Centara Karon Resort Phuket

This is our second time at the resort. Love the resort and love the location. Didn't seem as friendly this time around specially in the breakfast area. Asked for eggs and they looked mad that they had to make them. The reason was the sunny side eggs were pre made and cold. Disappointed in how many kids were at the pool bar using it as a playground. I feel they should nit be sitting at the pool bar and playing on the seats

I came to Phuket to celebrate my birthday and chose Centara Karon Resort Phuket because I had previously stayed at other Centara properties and always had a good experience. That’s why I was confident my stay here would be enjoyable. Unfortunately, the reality was extremely disappointing. When I entered my room, I was shocked. The room was very dirty, old, and had a terrible smell. This is absolutely unacceptable for a hotel at this price level. I immediately went to the reception, and they offered me another room. However, the second room was almost the same — dirty and poorly maintained. Instead of relaxing and enjoying Phuket, I had to spend my time waiting again for housekeeping to clean the room. What shocked me even more was that the reception manager suggested I could move to an upgraded room for an additional charge. Seriously? When the issue is that the standard rooms are not clean or properly maintained? Tomorrow is my birthday, and instead of feeling happy and excited, my mood has been completely ruined by this experience. I truly believed Centara was a reliable hotel brand, but my stay at Centara Karon Resort Phuket has been a huge disappointment. This hotel does not justify its price, cleanliness standards, or service quality. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone

Our stay at Centara Karon Resort Phuket was disappointing. Before arrival, we specifically requested a dry room without any smell. However, we were initially placed in a room on the 6th floor with a strong musty odor and a poorly functioning air conditioner. After we complained, we were moved to a slightly better room, but the problems didn’t end there. The air conditioning was very noisy and had only two modes – either too strong or medium – making it very difficult to sleep. Additionally, it worked incorrectly: when setting the temperature above 21°C, it would simply stop cooling and blow warm air. We woke up twice at night feeling like we couldn’t breathe due to the heat. A few days later, we decided to extend our stay, but we were placed in a terrible, old, worn-out room. The balcony door was literally falling apart, and there was a strong sewage smell, especially noticeable near the lobby. The breakfast was average at best (around 3+). The location is good, and the pool is nice, but the hotel itself feels very old. Despite the “renovation,” it seems like only minimal cosmetic work was done – it still feels outdated and poorly maintained. Overall, not a place we would return to.

Good hotel in great location. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Breakfasts are great. Beach is not that great but has great sunsets. Walking north up the beach for 15mins is better for swimming and snorkelling.
