Iberostar Waves Cala Millor

We stayed at this hotel at the end of may 2026. We had booked a garden view room as the photos attached showed a balcony but just a view of trees which was fine with us as we just wanted a balcony with some privacy. A few days before we went we saw a review from a couple who had also booked a garden view but they had a terrace and it was right next to the pool meaning they had no privacy. Going back to check on the booking it does say ‘terrace or balcony’ but going off the pictures it doesn’t show you any terrace pictures at all so that is my bad for not probably looking but at reception they said it was just terraces for garden view rooms. Luckily when we arrived the staff were so lovely and let us check out our ‘garden view room’ which was right near the pool and they also let us check out a room on floor 3 with a ‘side sea view’ we paid a small fee every day to upgrade and it was definitely worth it! We had a much better view and some privacy on our balcony that we were after! Again I completely understand this was my fault for just going off the pictures but this is to make other people aware if they are looking to book a garden room view. The hotel in itself was so lovely, the food was amazing, staff were so friendly, rooms were cleaned every day, the pool was quiet. A big shoutout to Louis as he really looked after us while we were there, he helped us as I have a food allergy to communicate this to other staff and was just a friendly face to see every morning! There wasn’t a lot to do around the hotel, there was a lovely beach but then only a handful of restaurants. It’s a perfect hotel if you want to just relax by the pool and go on walks. We did get a local bus to palma which took around 2 hours to get there as taxis were so expensive! They do have a no reserving sunbeds rule but people still reversed them and the staff did nothing about this which I thought was odd, but luckily there was enough sunbeds for everyone when we went. We did find ourselves having to swap sunbeds a few times as the sun would be blocked by the hotel. I would definitely go back to this hotel again if I wanted a proper relaxation holiday. Currently on holiday with my parents and my sister. The good: - The hotel is very clean, including the communal areas. - The bar, restaurant and entertainment staff are very helpful, funny and efficient. There is a good variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. You can enjoy a good normal or iced coffee (non-dairy milks available) near the pool which is a huge plus. - The food is fresh and there is a good balance between reoccurring favourites and variety of new things at every meal. - The beach is only a small walk away and you don’t need to cross the road (most other hotels nearby you have to) but be warned that the nicest part of the beach is a 5/10 min walk away. (The hotel beach path could do with a little clean-up and more sand). The not so good: - I requested a quiet room being a sensitive sleeper. Whilst the request was initially accommodated, the walls are very thin and a constantly coughing neighbour meant that neither my sister or I could sleep through the night despite ear plugs. The hotel wasn’t very flexible accommodating a move of the room so we are both spending the holiday very tired and may need to take up the issue with the neighbour directly. - If you are leaving late your braclets gets immediately cut-off. You get a voucher for lunch but no further access to the bar. The hotel seems very strict about these things which I’ve not experienced elsewhere. Overall, it’s an ok value for money. You seem to pay a little premium for the hotel in comparison to a couple others nearby but don’t necessarily have the little perks / premium experience. I enjoyed the holiday and would come back if there was an offer but I would not seek out the hotel.

Amazing break at this fabulous hotel. The facilities are great, and all the staff are lovely, they work so hard to make sure that you have a wonderful holiday. Fantastic location right on the beach at the top of the resort. All staff are great, please forgive me for not mentioning everyone by name, but a special shout out to Luis, Isaac, Victor, Ventura, and Stefano who made the most heavenly omelettes. Would 100% recommend - and fingers crossed, will be fortunate enough to come back!

Overall an enjoyable stay and escape to the sunshine - kind of… (more on that further in the review) but a few quirks that definitely don’t befit what is meant to be a 4 star hotel. Firstly, the good stuff. The view from our side “Standard Room, with Sea Side View and Balcony” was brilliant. Plenty of room for two friends, with absolutely fab views - one of the best side sea view I’ve stayed in. The bathroom situation in the room is a little odd, with the sink area being in the actual room and not with the shower or toilet - but apart from that, the room was good! Comfy bed, hairdryer, shampoo & conditioner, large fridge, safe etc. The hotel is environmentally friendly, so there are so single use plastics, but they have water dispensers plotted all over which are great! The location of the hotel was wonderful. It’s down the quieter end of Cala Millor, in a very picturesque location, but still easily accessible to walk down to the hustle and bustle of Cala Millor, which we did every night. The secluded beach and nature reserve on the doorstep of the hotel make it feel extra special. Now, for the odd / disappointing stuff … if you’re coming to the hotel to lounge all day in the sun with minimal effort - think again. The location of hotel means you’re having to dodge the shadow of the buildings all day. Not the end of the world, but something worth keeping in mind. Also note, there are a lot of sun lounger hoggers, putting towels down on chairs and then not returning for hours (& hours), this isn’t managed by the hotel. However, the chairs and umbrellas are well kept, and the pool is gorg if you can stand the cold temperatures! We only stayed B&B, breakfast was good, but there was no where to get any snacks! The pool bar didn’t offer any lunch (even to pay for) so unless you wanted to pay a lot for the buffet lunch you had to go offsite. The pool bar service was also hit a miss, and the soft drinks were generally flat - so we’re glad we’re didn’t do all inclusive! Regardless a really nice stay, with beautiful views over the secluded beach. There are some really great restaurants near by, we recommend Amê Gastrobeach Club, Calma Beach Club and MOMENTS Cafe.

Very disappointed with our stay here last week. We’d booked a ‘garden view’ room, only to find the view directly adjacent to the pool bar & wall. Not the ‘views of the pine forest’ as both theirs and jet2 state. The hotel stated there were no other rooms available- offered us an upgrade which we ended up paying 300 euros for the following morning as our original room was loud and awful, as 3 women arriving on our first night to groups of men practically outside our patio was not right. They told us no other rooms were available yet I then found another couple had been moved. So disappointing! The food was ok, as you’d expect for AI. Service was slow, staff were not the most friendly and for an adults only ‘wellness hotel’ it was pathetic. The spa pool was cold, the hotel outside pool baltic. You only get the sun in certain areas through the day due to the hotel and a high rise building next to it so you need to be moving around. The one good point was it was clean. More of a 3* than 4* hotel. Its on the very end of Cala Millor, a good 20 minute walk into the centre. Id never return and I really dont recommend it here either. Much better hotels around for the price.
