We stayed at the hotel during the 13th and 14th April long weekend, choosing it with high expectations as our previous visits had been very good. Unfortunately, this time the experience was quite disappointing. The hotel was fully occupied, which is understandable during a long weekend but certain basics were lacking. The rooms definitely need better soundproofing. Noise from other guests and loud music was quite disturbing and is something that should be addressed. The AC in our room (Room No. 231) wasn’t working. We complained multiple times, but no one came to fix it. Later, we realized there was an issue with the thermostat. This was quite frustrating, especially given the standard expected from a property of this level. The food was another major letdown. The buffet spread lacked variety and flavour. Across multiple meals, we noticed the same items repeated grilled fish ( Tuna), battered prawns, calamari, devilled fish, grilled prawns—almost identical in every sitting. Even the salads remained the same across all six meals. Desserts too were repeated, except at breakfast. While I understand and appreciate the idea of reducing food waste and sustainability, recycling food in a buffet setup needs to be done thoughtfully. Unfortunately, this felt like mass-cooked food being reused without much consideration for quality or guest experience. I strongly feel the F&B team and Head Chef need to rethink menu planning, variety, and execution especially when catering to a full house. Dining was also not a pleasant experience. There were long queues to get tables, and when asked, the response was simply that the hotel was full and we had to wait outside until tables were cleared. This is not something you expect from a star-class property. If bookings are known in advance, proper planning should be in place whether it’s expanding dining space or arranging alternative setups to manage the crowd smoothly. We could see the stewards rushing to clear tables quickly just to accommodate waiting guests. But dining should not feel rushed. Guests come on holiday to relax, enjoy meals, and spend quality time with family not to feel hurried through the process. This clearly reflects poor planning. It’s quite sad to see how much the standards of the property have dropped. Heritance was once known for being class apart, but this experience did not reflect that at all.

We had a great time staying here at the end of our Sri Lanka trip. In fact, it was extended by a couple of days due to flights being cancelled..... what a place to be stuck in 🤣. The staff were excellent especially Trilishiya who ensured that we had our room for another couple of days ..... I've still got the lucky coin that she kindly gave me and I will treasure it! My partner has a food allergy and the chef walked her through every dish to ensure it met her needs. Absolutely brilliant. What a great setting right by the beach. Thank you so much.

It was a wonderful stay, the experience was amazing thanks to the staff , special thanks to Jayaru and all team members for extra care, I came as a leader with the group, all our group loved the hotel and experience there
