La Flora Khao Lak

Stayed in late Nov / early Dec as a last minute holiday. Location is good, close to restaurants, bars and shops. The market is not far either. However we found Khao Lak very boring. Breakfast is very basic, not a lot of choices. Eggs are left under the hot plate they dried out. There were some leftovers from previous day’s dinner which were put out for breakfast (?). Cannot comment on other meals as we stayed on BB basis. Coctails in the bar are stong, you don't need much :) Evening entertainment is short and repetative (if any). Rooms were OK and clean, however walls are paper thin and can hear your neighbours. The maid forgot to replace the towels on numerous occasions. I had to request fresh ones via the app which took ages to arrive to the room. Rest of the staff were nice accommodating. Hotel grounds are nice, beaches are OK but seen nicer ones before. Sunbeds are crammed and had to reserve a good spot early, dispite no reserving policy. On day 8 we were asked if we wanted to upgrade to a sister property Casa de la Flora on a half board basis for our last 3 nights, we went to see the hotel which was a 5 star luxury, however was too concrete to our liking and my husband sadly declined which he later regretted. Would have been nice for insta pictures though 😊 Upon check-out we couldn’t leave (although airport transfer was waiting for us to depart) as someone had to check the room in case we stole some towels or other things from the room (????). For this reason I would rate this hotel as 3.5 stars.

This was our last leg of a 2 week travel holiday in Thailand , in arrival the reception staff were friendly and welcoming. The resort is beautiful and every member of the staff were so kind and helpful we cannot find fault with the La Flora and would definitely stay here again on any return trip to the area

From the time we arrived to the time we left we were treated very well and the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful

All staff - literally it was like everyone who worked here had received zero customer services training. My partner and I were only staying for 3 nights, thankfully because most of the attitude received by staff was boarding on rude…eye rolls, tufts, vagueness and complete lack of attention. This applies to all areas of the resort, reception, bar, breakfast area.

Everything was good except that we woke up around 3:00 AM feeling very hot because the A/C had broken, it may be too old for its service time. Then, around 4:15 AM, the reception informed us that we had to move to another room. We were traveling with a child as well, so it was a very unpleasant experience.
