Iberostar Waves Cala Millor

Located not far from the beach, especially if you take the path at the back of hotel. Wellness room:- nice as straight out onto lawn and beach path, steps up to outdoor pool (closed). My only gripe is no coat hooks or bedside drawers just a small table which isn’t big enough for a drink, medication for through the night. Bathroom hooks are no where near shower so towels had to be placed on floor or soaked the floor. There is a kettle, we took ours as previous reviews said there isn’t one. A few flavoured t-bags , some sugar lumps but never replenished so take some, shop is quite a walk at this time of year for milk, plenty shops nearby opening in April. Beds and TWO are comfy. We had to sleep with patio doors open (not safe I know) as room was so warm and air conditioning isn’t running. Indoor Pool is a lovely temperature but there are very few seats, no changing area so no good for people with mobility issues. Food:- very good but would be good if you could see the menu prior to deciding whether to eat in or out. Water at the table is charged to your room bill, which doesn’t make sense when it’s free all round the hotel. A carafe and glasses are provided in your room. We didn’t attend at breakfast so unable to review it. Staff:- so very very nice, especially Adrian in the restaurant Lou and Jose on reception. Entertainment:- had better. If I return to Cala Millor I will definitely look at returning to this hotel but maybe later on in the year (June).

We spent a day there to relax and unwind, and the hotel was just what we were looking for!!!!

We booked (married couple in ‘70s) for a week over Christmas, just to get away. We didn’t know what to expect or how it would work for us, but we needed relaxation. The hotel met all our expectations – clean, modern, fabulous room views (room 901), quiet and comfy bed. Our hotel stay was wonderful, especially as we discovered I had booked the buffet dinner as well as breakfast. The range of food (buffet-style) was unbelievable and provided for every imaginable taste – top quality everything from meats, sides to desserts, set out round the huge buffet area to select what you want. The waiting staff are so happy, attentive and helpful, and totally made our trip worthwhile. Christmas Eve evening was the “main event” and all the staff went out of their way to provide such fun before and after our main meal – aperitifs in the bar (amazing choice), fabulous Eve meal (even lobster and huge prawns) and finally entertainment in the pool bar with a brilliant duo who managed to get us all up dancing. We had no issues whatsoever, value for money was astounding and we would totally recommend this hotel. Out of season tip: hire a car and drive round the whole island. Parking is along the road (which I imagine would be full during summer season) and there is a huge free car park about 300m away at the bottom of the (not too steep) hill. Last tip for those who expect it routinely: no coffee/tea making facilities in rooms (except the suite). When we queried this, the reception staff offered a coffee maker (for a daily charge) or we could use a kettle for free.

Myself and my Mam came to the hotel for her 70th birthday. The hotel staff were absolutely brilliant and went above and beyond to make my mother's birthday special. The hotel is beautiful, clean and well presented. Our room was lovely , ground floor and easy access to the pool and outside area. The food was excellent, with lots of choice every day, and friendly attentive waiting staff and managers. The location of the hotel was perfect for us, right on the seafront and adjacent to the nature reserve. The only negative was the lack of hotel parking spaces, but we did find parking close by. I want to give a special shout-out to Romina who looked after our room. She was absolutely brilliant, she was super friendly and kind, and made sure everything in our room was perfect.

Our second visit and just a excellent as the first. We arrived to a fabulous welcome with glasses of fizz and chocolate truffles! A great start..we booked a sea view room and the reception manager, who offers super friendly service all the time, allocated us a sea view room with a stunning view . It really was beautiful. The room is very spacious with 2 large beds pushed together. The shower even had a sea view! We opted for the "green" free mini bar by dropping 50% of our maid service. Possibly not something we will do again due to lots of full sugar soft drinks and no option to chose but an option if you wish to. The restaurant was one of the main reasons we wanted to return and it didn't disappoint. We enjoyed every meal time and the choices plus quality were just delicious. Yes, as ever for buffet restaurants, not always served hot but they do offer a microwave and 30 seconds later, piping hot. The towels require a €20 deposit each. Maybe take cash because our card refund took a couple of days. Pool area does have a lot of shade but in the summer that would be helpful! Bar prices okay, glass of house wine €4.50,pint of lager the same. We will most definitely return..apart from 1 bad experience with a receptionist, all the team offered outstanding service.
