Our 6-Night Stay at Heritance Ahungalla We stayed at Heritance Ahungalla for 6 nights with my boyfriend, and overall we had a very pleasant experience. We would like to share our impressions of the hotel, the service, the food, and the staff. Location & Hotel The hotel is located about two hours from Colombo by car. We booked a taxi and had a comfortable journey to the hotel. The location is beautiful, right by the ocean, with lovely surroundings. The hotel itself is quite old, but we really appreciated how carefully the property and its original character have been preserved. Overall, we found it beautiful and well maintained. Our room was Suite 346, and it was absolutely beautiful — spacious, comfortable, and very pleasant to stay in. A special thank you to Ms. Purnama for her assistance during our check-in. We really appreciated her help and kindness. Booking & Tour Organization Unfortunately, we did have one negative experience with the booking team. We arranged a tour and received one email with one price for an upgrade, followed later by another email with a completely different price. Unfortunately, we did not check the email carefully after confirming the booking, so the final price came as an unpleasant surprise. We believe the communication from the reservations team could be much clearer and more professional. This was one of the main areas where we felt the hotel could improve. Pools & Beach The hotel has two large swimming pools, which is a big advantage. We really enjoyed having the choice between them. Another major plus is the direct access to the ocean and beach. The location makes it very easy to enjoy both the pools and the sea. Housekeeping & Service Housekeeping was average during our stay. Most of our requests were eventually handled, but often with a delay. We sometimes had to call more than once, ask again, or remind the staff about our requests. We believe the hotel could improve the housekeeping department and make the response to guest requests faster and more consistent. Pool Bar The pool bar was very good. The service was fast, and the bartenders were friendly, welcoming, and always smiling. A special thank you to the whole pool bar team — you are doing a great job! Gym The gym is a little old-fashioned and could use some updating, but overall it has everything necessary for a basic workout. Activities & Excursions There are several interesting excursions available from the hotel. You can visit Buddhist temples, take a river safari, see elephants, and explore other attractions in the area. We definitely recommend taking some time to explore the surroundings. It is a great way to experience more of Sri Lanka. Evening Entertainment In the evenings, there is usually live music or musicians performing at the hotel. For younger guests, the entertainment can feel a little quiet or limited. However, there are opportunities to play cards and other games, listen to music, and dance. So overall, there are things to do in the evening, although we would have enjoyed a little more entertainment and energy. Restaurant & Food — One of Our Favorite Parts We stayed on an all-inclusive package and mainly ate at the Jute Restaurant. The restaurant was one of the highlights of our stay. There was a large variety of food, including salads, desserts, fruits, and many different dishes. The restaurant staff were attentive and regularly checked whether we needed anything. Our requests were handled quickly, and the overall service was very good. We would especially like to mention Shen, one of the waiters. He was always smiling, attentive, and very kind to us. It was a pleasure to see him every day. Thank you, Shen, for making our meals even more enjoyable! Another person who made our stay especially memorable was Chef Chatnura. We asked the kitchen to prepare calamari and another dish without spices, and the restaurant was very kind and accommodating. They prepared everything exactly as we requested, and we were very happy with both the quality of the food and the service. Thank you very much, Chef Chatnura! We wish you every success in your career and all the very best for the future. We would also like to recognize Pradeep, the restaurant manager. He is clearly a true professional who knows his job very well. He manages the restaurant operations, communicates with guests, and supports his team whenever needed. Honestly, this was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. From the moment we arrived, the staff were so friendly, welcoming and genuinely helpful, which made the whole stay feel really special. The room was beautiful, spacious and very comfortable, and everything was clean and well looked after. I really enjoyed spending time by the swimming pool too it was peaceful, clean and such a nice place to relax. The food was another highlight for me; everything we tried was fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. We also travelled with Geeth Tours, and I’d like to give a special thanks to our guide for making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. He was friendly, helpful and always made sure we were comfortable. Overall, it was a really memorable stay and I’d happily come back again✨✨

What truly set our experience apart was the outstanding hospitality. Their exceptional support, warm attentiveness, and professionalism made our stay extraordinarily comfortable and stress-free.
