considering the last-minute nature of our trip. There were complimentary drinks and treats around the pool, over lunchtime, before tea, and the staff always greeted us with a smile! The hotel is located on a strip of beach, with some restaurants and shops nearby, but if you want a busier time, the bus to Palma takes only 20 minutes. The rooms were clean, with heartwarming messages from the cleaning staff after each of their visits, and our balcony had a lovely sea view. The pool area was small and quiet, with a very cool rooftop infinity pool, but this was exactly what we needed. Similarly, the night time entertainment was much more of a chilled vibe than other hotels, but it was great being able to listen to some music over drinks or just on our balcony. At night, there were many high quality options for food, even though we're vegetarian. Special mention to Fabrizio, who was extremely warm and generous and helped us arrange an extra evening of food due to our late pickup. The spa area was available to us all day so we didn't have to head to the airport with sandy feet!
