TUI BLUE Alcudia Pins

Little bit worried especially as the days leading up to arriving there were loads of posts about poos in the pool, but this didn’t happen whilst we were here and to be fair this has happened in a number of places I’ve stayed across Europe. Never the hotels fault anyway. Flew with Tui never had a bad holiday with them. Long queues at both airports but to be expected in the summer holidays. Transfer time about 50 minutes, we were 4th hotel on the drop off. Room ready on arrival which was great as we got here at 1pm and sometimes rooms aren’t ready at that time. Pools great, plenty of sunbeds. Prime spots go by about 9am then other areas fill up by 10, but there was no getting up at the crack of dawn to secure beds as they do remove towels off reserved sunbeds if no one is with them, this was up to 9am when the pool opens. They don’t just remove towels, they take all your belongings so beware if you are someone who reserves a spot then goes back to bed! They also do this again after 6pm so if you’re off to the beach and leaving belongings at the pool be aware they could be removed. Food was ok but very samey, there is a themed area every night which was ok some nights. The sushi was the best night. Italian the worst. My kids moaned that everything looked like dog sick but I found it mainly OK. There wasn’t much choice of daytime snacks, Bambola restaurant and Green & Grill mainly the same food as at tea time in the main restaurant. I was very surprised at the amount of families that leave food all over the floors and tables. Dirty behaviour, but I’ve always cleaned up after my children, maybe others just don’t and expect staff to clean the mess their children make. Drinks ok and like you would get in most all inclusive but as this hotel is also self catering, then you can’t just help yourself to soft drinks. The queues can be very long. The pool bar closes at 5pm for AI even though the pool is open until 7. The stage bar then opens until midnight but extremely long queues especially at night, and sometimes only 1 or 2 staff serving and it can be slow as they are taking payments. Can’t comment on the entertainment as I have teens so we didn’t tend to watch the shows but the area was very busy with shows on up until around 11pm. Bikes and e-scooters for rent which were a big hit with my boys. Remote location but bus stops outside the hotel 5/10 mins to other towns. I wasn’t looking forward to the sea with all the reports of sea weed but it wasn’t that bad. It’s not like sea weed in the UK, you can walk/swim through it no problem, it’s more like small wood chippings. I’m not a big fan of swimming in the sea but I loved it here, so warm and you can go quite far out and still touch the shore. Swim to the jetty and there are plenty of fish swimming around. Took the glass bottom boat trips from the end of the jetty. Adult and 2 kids was around 70 EUR. Good trip but not really worth the money, about 45 mins was spent dropping people off at their disembarkation points. Pins was the final pick up so no seats left when we got on. Rooms cleaned 5 times a week. We had a 1 bedroom apartment which was spacious with a bunk bed, twin beds and 2 chairs. Very loud German family next door that had no volume control so I did bang on the walls a few times when it got to after midnight! Hairdryer, kettle, toaster, microwave, hob and coffee maker in room. I’d read that people were having to go to the doctors with mosquito bites. I bought the repellent spray and wore the bracelets and not one bite between us. Tips D block - ice lollies from 11:30-17:30 for AI To the left of E block - wheelie bin with disregarded inflatables To the left of reception - book swap (mainly German) No sunbeds around the main pool after 10am but plenty stacked up by the grass on the other pool. Big queue for the hair braid lady but if you go out of the hotel turn right, past the pony rides towards the shops there was another lady there with no queue. Generally a good hotel for a 3 star, but probably wouldn’t return.

We've just returned from this holiday after 10 nights and I've never been so happy to get home from a holiday, which is sad. I don't really have any food points, other than the restaurant staff being friendly and welcoming. We arrived at the hotel at 1.30 in the afternoon and our rooms were not ready, ok, I understand to a degree, but not ideal when you've been travelling. We were told to go and have something to eat, we were not directed to where, or where to put out cases, we had to work that one out for ourselves. We finally got into our room, H block, and that was the most underwhelming experience, it was a good size for the 4 of us, but dated, and our balcony view looking at a road and all the bins. The pool was something I never want to experience ever again.....out of 10 days we went to the pool once, which is such a shame for the kids. You can't get sunbeds after 10, they are so rammed in that you can't even put your feet either side, I don't really want to be practically touching a stranger next to me. All round the pool is dirty as well. The beach was our only saving grace, which was beautiful. Housekeeping were not good, I don't think they cleaned the floor once or swept the balcony, glasses we took from the bar in the evening to have a drink on the balcony were never taken, just left, I've never had this anywhere I've stayed. They made our bed, but didn't make up the kids beds. The bathroom was dated and mouldy. The restaurant in the evening was like sitting in a sauna so we went in the kids area were it was cooler. Overall, for what it cost us, we were so disappointed. It's really made us question how we holiday in the future. And I can honestly say I will not return to this hotel or recommend anyone else too.

Just got back from spending 7 nights at this hotel, it’s not somewhere I would recommend. We went all inclusive but that doesn’t cover all drinks and food, which we weren’t made aware of this, so pretty disappointed, the pool bar also charges after 6pm. The free ice creams were only from one freezer box on the resort which had always run out. Everytime you wanted a snack or food, you had to get dressed to go inside a restaurant, as the only snacks/food available around pool area were chargeable. None of the restaurants had air conditioning, so not very comfortable to sit in. Food wasn’t great, both restaurants offered the same thing every evening, very basic. Quite dirty around pool area, bins overflowing, lots of cups and rubbish around sunbeds throughout the day, no staff cleaning up. Evening entertainment was aimed for children aged 3-7 year olds. Rooms were ok, a-bit on the small side, floors seemed very gritty, just felt like it needed a good hoover, bathroom was very dated with mouldy areas. Aircon in the room didn’t seem to get very cold. Changing towels was only free on a mon/thurs, if you wanted to change them any other day, it was chargeable. The beach- Absolutely beautiful, clear sea, fish everywhere, went there everyday.

Good location, beach access, overall amenities and entertainment are ok for a three star. Cleaning of the common areas surrounding pool needs improvement, there has been no in depth cleaning nor rubish removal around the pool for over a week, which is disgusting. Areas outside hotel with too much litter, and there is no excuse this is the busy season. Some rubbish seems to be lingering there for months, and I have not seen a single person picking the rubish from the floor, neither from the hotels nor shops not local council. Mallorca seems to be living the dream of getting as much as they can from tourists paying less and less for accessing sun and beach. The downside is that the profile of tourists will.likely get worse and soon Alcudia and Playa de Muro will be worse than Benidorm. Did I mention the piles of litter on the streets of Can Picafort?

We're here at the Alcudia Pins hotel on our 9th night. 2 adults 2 kids ( boys 11 &15 ) The hotel is in a great location and has plenty of activities especially for my 11 Yr old son. Hes living his best life and is loving his time here. Hes made plenty of friends. My 15 Yr old is enjoying it but there's not so much for him to engage in. That's probably more of an age thing now though. I have found the hotel to be cleaned regularly and the cleaners always do a fantastic job of cleaning our room and the towels are changed 5 times per week. The food is really nice and there's plenty to choose from. It is a bit repetitive but no more than most all inclusive hotels. My wife has struggled with vegan options though. The beach is beautiful and being able to walk straight onto the beach at anytime of the day or night is so nice. My only serious issue is the labelling for allergens. My son has a peanut allergy and some days all the desserts in the cake section especially were not individually labelled. This meant he couldn't risk having a desert. This obviously needs to change. Would I advise people not to come here, no I wouldn't. I think the majority of Families with young children will have a great time especially if you've been to a tui blue hotel before as you'll know what to expect. I'd also like to say how hard everyone works at this hotel Chefs , waiters , cleaners, bar staff, receptionists, Tui reps, Everyone. I think with every hotel if you look for negatives you will find them. It all depends if your glass is half full or half empty. We have enjoyed our stay.
