Viva Cala Mesquida Resort & Spa

A special mention goes to the animation team—they were absolutely fantastic! Our children, aged 9 and 10, loved the pool activities and football games. Even long after we returned home, they kept talking about the always smiling, energetic entertainers who made their holiday so much fun.

We have just returned from our second stay at Viva Cala Mesquida Resort & Spa, and there is a reason why we chose to come back. It’s an ideal hotel for a family holiday with children — the atmosphere is warm, relaxed and easy, with a real sense of comfort and little touches of luxury throughout, so you genuinely feel like coming back again and again. Returning this year, we were pleasantly surprised to see that the resort had become even better than before. You can really feel that the management constantly invests in improvements and pays attention to details. The whole territory is beautiful, very clean, and well maintained. One of the first things that stands out is the cleanliness. Every morning you can see a large cleaning team carefully taking care of the entire resort. Rooms are cleaned daily. We stayed in a garden room with a jacuzzi, and every day a staff member came to check the water quality. There is also a maintenance team that reacts very quickly if anything needs fixing. Our children absolutely loved the pool area, especially the inflatable water dome. The lifeguards were attentive and professional, and it was always easy to find availbale sunbeds, no matter the time of day. The food was another highlight. The quality was consistently very good, and the themed dinners made every evening feel different — Asian, Italian, Mexican, or traditional Mallorcan, plus a gala dinner on Sundays. In addition to the main restaurant, there is also a Sports Bar where you can grab a snack until 16:00 (burgers, chicken wraps, nachos), which is handy if you miss lunch. The complimentary à la carte dinner at the Mirablau restaurant with its sea view was even better this year. The menu now includes a selection of beautifully presented tapas, and honestly, they were some of the best we’ve had. One of the things we appreciated most during our second visit were the small but thoughtful improvements: - The hotel now has its own parking area - Water stations with drinking water are placed in every building (very convenient) - A large sun umbrella has been added in the kids’ activity area by the stage - Pool safety has improved with handrails and “slippery floor” signs in sloped areas - A new gaming room with Mario Kart and FIFA was a big hit with the kids The beach is just a couple of minutes’ walk down from the hotel. It is public, very clean, and well maintained every morning. There are lifeguards on duty, and on windier days a marked swimming zone is set up and carefully supervised. The surroundings are also a real bonus. There are beautiful hiking routes to nearby wild beaches and viewpoints. This year the wooden boardwalk through the dunes reopened after renovation, starting directly from the hotel. It became one of our favorite family evening walks after dinner, with stunning views of the sea, dunes, and the resort. We also rented a car and explored the area. The location is perfect for day trips. We visited the caves in Arta, Capdepera castle, and the Tuesday market in Arta, and they were all easy and worth visiting. Overall, Viva Cala Mesquida Resort & Spa feels like a place that genuinely cares about its guests and keeps improving year by year. After our second stay, we would happily return again. We also want to say a big thank you to the animation team, who really made a difference to the whole atmosphere of the stay. Some of the songs they performed — Azukita, La mujer del pelotero, and Madre Tierra — somehow ended up on our playlist for the whole year after we came back home. We honestly don’t have any real negatives, just a few small suggestions that could make things even better: - It would be nice if the perimeter gates were always properly closed and locked, as they are intended to be accessed only with hotel wristbands. - Clearer visibility of pool rules (for example, that adults are not allowed to climb the water dome, so lifeguards don’t need to whistle every time it happens). -It would be great if the bathroom doors inside the rooms could be lockable for extra privacy when staying as a family.

It would be greatly appreciated if there could be more animators available for children aged 4 and above, engaging them in a wider variety of activities. At the moment, it often seems that children are simply given pencils and paper to draw on by themselves, whereas they would benefit much more from being actively entertained and supervised. There are activities listed, such as Ice Cream with Bufo, Fruit Kebab, and others; however, in practice, these sometimes feel limited to simply giving the children fruit or ice cream, without much actual interaction or involvement. Another point I would like to raise is that parents are currently unable to leave their children unattended, as there do not seem to be enough staff members to properly supervise them. In addition, the staff do not always appear to actively look after the children. It would be wonderful to have non-alcoholic sparkling wine and wine available, as well as a wider selection of cocktails.

The location of the hotell was ok, I would prefers that there was more busses that went a little later in the eventings to the other city. The atmosphere was nice family friendly. The room was ok, the shower was bad. Also the cleaning was only done for 3 of our 7 day stay as we ate in the trash was full many days. The days by the pool entertainment staff was very good, Brian activities was fun! It was both fun to shot with guns, archer and the darts. As well as just being there and talking with the guests and Brian, a light and fun atmosphere.

a very nice hotel, the staff who work there do a fantastic job espcially the entertainment staff. lots of activities for both children and adults. Unfortunately the cleaning was not that good at the hotel, they only cleaned 2 times in 7 days. The area is not central, if you take the bus to another city the times are unfortunately limited. Thanks to Brian who did a fantastic job with all the activities and was very nice to all the guests.
