La Solaya Khao Lak

We’ve just returned from a wonderful three-week stay at the recently refurbished La Solaya. It’s a beautifully proportioned hotel offering a mix of traditional west facing Garden Rooms and Garden Villas, all set within very attractive grounds. Location wise its perfect, set on a wonderful beach and central to bars and restaurants. The refurbishment has been carried out to a good standard overall, although there are a few obvious oversights. Our room, for example, had no bedside reading lights or drawer space. The bathroom floor tiles and the laminate decking used around the pools and patios can also become very slippery when wet. Some minor building works are still ongoing, including the installation of bi-fold glazing to the covered area of the Solmare restaurant, which in my view detracts from the open feel of the space. Breakfast each morning and the occasional evening meal we had at the hotel were always excellent. All the staff are a real credit to the hotel and do a fantastic job of making guests feel welcome and well looked after. It’s still early days since the hotel reopened, and there is clearly more to come from this lovely place. Hopefully the management will continue to preserve the calm, relaxed atmosphere that makes staying here so enjoyable. Despite the few minor niggles mentioned above, I still feel the hotel deserves a five-star rating due to the wonderfully relaxed stay we experienced.

Our stay at La Solaya Khao Lak is 5 stars. We were upgraded from a double room to a Villa which is large and comfortable. The hotel is newly renovated so everything is functional and wonderful with the advantage that the original vegetation has been retained, so the area is green and cozy. The breakfast is in a class of its own, large selection and high quality of ingredients. There is also real cafe coffee with cappuccino and similar. The only thing we are missing is freshly squeezed orange juice. There have been complaints in previous reviews about a lack of sunbeds and that they were taken up with towels early in the morning. The hotel has solved this, there are always free sunbeds and if you are gone for more than an hour, they remove the towels. There is a large pool which is mostly used by families and an infinity pool by the sea which is for adults only. The service is super friendly and most speak great English. So a super recommendation for the hotel from us, a couple in our sixties.

I had a wonderful stay at La Solaya Hotel in Khaolak. From the moment I arrived, the warm welcome and friendly atmosphere made a great first impression. A special thank you to Joy, Shane, Left, and Pong from the Front Desk team who assisted with my check-in and departure. They were incredibly welcoming, professional, and provided excellent service. Their hospitality truly made my stay more enjoyable. The room is very new and comfortable, and the pool design is beautiful and stylish, creating a relaxing atmosphere around the resort. I also really enjoyed the breakfast, which offers a great variety of choices. Overall, the Front Desk team provided outstanding service, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Khaolak.

We are four Danes who have spent a week at Hotel La Solaya in Khao Lak. From the moment we arrived, we received a fantastic welcome 😉. The hotel truly offers everything you could wish for for a great holiday – in fact, it is the best hotel we have visited in Thailand. The staff are incredibly friendly, always smiling, and very service-minded 👍. The food is excellent, and the surroundings are beautiful, well maintained, and clearly well cared for. By the beach there is a fantastic pool and plenty of comfortable sun loungers with good space between them, so there is no need to compete for spots. The hotel has a great and peaceful location, yet it is still close to town with many good restaurants. Through the hotel – and with the help of Ann, who kindly looked into everything for us – we booked a full-day trip to Khao Sok National Park. It was a wonderful experience with a lovely local lunch, and everything was perfectly arranged. We can highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return.

We had a really wonderful stay at La Solaya in Khao Lak! The rooms are absolutely excellent – modern, clean, and very comfortable. You immediately notice that everything has been freshly renovated, and the entire resort feels very new and well maintained. One particular highlight for us was the breakfast buffet – truly amazing! There is a huge selection and basically everything you could wish for. Whether you prefer savory or sweet, everyone will find something they like. The hotel’s own app is also very convenient: it provides all the important information about the resort, lets you check what’s on offer at any time, and you can even order things directly to your room. It makes the stay feel even more relaxed and modern. The location is also excellent: the hotel is very centrally located. As soon as you step outside, you’ll find everything you need – small stalls, fresh fruit, a 7-Eleven, and many other options. The Night Market is also not far away. The entire resort is beautiful, very well kept, and gives a high-quality impression overall. We felt completely comfortable and would come back anytime. Clear recommendation! 🌴☀️
