Protur Safari Park

We have just returned from a 10 day stay here with a nearly 2 year old. Prior to visiting, I emailed reception to request a low floor room as well as a cot/camp bed - all of this was adhered to. Large spacious hotel with decent sized rooms and many pools to cater for both adults and children. The pools are busy but we visited in the middle of the summer holidays so I fully expected this. There are pools which are quieter at various parts of the day and we happily spent lots of time in the pools. At the back of the hotel Paradise Park - this has mini go karts, trampolines, car rides and a splash park with 2 small slides ideal for younger children. Right by the hotel at the back is a waterpark again, ideal for younger children. Visits to the farm nearby are included in your stay as well as bike hire - there is plenty for children to do! Hotel is very clean with hand washing stations and staff are always cleaning and maintaining it. Food is great - main buffet restaurant is typically better than tire standard all inclusive I would say and there are also 4 other restaurants you can book on to - all of which were lovely. There access to different types of food pretty much all day as well as ice cream and ice lollies. Drinks selection good and entertainment was ok. This is a great hotel and we would definitely return! Hotel was very clean and well kept, staff were friendly. A few good size pools but because the hotel was so big they were always ram packed. Far busier than I am used to and not our vibe but no complaints at all in regard to the hotel or service. Food was good and the dining room staff very attentive. Pool snack bar was brilliant, kids loved the lollies and self serve soft drinks. Would recommend to someone that likes/is used to a very busy hotel. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, bathrooms a good size and water pressure in the shower was decent

Visited as a family with 1 yr old and 5 ur old. There were definitely some positives. Our apartment was clean, modern and well maintained. The soft drink dispensers and ice creams being readily available throughout the day were good. We also loved feeding the huge koi fish around the hotel – such a lovely little touch. The hotel is also within easy walking distance of the beach. That said, we personally weren't keen on Sa Coma itself. Compared with other parts of Mallorca we've visited, we found the area around the hotel quite scruffy and lacking a bit of character. The beach was nice and fairly clean with fun activities to do. Unfortunately, there were quite a few negatives regarding the hotel that meant we wouldn't return. The hotel was incredibly busy during the school holidays. The buffet restaurant, pool areas and communal spaces often felt crowded and cramped, and it was difficult to find anywhere that felt relaxing. On the first day 3 adults in our party got D&V - need I say more on that! The animation team was disappointing. They all seemed very young and inexperienced and, unlike other family hotels we've stayed at, they never really made any effort to interact with our family or get to know the children. The mini disco lacked personality, with the same old music and an dodgy sound system which kept cutting out and the evening entertainment after that generally wasn't particularly enjoyable. Regarding the sound system - it seemed to have an ongoing fault throughout our stay. It constantly cut out driving us mad and one evening made the bingo almost impossible because the numbers kept disappearing mid-call. Even when it was working, the sound on stage was so quiet that it was difficult to hear and affected the atmosphere. The Italian restaurant was also disappointment. Somehow it’s fully booked every night along with most of the other restaurants. Not sure how anyone gets a booking - we only got this becuase we did it with the reception staff immediately on arrival when we checked in. The food was poor, and being asked to order starter, main course and dessert all at the same time felt rushed. The service was very inexperienced too. One of our main courses was forgotten about , staff couldn't answer basic questions about the wine, and the bottles available were all very cheap and, in our opinion, not very nice at all even though priced at €18. As many have commented, we also had ongoing issues with the room temperature. Despite begging the reception team to adjust the controls, they didn’t help and the room remained far too warm. One final disappointment was that the hotel's park and trampolines close at 6pm. It would have been lovely to use these facilities during the evening as a quieter alternative to the very crowded mini disco and entertainment area. Overall, I can see why families may enjoy this hotel, especially if they don't mind large, busy resorts. However, for us it simply wasn't the family holiday we'd hoped for. There are some lovely features, and we know holidaying during the school holidays will involve crowds, but the disappointing entertainment, restaurant experiences and other issues outweighed the positives. Sadly, we wouldn't choose to stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel for four nights after completing an 7-night Marella Mediterranean cruise. We were really looking forward to ending our holiday with a few relaxing days before flying home, but unfortunately it turned out to be anything but relaxing. Check-in was smooth and efficient. Our room was ready when we arrived, the staff provided plenty of information, and the room itself was clean and tidy. We stayed as two adults and one 14-year-old, and although the room was a decent size with an exceptionally large balcony, that was where the positives ended. The beds were some of the most uncomfortable we’ve ever slept on. The main beds felt like sleeping on cardboard, and our son’s “extra bed” wasn’t a proper pull-out bed at all—it was simply the sofa in the living area with bedding placed over it. At nearly 6ft tall, it was far too small and incredibly uncomfortable for a teenager. I really don’t think these rooms should be advertised as suitable for older children. We’ve stayed in many all-inclusive hotels over the years, and sadly this has to rank amongst the worst. There was no bottled drinking water available, only a couple of fountains dispensing tepid water. Soft drinks were often flat, and the breakfast juice tasted more like undiluted squash than fruit juice. The food was very disappointing throughout our stay. Lunch was virtually identical every day, and one afternoon I bit into chicken nuggets that were ice cold in the middle, as though they hadn’t been cooked properly, and mainly found the food to be lukewarm at best, rice was often undercooked, and there was very little variety and also the outside buffets covered in flies. The buffet itself was also chaotic. Children were regularly touching food, picking items up and putting them back, with little or no supervision from parents. We had hoped to book one of the speciality restaurants, but as we were only staying four nights they were almost fully booked by the time we arrived. The only one available was the Tex-Mex restaurant, which turned out to be another self-service buffet rather than the table-service experience we expectedmand probably why it was not fully booked. Again, the food was only lukewarm and flies all over. The drinks weren’t much better. The alcoholic slushies tasted almost entirely of alcohol, although my husband said the beer was reasonable pop Was flat. The hotel has three pools, and a small child’s pool but they simply aren’t large enough for the number of guests staying there. The pools were extremely crowded throughout the day, with people standing near on shoulder to shoulder in the water. If you did manage to find a quieter corner, it wasn’t long before children were jumping in, splashing or diving nearby. There is no way to swim. The atmosphere just wasn’t for us. The best way I can describe it is that it felt like Blackpool and Benidorm had a child together and this was the result . There were children running everywhere from morning until late at night, often with very little supervision while parents were drinking. Noise regularly continued until after 1am. Although the hotel says sunbeds cannot be reserved before 9am, we went down at around 9:10 one morning and struggled to find anywhere to sit. Many beds had towels on them but remained unused for hours. One positive was the free ice lollies available during the day, which were very welcome in the heat. We also enjoyed a game of mini golf, although even this could have been better maintained. There were stones scattered across the course, and during our game children who weren’t even playing were climbing over the obstacles while parents were nowhere to be seen. Entertainment each evening was, unfortunately, very poor. It felt more like amateur karaoke than professional hotel entertainment and certainly wasn’t something we looked forward to watching and was glad when it ended. Another issue was the air conditioning. It could not go below 21, meaning the room always felt warm. Combined with the uncomfortable beds, getting a good night’s sleep was difficult. I also woke up one morning covered in what I hope were mosquito bites. One thing worth mentioning for anyone with an early departure: we were collected at 6:45am for the 2½-hour transfer to the airport. There were no breakfast items, snacks or even drinking water available before we left, so I’d strongly recommend buying something the day before if you have an early flight/pick up . Overall, we were genuinely relieved when it was time to leave. This hotel may suit families with very young children looking for a lively atmosphere, but if you’re hoping for a relaxing holiday or have older children, I personally wouldn’t recommend it. For us, it simply wasn’t the peaceful end to our holiday that we’d hoped for.

Before arrival I emailed to see if we could have a pool view and be close to our friends who were in 3 different rooms. I was pleasantly surprised when we had exactly what we asked for in a row altogether so thank you again for that it made our holiday easy to navigate. Rooms were modern and clean. Pools and sunbeds were very busy and as we were a large group it was hit and miss as to if we had beds altogether but again we usually found some nearby which was good. If you wanted first row at the pool you would need to be up at 6am. Food was nice and always something available for everyone and hot. Would have been nice to have some extra water stations around the hotel. Splash park was really good and usually sunbeds available round there any time of day. My daughter loved the park and the cars too. Entertainment was very busy and repetitive for the kids mini disco and then the evening acts were sometimes good. Surrounding area has plenty to do and a few beaches within walking distance. Overall we had a great stay and would probably return but at a quieter time of the year.
