Iberostar Waves Cala Millor

My mum and I stayed at Iberostar Waves Cala Millor for 4 nights. We’re in our 30s and 50s, and overall we had a pleasant stay, but it’s not somewhere we would return. The location is excellent, with plenty of shops, restaurants, and the beach nearby. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, which made a big difference and was one of the highlights of our stay. The food was good, with a focus on quality over quantity. We always found enjoyable options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The drinks were decent too. Unfortunately, the entertainment was quite limited. During our stay there were only a few activities, and they seemed to cater more to a small group of guests rather than encouraging wider participation. There was also no music around the pool area, which made the atmosphere feel very quiet—you could hear every conversation around you. Another downside was that parts of the pool area lost the sun as nearby buildings cast shadows, meaning you often had to move your sunbed to stay in the sunshine. As there were only two of us, this wasn’t a major issue. While we appreciated the great location, friendly staff, and good food, we felt the hotel is more suited to older guests and those looking for a very quiet, relaxed holiday. For that reason, although we enjoyed some aspects of our stay, we wouldn’t choose to return.

Wow. The room was a suite that is only available via the hotel, amazing with 2 balconies and a view that took your breath away each morning. Food is amazing and everything freshly cooked. All of the staff are so happy and friendly it’s a joy to see. Restaurant staff remembers your room number and welcomes you with a smile every morning. We had and amazing relaxing break for our 25th wedding anniversary Thank You so much

My husband and I enjoyed a 4 day mini break in October. The hotel is more or less the first hotel at the start of cala millor and it was picked because of its reviews and the way it looked. We worked out to walk the full length of the resort is approx 40-45 from our hotel to start of Cala bona. The walk is flat and the beach road is wide and very has the lovely Ame gastropub to wet our whistle halfway. The resort is very family friendly with single bikes up to 6 seater for hire, plenty of room for them too . A lovely clean resort with great shops, restaurants, play areas etc. back to the hotel, our room was lovely, very modern, we had a corner room with full glass on side and front, we could see the whole of the resort to our left and the sea, beach and rocks in front. Bathroom was great, lovely hot showers, plenty of room for toiletries. Wardrobe space was ample, bed was very comfortable with no noise at night and blackout full length curtains. We were all inclusive, which was a change for us but it was perfect, the weather was a bit dodgy so we didn’t feel in the mood to traipse out looking for a restaurant, we did go out after dinner to a couple of bars, prices, service etc was great. I would surmise that the resort would get livelier in summer months but still was quite busy, the pool was freezing partly because it was October and also because hotel has a tall block of apartments next to it which blocked sun at certain times, didn’t bother us as we just changed angle of bed. We tried the spa pool and sauna on a wet day, very nice. The food was great, huge choice for each meal, on tap beer and wine, I think I was told that only the champagne was charged, I like gin and Tia Maria and it was free. We stayed in one night for the Spanish dancers, one guy, 2 girls, they were gun but very professional, I couldn’t count how many costume changes there were !, when we return, I would definitely come in height of summer as I’m sure entertainment or music nights would be great. Staff were wonderful, receptionists were helpful and friendly. Next time we are back in Cala millor we are bringing my son and his girlfriend and will probably stay in a hotel halfway along the resort, only because they hate walking but also because all the hotels look superb, I think we’ll keep Iberostar waves just for us 🍾

Location is a short walk to the beach less than 5mins. Hotel is very clean and tidy, staff are friendly and polite. The outdoor pool is cold but refreshing, the indoor spa pool is a touch warmer and very relaxing. We visited for a girls trip & birthday. However, a member of our party became unwell for 24hrs and unable to leave the hotel room. Unsure of cause but can only assume it was from the food she ate that evening from the Buffett as she ate differently to the rest of the party. The maids/cleaning staff were fantastic and deep cleaned the room after this event of her being so poorly. Cannot fault the service for this. Few others (not in our party) have been unwell at the hotel too which is unfortunate and hopefully will be investigated.

Two days into the hotel and my husband was ill, and by day 3 there were many more being ill, same symptoms, the food isn't of great quality and it cold, you have to pay for water in the restaurant, the rooms are fine but no tea or coffee in the rooms, I would say 3* not 4*plus, I wouldn't recommend this hotel, not worth the money we paid for staying 10 days.
