Marins Suites

This is the second time me and my wife have stayed here and its a great place to stay. On the Cala Bona side of the Calla Millor with lots of good bars in close vicinity. The Adults only hotel, has all the ammenties that you need and the newly upgraded suites are excellent, although a larger fridge would be a nice touch! The rooms are spacious and kept clean. The staff from the reception, to the bar & restaurant, chefs and the cleaning team are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble for them. Although the bar and restaurant staff are worth a special mention, from Breakfast, to cocktails and dinner they worked tirelessly and always with a smile! Plentiful breakfast with the German and Spanish chef always happy to make an omlette or eggs to your liking! Dinner was varied and the restaurant never too busy, so always managed to get a table. Two pools and plenty of Sun beds! So all in all a great stay and i am sure we will return within the next couple of years.

Beautiful hotel, stunning rooms over looking the sea, rooms very comfy, large and clean with everything you would need, apart from a kettle. Breakfast is in the hotel and evening meals across a very small road in the sister hotel, with a large good choice of food.

100% staying here again! We stayed here bed and breakfast, I am coeliac and type1 diabetic and ate fantastically at this hotel. When I arrived at breakfast the chef told me he would make me anything I want and even had sweet treats available for me, I was able to eat food I hadn’t ate years and was very impressed. Massive should out to the chef. The pool side is lovely and having the option to head over to the sister hotel to use the adults only rooftop and the classes like aqua fit was a bonus! The rooms are a bit small and don’t have loads of storage but the beds are super comfortable and the room is clean. The only issue I had was when using the plug sockets my adapter plug and charger/straightener plug would get extremely hot, I replaced my adapter on the first day of my holiday and this continued to happen. They did send an electrician out but I was told it was normal but still didn’t feel confident leaving it on over night to charge my phone due to the heat the plug got too. Also be careful of extra charges when checking out as they add tourist tax onto your bill, we only bought a handful of water bottles when around the pool and were charged €53 which was a shock as we were expecting a €25-€30 bill maximum. Apart from that I couldn’t fault this hotel and would highly recommend. The staff are very friendly and there are great restaurants only a few steps off the hotel!

The reception area is in Marins Playa over the road from the suites. Check in was very efficient and quick and we were told where the adult only restaurant was-for our half board stay. Nadia and Fran were super efficient and friendly and very approachable. We booked a double room in the suites. The view from the bedroom of the sea every day was beautiful. We would book a junior suite next time because there isn’t much storage in the doubles and though adequate, I always take too much stuff and needed a bit more space. Bedrooms were cleaned very well every day with clean glassware and crockery and the chambermaid always cleaned the bedrooms early which was a plus for us. I agree with comments made about the walls being thin but then it’s live and let live and some people are quiet and some people are ignorant and let the doors bang and are on the balcony at 5.30 in the morning talking loudly so there’s always the option of closing the balcony door and putting on the air conditioning to drown out any noise. Breakfast was a lovely experience with adequate choice and the staff(all are wonderful) can’t do enough to help you. It was a choice to eat out too which was wonderful. Fantastic service from Felix and Andreas who brought out our gluten free bread freshly baked every day. They were fabulous. The outside bar work very hard every day to ensure that drinks are delivered and always with a smile. A shout out to Desiree and Seirge who couldn’t be more helpful as were all of the staff. My husband and I are foodies and enjoy good quality food, we are gluten free and every night in the adult only restaurant the chefs came out to explain our options and put our minds at rest. We have been to 5 different hotels in Cala Bona where the eating experience has been like a feeding frenzy. At the Matins Suites it is quite the opposite and the quality of the food was excellent. Shout outs to Christina, Helena, Elena and another lovely waitress with long hair and glasses, apologies she was lovely I can’t remember her name. The chefs were fabulous always smiling and friendly. I struggle to fault this hotel other than one small niggle when a private party took over the breakfast area in the afternoon and the music pumping out for 3 hours around the pool spoiled the atmosphere for that afternoon. Note to management, if you let out an area for a private party…isolate the music to that area. I also mentioned that entertainment in the evening needs more scrutiny even though there is so much music in other areas it would be nice to stay and listen to quality music without having to go out. Overall this hotel looks great,nice pool area and superb views out to sea. Nice adults only restaurant which is in the Marins Playa opposite the suites.We stayed in the suites which have got to have the thinnest walls in any hotel we have ever stayed in you can actually here people’s normal conversations through them so not great at 2.00am you can even hear people’s yawning and snoring.The food choice is very limited and cooked by what seem to be trainee chefs one in particular could barely fry an egg.Salad bar worst ever.And if you fancy dessert make sure you get it before 9.00pm as strictly everything is cleared away.One guy was told off for trying to get ice cream 1 minute past 9.00.As for the evening entertainment it’s ok if you’re 5 years old or like bingo. Overall not the best experience and we wouldn’t go back.
