Taj Bentota Resort & Spa

We stayed at the taj for 14 nights and had a fantastic holiday. We loved the hotel everywhere was spotlessly clean... Our room was of a good size looked after beautifully by Rashmika The location is great making it very easy to venture out the train station is close and the beach on the doorstep. The gardens are kept lovely and all staff couldn't be more helpful. As for the restaurants we went to all of them and enjoyed all meals the food was excellent and service very efficient. From day one Damith looked after us as did all the servers. In particular Asiri Ruwan Sisil and Maduka made our mealtimes very special nothing was too much trouble. Samadi is a trainee and we were impressed with her attitude and hope when we return that she will be up to the next grade A great holiday made very special well done the Taj

Spent 10 days here in February with friends, a lovely hotel in a great position on a beautiful beach but the jewel in the crown here is definitely the staff!! We had exceptional service from every single one of them, the most kind mild mannered thoughtful people who did everything they could to make our stay perfect, a big shout out to Nuwan & Lakmal (Chinese restaurant) Sam in Palms who looked after us from our first lunch to our very last meal on the day of our departure, Roshanua, Induwara (Shack) Asiri, Madusha, Dissanayaka & Aloka, sorry if I've missed anyone these were just a few names I manage to get, you were all exceptional. The food was consistently excellent in all three of the restaurants, I have a food allergy and they couldn't have been more helpful to accommodate me. The rooms were very nice and were cleaned to a very high standard with facilities constantly replenished. If there was one thing that could maybe be improved it would be the main bar Tease the staff again were great but it is very dark and a little tired and soulless with regards to furnishings and lighting etc, we had a DJ one night and a duo 2 maybe 3 nights at the most and we went there every night, even a little piped music sometimes might help. Thank you again everyone for making our holiday definitely one to remember, would return in a heartbeat !!

The hotel, our room, the facilities and the surroundings were all great, very comfortable. All the staff were amazing - kind and attentive. Have to give a mention to our cleaner Saman who was so thorough and efficient in his room-cleaning and left us wonderful displays of towel art. The restaurant staff and the pool attendant were always friendly and helpful, quick to notice when we needed anything. We didn't experience any of the activities, but if we'd had a longer stay I would have tried the yoga, aquarobics, the spa and the leaf origami. The beach is stunning, surrounded by trees laden with coconuts and pineapples. We booked a couple of activities nearby: a water safari and a turtle-hatching experience which were both great and easily accessed by tuk-tuk.

Best place to stay in bentota. At palms restaurant you get the most authentic indian food . We enjoyed the hospitality by mr. Ravindra, Mr. Bimal and Mr. Tharupathi and indian special chef mr. Dilip.( he was such a gentleman and give warm welcome to all the guest). Staff go out of way to provide the best sevices . Overall 10/10 experience.

My daughter and I stayed here as part of our Sri Lanka trip. The staff couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful and as we both have food intolerances their wonderful chef Dalip Singh cooked for us especially every meal to be sure there was nothing in our meals that would disagree with us. He was so incredibly helpful. This hotel has been lovely.
