Taj Bentota Resort & Spa

What a fabulous hotel, we stayed here ( 2 couples) for 7 nights July 3rd - July 10th. The rooms were very comfortable and were kept perfectly clean and refreshed by our room boy Malawana. The pool area was great with Sampat making sure we had everything we needed daily in terms of sun beds, umberellas and towels, the only suggestion is that the cushions for the sunbeds need to be refreshed as they are showing signs of age , staining and slight damage. The pool bar is also a great place to hang out with Chamod ( trainee Bar tender) & Kannangara looking after us like we were Kings & Queens, nothing was too much trouble. The restaurants were equally a great experience we ate at Oriental (Chinese) once, which was excellent, The Shack ( Fish ) twice which was absolutely superb! As good fish cookery that we have experienced anywhere....and Palms for breakfast and dinner all the other days, where we were looked after by Methmina ( trainee) very courteously and professionally with a big broad smiling greeting every day, if it wasn't him then it was Sam who equally made our time there so relaxed and well respected....they made us feel like they really enjoyed us being there and the service was beyond good....all the staff were so attentive and made sure we wanted for nothing. The Tease Bar is really well decorated, with lots of coloured lanterns hanging strikingly just above it and ( a plus for the two fellas) has a couple of pool tables to keep us competitive!.... This hotel is highly recommended!!

We had an amazing stay at Taj Bentota in Sri Lanka. The staff was courteous, and the food was excellent.The whole experience was truly memorable, thanks to the outstanding hospitality of Mr. Dalip Singh Parihar, Sous Chef, who paid personal attention to all our needs and preferences. He is truly an asset to Taj. It is because of people like him that we returned home with so many positive memories.Thank you.

The property is perfect for a laid back vacation. It’s situated on the beach and provides for beautiful scenic views and long beach walks. The staff is courteous and very accommodating. Their chef Dalip made our every meal so special. Always went the extra mile to serve us spectacular dishes. 100% recommend.

Taj Bentota Resort is not just a property, it's an experience. Right from room, food, amenities and service - everything is top notch. Swimming pool and direct beach access is awesome. They left no stone unturned to make my wife's birthday special. Special mention about Head Indian Chef Mr. Dalip Singh - he went above and beyond to prepare Indian specialities for us. My wife is vegan and Chef Dalip made special items for her including vegan dessert. Overall a very good experience and highly recommended.

Our family stay at Taj Bentota was magical. Breathtaking views, squirrels darting around the lush grounds, and an overall wonderful atmosphere made it special from day one. The kids absolutely loved the magic show and were mesmerized throughout. The live music at dinner created a warm, festive vibe that made every evening memorable. A special shout-out to Sam at the restaurant, Kannangara at the pool, and Dilrukshi, the duty manager. And Sacith, our room boy, went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and special—his attention to detail and genuine care stood out. But honestly, every single staff member we encountered was personable, helpful, and highly professional. The entire team truly made us feel at home. The resort is perfect for families: great pool, beautiful beach access, and relaxed, welcoming ambiance. One suggestion: provide designated drivers' quarters. Our driver had to find distant accommodation, which was a hassle and left a slightly bitter aftertaste.
