Kalima Resort & Villas Khao Lak

The room itself was very large and spacious. Our accommodation had two floors – downstairs there was a living area with a small kitchenette, refrigerator, and a toilet, and upstairs there was the bedroom with a bathroom and shower, which was very comfortable and convenient. Unfortunately, our stay was affected by several cleanliness and hygiene issues. We noticed ants in the room, including on the bed. During housekeeping, the cleaning did not seem thorough – crumbs and dirt on surfaces such as the nightstand were left from the previous day and were not wiped away. At check-in we also discovered that the water bottles in the room had not been replaced and appeared to be left from the previous guests. The breakfast area, which is very open, had a large number of flies around the food. Some of the salads were exposed and covered with flies, and we even noticed small insects on the chickpeas. There were also ants around the sauces and jams, and in some cases even inside the containers. In addition, finding a clean glass in the dining area in order to pour water was almost impossible, as many of the glasses appeared dirty. I reported these issues to the reception and even showed them photos, but unfortunately the same problems continued during the following mornings as well. Overall, while the room itself was spacious and comfortable, the cleanliness and hygiene issues significantly affected the experience.

Come on, management, this is simply not acceptable for a hotel that presents itself as five-star. The Wi-Fi has been unreliable every single day of our stay. It constantly disconnects, kicks you out, and makes even basic tasks frustrating. Video calls are impossible, and if someone needs to do even a little work while travelling, it becomes nearly impossible as you spend most of the time just waiting for the connection to return. Even the TV barely works because it relies on the same unstable Wi-Fi connection. In 2026, reliable Internet is not a luxury. It is a basic expectation. A real shame, because this is something that could and should be fixed. We will be sharing some few more points later. This is just about the Wi-Fi situation because it just drive us nuts.🥲

We have stayed at the Kalima resort for 10 nights, it has been an amazing experience and will definitely be returning. The resort is excellent and the staff have made the holiday even better. They were extremely attentive and were always looking to make your experience a special one. A special mention to Pada and Wut who have been amazing from start to finish, they went above and beyond for us.

We stayed at the Kalima for 15 nights in February and had an amazing time. The staff are the friendliest people you could meet and nothing was too much trouble. The food was fabulous both breakfast and dinner, and loads to choose from. We also had a daily order from the coffee shop which the girls started to make as soon as we walked in. Sunbeds were always available as people came and went throughout the day, we loved the ones that were set in the water. Took the shuttle bus into the town quite a few times, very easy to use but sometimes a bit crushed. We had a deluxe room on the first floor which suited us perfectly and the beds were so comfortable they were hard to get out of some days. A beautiful hotel with beautiful staff and a really chilled vibe, we didn't want to leave.

This is a lovely resort with beautiful grounds set on a wide sandy beach. We had a one bedroom pool villa which was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The private pool was a real bonus as it was difficult at times to get out of the sun around the main pool. There were a few activities during the day and some very good evening entertainment particularly the in-house duo who performed every evening, we really enjoyed listening to them whilst we ate. The only disappointment was the dining experience. We had a half board package and the menu was varied but not five star food and was a separate menu to the main a la carte offering. The starters were basically a salad bar - a little like a Harvester restaurant and the deserts were also self service and virtually the same every night. The staff seemed rather under pressure and although very friendly and helpful they often served your main meal before you had finished your salad starter. We did ask if we could pay a supplement to upgrade to the a la carte menu but this was not possible. Other than this we really enjoyed our stay.
