O7 Cala Ratjada (ex. Club Hotel Cala Ratjada)

If you are about to book this place- don’t. Came last year it was great- am here now and it is shocking. Our room had filthy mattresses with cigarette burns and the room stank of mould. It also overlooked the road. I am not - moaner you can look back at past reviews but this is truly the worst place I’ve ever stayed in. The Food is shocking it is cold. It’s tasteless and there is more food Food at a 4 -year-old’s birthday party.. It is totally geared for the German market. The drinks are cheap and nasty. The bar staff are miserable and rude. No kettle or fridge so no cold drinks when you wake up. If you have stayed at all inclusive before you will be horrified.

We recently stayed at this hotel and overall tried not to let the issues we experienced ruin our holiday. The main problem during our stay was the condition of the swimming pool on arrival. The pool was green, unclean, and not usable for the first 3–4 days of our holiday. It was eventually cleaned, however this was disappointing, especially as it was the start of the season and something like this should really have been sorted before guests arrived. After speaking with the sales manager, Jun, we understood that equipment had broken and appreciate that sometimes things do happen beyond people’s control. Jun was professional, approachable, and genuinely tried to put things right for us. He even introduced us to some local Mallorcan drinks which was a lovely touch, and we appreciated the effort he made. The lifeguards also deserve recognition for helping make our holiday enjoyable despite the poor weather and pool situation. They were friendly, attentive, and very customer-focused. In particular, Ronald was an absolute credit to the hotel and always made guests feel welcome. Most staff members were friendly and helpful, especially two of the younger reception staff, including one newer member of the team who was always smiling, approachable, and a pleasure to speak with. Unfortunately, our experience with the reception manager, who we believe was called Maria, was extremely disappointing. We found her attitude arrogant, rude, and unhelpful when dealing with guest concerns. In our opinion, customer service training would benefit her greatly, as front desk staff are often the face of the hotel experience. The food was okay for a 3-star hotel, with enough variety for most people to find something they liked. To be fair to the hotel, compensation was offered regarding the pool issue, which we appreciated. Overall, despite some significant negatives, there were also staff members who genuinely worked hard to improve the situation and made parts of our stay enjoyable.
