    We stayed here for 5 nights last week whilst on holiday in Cala Millor, we chose the hotel as had a good TripAdvisor rating, and had stayed at an Iberostar in Santa Ponca last year which was very good. We arrived at around 12pm and rooms were not ready, no issues we changed and went for a walk. Checked in a around 3pm and was given rooms 422 and 423, we wanted rooms next to each other or near as our son was with us. The rooms were accessible rooms so large spaces around the bed and in the bathroom. First issue was the rooms, especially the one were battered, marks all over the floor, skirting boards and walls, so not a great start. Also the skirting boards were pretty dirty with dust all across them. Secondly the rooms were extremely hot and the air conditioning was not working, we opened the patio doors but as the sun was that side of the hotel it just made things worse. We unpacked and had a shower, when my wife showered she noticed there was a large hole in the towel, not what you would expect from a 4.5 star hotel. We went out for dinner and then went back to the rooms for the night and to sleep. When we got up in the morning we went and complained to reception, we was told that the air conditioning was in between heating and cooling and was not actually on in the hotel as yet. We mentioned the marks and scuffs in the room and they said this was a low category room, however not sure what that had to do with things as still a 4.5 star hotel apparently. Lastly we mentioned the hole in the towel, again we were told this was a low category room, we argued the fact that just because a standard room it still should be 4.5 star, we just got a blank look. The hotel did offer us an upgrade for €30 per night per room so would have been an extra €240, we declined this. A younger reception guy, Jorge then look ed and said we could move the following day to ground floor rooms free of charge, we accepted this after he took us to view one of the rooms. We were moved to rooms 13 and 14 the following morning, these rooms were smaller but much nicer. The rooms were a higher category and funnily enough the air conditioning actually worked in the rooms as assume the air con was just not on in the standard rooms on the high floor. The staff seem to all be very friendly and work very hard, but there are still major issues at the hotel, and it is not a 4.5 start hotel, more a 3.5 star hotel. Breakfast was good, although always busy. The entertainment at night was hit and miss, and the pool bar it was in was pretty small. There was also no where to get any snacks or lunch, just the buffet restaurant. There were lots of very nice, new looking Hipotel Hotels in the area and these looked nicer than this hotel. We would nit return to the hotel if we went back to the area as just too many issues

    The hotel and staff overall are very good however the room we were first offered was in the worst position possible and I’m sure the receptionist that checked us in knew this as she also offered us an upgrade at the same time saying we could view both rooms, the upgraded room which we took cost us another €200 for our stay. On our first evening we had dinner in the open Terrace restaurant which was very nice, but the next day this restaurant area was closed due to maintenance work replacing windows which as you can imagine came with lots of noise drilling banging and disruption to the peaceful atmosphere of being by the pool,this disrupted our holiday for the next three days and obviously this restaurant area was out of use which was very disappointing. The work being carried out also disrupted the peace and quiet of being able to sit on our balcony in the room. We had Been charged the extra €200 for as it was above where the work was being carried out. No one at the hotel at any point advised this work would be carried out during our stay. As an IHG member, I asked if reward points would be added to my account I was advised no & and Not even for the upgrade which was paid in resort at the hotel very disappointing. would be adde

    My husband and I have just returned from Iberostar Waves, Calla Millor after a 16day stay. The Management and staff are wonderful and a real credit to the hotel and nothing is true much trouble. They are dedicated, hard working and really look after their guests. The hotel is spotless. Our room was very comfortable, sparkling and great views. The Restaurant staff are great and the catering staff can't do enough. The food is of a very high quality, so varied and absolutely delicious. In the bar, the staff really enter into everything each evening and are just fantastic. Special thanks to Isaac, Antonio , Nicole and Erim.
