Kalima Resort & Villas Khao Lak

Absolutely amazing hotel lovely and clean and so friendly and helpful. We had to add 7 days to are stay due to cancelled flights and the hotel was amazing in there extra help. The bus every night down to the local town was a really added bonus due to being a little way from it all.

We have just come back from 11 nights at the hotel resort and below are the pro’s and cons’s from our visit. • Beach is very picturesque and in a quiet setting which leads to a river. However you cant walk up and down the beach far as the Thai MOD are next door and stop you from walking along the beach stretch so your limited to a certain part. • There is NO food to purchase on the beach so if you want any you have to walk 10/15 mins depending if you go to the main restaurant or to the Japanese restaurant. If you were HB or AI I would image this would be annoying. Hotel are really missing a trick with this. • 10 minute walk to a very long stretch of beach where there are lots of restaurant's offering free sunbeds aslong as you pay drink or even food there. Well worth it! • Kayaks are free to use and you can really spot some amazing wildlife. • We used the adult pool rather than the main pool, always very quiet but limited sunbeds. Sometime kids were there! The umbrellas are all damaged with the fabric top coming away from all ends, this has happened to all the umbrellas and for a 5 star hotel I would have thought these would be replaced. Sunbeds are also metal framed so in the hot sun you can burn yourself! • Cleanliness of both pools is to be desired, always seemed to be a oil layer on top and debris in the pool. Also loose tiles etc which need to be replaced. • We only had breakfast at the hotel but there was a good selection of hot and cold food. • Hotel charges 10% service charge and 7% tax, if you need drinks and snacks there is a shop 2 minutes walk away, much cheaper! Or go into Khao Lak town • Maid service would be desired, minimum at best. Our bedding was all ripped and frayed and some days left without new towels even though we requested them. Sand left on the floor. • Hotel put on shuttle buses, its a bum fight to get on but they do have 2 x big buses and smaller if needed. Would be good to have an early morning time for the shuttle as first one is 12pm ish. • Hotel is quite far out compared to other hotels, shuttle bus takes 15 minutes to get to the market or Khao Lak town. • Go on the similan or Surin Island trips if you like snorkelling, AMAZING! Book via Khao Lak jungle safari, we always book trips with them. Overall the hotel was ok but I wouldn't say 5 star. If you like a small beach and aren't fussed about convenience of food, being abit remote then this hotel is for you!

I had a great massage and facial treatment from Yin. Brilliant head massage and she was really friendly :)

I received a spa treatment from sandy and it was exceptional. Kindness in abundance She spent 3 hours on me and worked gently and quietly when needed and then got stuck into my knots in my shoulders and neck, fabulous knowledge! Thankyou it was very much appreciated 🙏
